I bought a new one end of March this year 22 plate, 1.5 Exclusive model. And yes the engine power isn't great but apart from that it's a fantastic car for the money . Seriously such a good deal . Done 3000 miles without issue and couldn't be happier. The PCP deal at the time was 0% with free servicing, free breakdown cover . Traded in my old car , so I'm only paying £87 a month for a brand new car . No one can beat that .
agree great deal for a new car but I have the 1.5 at the moment for a hire car and it is the slowest car ever. tell me what you thought about the power on the test drive. this is the only fault with the car but a real deal maker / breaker.
A quick update on the car. The starting price has increased slightly to £16,495. Secondly, I don’t believe the radio turning itself on automatically each time you start the engine is a common issue on all ZS models. Sorry for any inconvenience caused and thank you for watching!
I'm using this car as a hire car bc my insurance covers it after I got into a car accident and when I tell u IM IN LOVE. Worth the money and a great price for what you're getting. Is a dream to drive and be in!!
I’ve got a loan MG at the moment & love it, mate cars of yesteryear are 💩 compared so this is a masterpiece so stop being negative as the price is blood good compared to other companies 🎉🎉🎉
Using the volume control on steering wheel re audio volume not hard - more focus on dynamics like ride and handling and mpg plus actual performance time 0-62 would turn this review into a great one 👍
Just bought the same model Ill agree with most of what you say apart from the steering wheel your probably very young (have you started to shave yet) and still have baby soft skin on your hands 😉 Its a ok car a hell of a lot of kit for you money together with the 7 year warranty Its a no brainier
I have one (1.5) and the only time power is an issue is up hills. Otherwise it is all good. Turning circle a bit too broad for size of car but all good
Nice review mare. Was ready to put a deposit down when I heard about the location of the USB however the "don't forget your key" would send my head west
Good review I am driving 2019 mg zs i see the bonging and binging to let you know the key are in still not been updated yet that does get old very quickly you also get a arm rest in the new model and bigger screen and now open to android not just apple play so i think i would like the new model
I sold my 69 plate duster wit 20 thousand miles on it in February this year for 200 pounds less than I bought it for which was 15 grand ....... Then got one of these MGs brand new for 14500 with my partners blue light discount and it's been absolutely fine you can't beat them for the money yes they slow and maybe some things feel a bit cheep but how can you complain for the price no one drives to the shops scratching the plastic plus my kids just throw rubbish all over the floors and seats any ways mines the 1500 non turbo but I can bet you any money it outlives any turbo one not that il have it that long like but with 7 years warranty who cares which one you get lol.
Hi. I have a 69 plate Duster 1.3 TCe. How do you compare it to the ZS? I am driving a ZS now (rental) and the interior feels superior but the engine is far less punchy compared with the Duster's. Also the infotainment feels to engineered compared with the Duster's. Thanks
@@teodorghetiu5136 I think the zs is the better of the two that's just my personal opinion although both have strong points the zs feels more car like an better to drive on the UK roads while the duster is more utilitarian hope that helps.
Nice review pal, having driven the less powered 1.5 it is slow, needs more oomph for sure. I found on back roads over bumps too it was a bit bouncy and skittish but not quite skittish if you get me. Love how your nan won't hear it 😂 for the price point though and the practicality and comfort its a great choice.
Cheers Ed! Yeah the suspension isn't perfect, but I'd say it's bearable for most people who won't be taking it down some B-roads! 😆 Exactly, it's really well-priced for sure.
For someone who have issues with performance, the only ZS to go for is the ZS EV. The ZS EV is the only one that have balls. Not only it can do 0 - 60 in 8.3 seconds but the instant torque makes the car a lot quicker where it counts. But then you'll need to mind the price tag of the ZS EV but heck it's a lot cheaper to run in the long term.
@@glyntimmins8929 I’m guessing if you press the home button/switch below the screen, the system should wake up. If the ignition is on, the screen should wake automatically. Hope that make sense.
@@SamWorthReviewing now have the answer - should have realised!.. as it’s a keyless start, if you push the start button without depressing the clutch, the electrics come to life without starting the engine, and gives you full functionality of the infotainment systems. Something new every day!

On PCP you’re paying £87 per month what’s the set mileage and how much is the balloon payment at the end of the agreement?????????

That USB on the mirror is genius placement for dashcams. On the contrary, I didn’t know it had that many annoying elements, i do miss the old MG’s
Loved my old MG ZR, cracking fun for only a 1.4. Its a mint idea isn't it. Only other car I know of that has it is the skoda octavia.
The USB port is something you would've thought manufacturers would put in cars like 5 years ago! So do I Armagan, so do I.
Very well explained,am looking forward to driving our new car very soon..thanks for explaining things in so much detail

Nice review-- Believe the key warning can be switched-off (at least in the 2024 year models)
Excellent review. Very useful. Many thanks.
Please someone let me know if this car is very good because im planning buying it and im not sure 100% to buy it

you can have the key reminder setting switched off by re programming
Good review. Seems like a good car for the money. Gotta check it out. I thjnk the 2023 has a bigger engine.
Mine does not do any of the please take your keys or horn beeps when you close.
I figured how to display the temperature
Best review I have seen.
Great review, I liked the gentleman doing the review more than the car. 😀😀 Seriously the car looks good for its price. Thinking of buying one.
it is the auto box you have there. the 6-speed manual is better + it's not really a car for a teenager

Thanks champ good info!
You got 42mpg in your time with it, was that mainly town driving or a bit of everything?
This is definitely the best car review i've seen yet!! Nice one mate!
nice of this young man to do this review whilst also studying for his GCSE's
One of the best reviewer 👍👍👍🔝🔝🔝
Good honesty unlike other reviewers. Ordered this car, coming in April
Seems an odd choice of engines, non turbo 1.5 would be pointless 🤔
It also includes a great 4 star safety rating to finish the package off completely😂.
i have the 70 plate and i love it.
Question please.
Can I play the radio with the engine off?
Yes you can. :)
@@SamWorthReviewing grateful if you could tell me how to do that. Been able to do it in my other cars, but the mg has beaten me!

Is this the zst model or the one without turbo?
It's the Exculsive model and has a 1.0-litre turbocharged engine.
@@SamWorthReviewing why's it 1.0? Its 1.3 in Australia
@@mharro88 I'm not too sure? Maybe there's different powertrains for different countries. We only have the 1.0 and 1.5 in England.
@@SamWorthReviewing hmmm could be emission laws. How do you find the power on the zs turbo?
@@mharro88 it's on the MG website.
How many miles for a full tank?
7.1L/100km
Not that bad for a cheap suv
no wireless charger in this car?
Why doesn’t it drive like a sport car?
Because it is not a sports car.
is this gas saver car?
Not really, the ZS EV is one to go for bearing with a higher price tag.
got the mg zs 1.5 petrol..no guts ,i could run faster lol...very comfy car though..media unit very slow
It's a 1litre engine how can it have power
I hope his dad knew he took his car out and did a review on it lol 😂
Its a 1 litre , try the 1.5
He said the 1.5 had less horses than the 1.0 Turbo.
Just take the key 🤷♂️
