  • How to make your own natural Rosemary and Lavender herb infused shampoo. Rosemary is excellent at strengthening and promoting hair growth, and Lavender is great for dry hair.
    Things to gather:
    - 1 cup boiling water
    - 2 tbsp. fresh herbs - soak in water couple hours then strain and add to squeeze bottle along with
    - ¼ cup natural soap base
    - ½ tsp grapeseed oil: amzn.to/2c51cyV
    - 20 drops of essential oil
    Don’t over shake or it mix will foam up. It might not look like it will foam up but it does similar to commercial brands.
    Apple cider vinegar finishing rinse:
    1 cup water
    2 tbsp. apple cider vinegar mixed together in a spray mister bottle.
    Method:
    Once hair has been shampooed/rinse, simply spray through hair, then rinse. Dry and off you go!

      @@sarahbeee5240I use that shampoo for many years, and I will never be back to chemical shampoo, no more loosing hair, no more dry scalp. First month or maybe more my hair was getting used to that shampoo, because all my life I used regular shampoo from the store, and hair needs time to get in new kind of shampoo. I like it, hair is healthy and shine 👍

    I have been using a similar recipe for a week now it took me 40 years to realize I need to make my own shampoo. I was losing hair in scary amounts and I could see my scalp my hair was so thin I was convinced nothing could stop the hair loss. However, I gave homemade recipe a try and I am losing much less hair now I would say at least a 50% reduction if not more.

    I’ve been using for 3 days, and so far no itching reaction or otherwise! The only thing I noticed is my hair is rather limp which is very noticeable since I don’t have a lot of hair! That’s the reason I went on the search to get away from all the additives. I sure hope I don’t lose anymore hair! What has been your experience since you have been using it? I thank you for sharing your talent with others!

      Hi Rochelle, I know exactly what you mean. My hair was like that too. I think it's because there is no additional ANYTHING in it. It's been a hit and miss adventure with many of the recipes I tired, but can confirm my hair likes one. The other thing worth trying is... to only wash your hair once a week and plenty of brushing to stimulate the scalp. Well that's what I now do. I hope this helps. Love Astar

    I make my own shampoo too. I love recipes with herb water but for my hair i actually use alot more oil to mine because im half arab and half english so my hair is really thick curly and bristly. I make an herbal oil emulsion vs the herb water. I used to use 80% oil 10% castile soap and 10% glycerin but i tried something new today. my ratio is 70% oil to 10% water 10% borox and 10% glycerin. I just thought i could try it hope it works out. The reason Im saying this is in case someone has hair like mine and they need that extra oil. It rinses out just fine even in that high % of oil. Im going on my 3rd yr with doing my shampoo like this. But I really like your setup and your video :D

      Hello Madelyn, I love this recipe and although it took sometime for my hair to like it, perseverance worked. As Rachel Hunter once said 'it doesn't happen over night, but it will' and tbh it does. I'm not sure about adding teatree! And suggest you do a wee trial test first. Because there is no preservative in the mix, I only ever do small batch lots and keep it in the fridge. Fyi this was actually my old Nan's recipe. My thoughts have always been...'good enough for Nan when there was nothing else around, then good enough for me'. Keep me posted. Kind regards Astar

      Hi Harmony, tbh yes it does, but only briefly and yes it does take a while to adjust too, but for me it's been a positive experience. God only knows what's ahead with our upside down, inside out, muck up world. I'm lucky I suppose that my Nan went through 2 war worlds and gifted me with handy alternatives. Astar

      Genau meine Frage.
      Sie sagt, das sei keine Chemie.
      Sehr komisch. Shampoo Base ist nämlich die wichtigste Zutat, die wäscht und wirkt und reinigt.
      Das Rezept ist nicht "100% Natur" !!!

      Hi Virginia, it was like that on me too for a few times, and then it came right. I have another recipe that I am currently working on, which will be posted once I'm fully satisfied. The thing about 'things' made or DIY is to remember they will never be like those manufactured. My motto has always been to keep things as simple as possible. Love and best wishes Astar

      Hello Gazelle, that is exactly what mine felt like when I first started using it, but after a couple more goes it came right. The trails and tribulations involved in as 'natural' as possible is a hard road. I'm sorry this was a time waster for you. Kind regards Astar

      Gazelle 251262 suds are a result of sulfates which is associated with carcinogenic substances. Amazing what chemicals we put into our bodies unknowingly. Harmful though they be... I’m a cancer survivor so I’ll forgo suds for health.

    • @YunaPhoenixful
      @YunaPhoenixful 7 років тому

      Probably. It's usually the harsh chemicals in shampoos that strip your hair to begin with. I can't imagine that herbs are going to do that ^.^

    • @SolskinMid
      @SolskinMid 4 роки тому

      "Careful" with some herbs though, I remember sage can darken hair a little so if you have light colored hair it might alter the color. But you should be fine with rosemary ! 😊
