Just made one to wet test my carbs. One suggestion for anyone reading. I've found it's better to put the valve closer to the end of the hose where you connect it to your carbs. The reason is when you shut off the valve there will be fuel left over in the line that you will have to drain. If you put it closer to the end, there will be less leftover fuel to deal with. Just a suggestion. Nice tutorial. Thanks.
JUNKMAN I have a question regarding the fuel pressure with this sort of auxiliary tank. Recently I read on the web that when using a tank like this that hangs to work on your bike that you should not have it to high and try to keep the hight of the auxiliary tank low because the higher you hang it the greater the fuel pressure? And this pressure could make you float bowl needle fail. Any truth to this that you know of? Does it Matter high high you hang the tank up from the bike? Thanks!
I used 3M DP8005 because I keep it around form plastic bonding, but it is fine for most all metals because they are easy to bond. It has pretty high chemical resistance too.

That is a good tip. I am going to pin this comment.
What size was that fitting you placed on the bottom of the can
Great Idea. Really like it.
Alex West and I will build this for our workstation.
+Primagen Van Atlantis It is handy.
Brilliant. Thank you.👍🏾🏍🛠

Gravity is the same so it doesn't matter the height.
@@thejunkman thank you sir!
@@thejunkman That isn't true, if it was, then water towers wouldn't exist. The height will increase the pressure.
Still nice video, thanks for the idea.
@@thejunkman Actually for every foot of height, the pressure increases .4 PSI.
What kind of valve is that?
Ball
Hey man how long would you say this set up would last? Have you seem any leaks or failures anywhere?
I suppose at some point the epoxy will fail. Mine has not yet.
@@thejunkman is it just a general epoxy? Quick set?
I forget the exact brand/product, but it was fuel resistant and i think it was a 5 minute set.
Nicely done, is the two part epoxy fuel proof? Will definitely be looking to do something like this once the front of the bike is finished.
Yes it is
@@thejunkman What is the name brand of the epoxy? I know from experience that JB Weld is NOT fuel proof.

Looks really good. Getting ready to build one of these now. What size fittings did you use?
What ever fitting size seems reasonable. The barb fitting will be dependent on the size of fuel line.
"bulkhead fitting" good---epoxy bad
