- In this video I'm testing the GTX 1660 Super 6GB vs the RTX 3050 8GB in games like Fortnite, Warzone and Cyberpunk 2077. The GTX 1660 Super came out in 2022, has 6GB of GDDR6 and has 1408 cuda cores, while the RTX 3050 came out in 2022, has 8GB of GDDR6 and has 2560 cuda cores,

RTX 3050 is basically a super overclocked 1660.

it have doubled the core of 1660s, so i disagree, it just perform so bad without ultilize all the shaders core.

The different is, RTX 3050 have RT Core but not recommended to using it for RTX ON (because its weak) its still usable for DLSS
Why are the 1% and 0.1% of the 3050 in quite a few of these games significantly lower than the 1660 Super?

Yeah, it looks like that, but if you're really for the long term, the 3050 is going to get more driver updates in the future.

The only other use for ray tracing on a 1660 Super is with screenshots and the like.

Would the 3050 be a huge upgrade from my 1650 super 4gb or is the 2060 better considering they're nearly the same price and I heard 2060 does better performance wise over 3050.
I have a video where I compare the 2060 and 3050. In my opinion, I would go for the 2060, because if it is the same price as the 3050, you will get a little bit more performance.

How is an older 1660 Super card superior in everything to a much newer card like this 3050?
Its bc the 3050 is an entry level gpu, here is an explanation:
50:lowest end gpu
60:low end gpu
70:mid range gpu
80:high end gpu
90:very high end gpu
I hope you undestand but before i finish this on most cases the rtx 3050 inst worth it bc for the same price you get an rx 6600 wich is way more powerful
I choose 1660 super because it's much cheaper and the fps is close to 3050, plus I've no plan to use ray tracing
I noticed in Cyberpunk 2077 you used FSR on quality. Did you try the 3050 with DLSS instead?
imo the whole point is to not use DLSS as its basically a handicap[ that also does technically lower graphics.
@@DeadSpaceMan2000 How does it lower graphics compared to FSR? It does compared to no upscaling, but since FSR is used in this test, DLSS makes more sense as an extra test.

bought a two year old 1660s for $150 since a new 3050 in my country costs $350.
I just did the same thing! mine worked out to be $130 USD. 3050 was way too much money here. I'm in Canada

Me too the 3050 is wayyy more expensive so i got the 1660s for about 130USD
The ironic thing, is that I bought a 1660 Super for about $120 ... just before COVID hit.
And there's still not a GPU at the same price, that would be an upgrade.

If you can find an RX 6600 for the same price or a litlle bit cheaper or expensive get it bc its WAY better than the 3050

Kind of disappointing the RTX 3050 isn't noticeably better, if at all, than the 1660 Super. Meaning that a 1660 Ti either is the same, or slightly better than it. Guess DLSS is its only saving grace since most aren't going to be using ray tracing for such a budget card.
I guess the only use for ray tracing on a 1660 Super is for screenshot purposes.
