How To Choose The Right Power Generator For Your Home
Вставка
- Опубліковано 26 лип 2024
- It's fairly common to have blackouts/ brownouts here in the Philippines. That is why I get asked a lot about choosing the right generator for the home - the answer is not as complicated as it seems. I also talked about the generator we chose for the skypod and what we did to make it automatic! Special thanks to Kryzzzie for guesting (again!) 😂

I like how slater explains everything...maintindihan mo talaga kasi detalyado at he talks in layman's terms....
Went straight away to Lazada and purchased a Greenfield product. That's how quick Kuya Slater's endorsement has an effect on a viewer. More SPONSORS to come Kuya!
Road to 600k na po kayo! Kami naman road to 1k! Yehey!
I think this needs a part2... something to explain how to choose the power capacity requirement as imdicated on the electric bill... or explaining it as to how much a generator can power in terms of appliance use in a span of time. It might be more of a lecture side... but i'm really interested.
The Kryz cameo at the end though 😂 this is a wise investment, especially if you live VisMin where power interruptions are normal.
This is totally helpful to me who have no idea how to pick the right one for us. We're definitely going to try Greenfield. Thanks, Slater!
Blackout vs Brownout
A blackout is a complete interruption of power in a given service area. Rolling blackouts are controlled and usually preplanned interruptions of service.
A brownout is a partial, temporary reduction in system voltage or total system capacity.
But in the Philippines, everything is "brownout".
@australianpatriot4090 Maybe it's a shit country so you see brown everywhere.
My father uses a truck's battery and pairs it with an inverter to produce electricity for our home during brownouts. It's cheaper, doesn't use diesel/gasoline, quiet, and we can just recharge it at home as soon as the electricity comes back. Though it is only used for very small loads it can definitely last especially during storm season in Samar.
maybe you have a small house or only use the lights during brownouts that's why a "truck battery" can handle it probably
@@seanrasos2248 my parents live in a two-story house. But my father limits the use only to an e-fan, some lights, and charging phones. They live in Samar and power outages are pretty normal. And during typhoon season, power outages last for at least 2-3 days and the battery delivers.
It depends upon the load requirements.. Obviously, Slater wants to have a back up power supply that can power all the appliances and ACUs of the entire house continuously for more than 2 weeks.. Your 2 truck batteries simply cannot do the job he is requiring..
@@mr.ambungan3865 chill...He never said it would. He simply shared what they used in Samar. His proud of the resourcefulness of his father...
@@mr.ambungan3865 Chill man. I was just sharing what my father did. I never claimed that what my father did can compensate for the load requirements that Slater's home requires.
It’s so nice to see that kryz is so game whenever whatever 😂 sya yung maarte type pero super supportive 😍
Quality content! This is really what I needed since madalas talaga mag brownout dito samin. With the details you provided it is so much easier to understand pa. Thank you so much!
I love how this channel answers all of my why's in building our own crib. Please add a content about roofing. Thanks! I'll check the other content kasi baka meron na.
This has been a very informative video with a wealth of information. Will eventually be moving to the Philippines. So thank you for taking the time to share. That automatic switchover is a game changer. Never would have thought of that if I would not have watched your video.
Super helpful talaga ang channel na ito when it comes to things to buy or do's and don'ts for home.....thanks slater....at least my reference na ako for my future home....
Thank you Slater for giving us tips before we will replace our old gen set. 👍🏻
As a young adult this is helpful, I learned a lot from you sir 😊. Thanks po.
You bring such great content sa UA-cam community sir Slater! YT will never be the same without you ever again 😎
OMG! Just thinking if you have videos for this kind of stuff! You are really genius slater! Thanks for this! 😁

Thank you for this vlog! Super informative and helpful
Great content as always and very informative.....👏👏👏
WAW...like 🤯🤯
👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 a Clear and Concise explanation
Been waiting for this topic 😊
Diesel generator is a good choice for maintenace and efficiency wise. Nowadays home battery system requires a large space to hold a large energy capacity than a home generator. Very informative, Good Job!
Not the new Tesla panel batteries that lie parallel to the wall.
maraming salamat sa dagdag knowledge nato sir. before, daghan pa jud ko ug questions about generator. Now na enlighten na ako
Ang galing! Parang nabusog utak ko 😊👏👏👏
Kudos to this channel... keep posting slater and kriz... great help talaga...
Very Good thing na feature ni sir slater ung ATS is we don't want to turn the generator on Immediately for at least 10 seconds because sometimes electricity will just flicker and it might damage the generator motor by simply turning on and off.
Also Guys, Please get the Inverter one lalo na if we are using WFH kinds of stuff!
Quality Info Rating 10/10
Kudos to you mah dudes and keep doing very helpful Vlogs.
Thank you Kuya Slater for this! And for featuring the dental drill too! 💜
Useful for me since I’m a dentistry student and online lang po yung clinics namin. We work from home with supervision of our clinical instructors through video meetings. Pag brownout tigil po talaga lahat kasi wala nang internet, wala pang power to run the compressor para gumana yung handpiece. Huhu. 🥺
Will consider you key points po in choosing a generator that can carry all the load needed to run the home clinic. Thank you sooooo so much po, Kuya! More power SKYfam! 🥰🙏🏻
UA-cam really knows everything. This showed in my recommendation when it's brownout in our area lol
I’m currently living in a condo but this is already on the list of items to buy when we move to a house & lot 😊
SENSING: "Electrical Engineer reacts to sir Slater: Never Worry About Blackouts Again!" hahahaha
naunahan ako haha
try again next time, jk AHAHAHAH

Very informative ang vlog mo at the way you explain… talagang 👍 sayo👏👏👏
This is so cool, a generator no black out anymore. Dapat lang Kryzzie should know how to operate a generator. Also do you have solar panels up on the rooftop Slater. I love these kinds of videos. Thank you take care.
Worth it watching informative videos. Thanks
It really helps a lot.. Slater is a genius

Love this content!
Just the thing I am looking for. Rainy days, lots of possibilities of blackout.
First! Abangers for informative vlogs
I've been waiting for this video. Thank you so much for covering this. One thing that I am curious about is whether or not having an uninterrupted power supply, such as a power bank, can prevent internet loss during black/brown outs, or is losing internet in Cebu unavoidable? Thanks, again.
Super cute talaga ni Kryz 😍🤣
this is a good content! :)
thank you for this video! super relevant and need to ngayon!
Very useful info Sir Slater.👍👏👏👏👏
Nicely done Slater

Nice content and helpful! Also, any thoughts on the use of grease trap? TYIA and more power!
I find “ mom/sir “ humorous . I hear it all the time at the malls.
very informative sir slater.
Thanks for this video
even I don't have the money to buy this generator pinapanood ko pa rin tong vlog it's very educational kasi 😂
nice vlog, will buy generator soon :)
Great video. Do you think technology will advance to the point where the inverter type will have an ATS function? I would prefer not to have to go out and start the inverter each time. Thanks again for your very informative videos.
I love Greenfield brand!
Thank you for sharing your knowledge God bless you
This is a legit content creator
Hahahah ka cute ni kryzzzie 😆💕

Napapanahon sakto 👍🏼

Thank you, Sir for the info... God bless...
Got it bro! kini ako gipangita na review

Finally found a content about gensets for home setup.
Does Greenfield also supply the ATS?
Btw, Atlas Copco brand Power generator is also good.
agree. Atlas Copco is very reliable and best aftersale support 👍🏻
How much would it cost to put an ATS? Including the PF fee?
Best actress na jud si kryz oi. 🤣🤣🤣
Hi Mr.Young I just wanted to ask why not use renewable energy instead, like solar panels and do a hybrid setup in skypod? Please do a vlog about it too, thank you!! Keep it up I really enjoy your contents. God speed!
Ay gusto ko yung may mga label. Sa ating mga alam we badly need an idiot guide talaga. 👍👍👍
Thanks for sharing this .. was actually looking for a new and reliable generator kc solar set up din bahay q. Mahirap pg Leyte ka Lage ulan....so better Meron backup 👍👍👍
Thank you!
Punchlist na kami next week sa aming house and lot unit. Mukhang mabubudol mo ako ng generator for my AC and workstation Added to wishlist na. Hehe
Very Informative.🧠
Hi Slater, how long do you think will your diesel generators last? How about the 4K gasoline generators?
informative galing ang sarap manood.
Hi Slater. Have you considered using renewable energy as your power back-up? What are your thoughts about using the off-grid and on-grid solar/wind powered energy?
He already have a solar power system this generator is for backup when its brown out and its gloomy when the panels can't generate enough power
Nambubudol na naman po siya 😁 tawang tawa ako sa brownout reenactment ni Kryz! 🤣
Thanks for the info. I really need this in mindoro dental clinic .Always brownout dun e
Ang funny ni Ms. Kryz haha kala ko may multo na eh
cool vid... what's your thoughts about solar panels? why not use solar instead of generator?
Hi Slater, can you please create a content about passive house? Thanks!
Been working in a Power Generation company here in Cebu(Toledo City) for almost 10 yrs, struggle talaga if may blackout/brownout, very hustle to our O&M team.
That’s a serious generator for a home. I had a 7kVa generator for my house some years ago when we had a lot of black outs. Then I could my air conditioning, TV , fridge, lights etc. was working fine. Was a gasoline type and was quite noisy.
this is what we need here in the province
pagraduate pa lang ako sa shs gusto ko na tuloy ng sariling bahay para maapply ko lahat ng learnings ko from your vlog engineer!
nakaka aliw yung content pati yung sub title..😄
Maayoha oy sana all engineer. 😁
amazing
I watch ALL your videos!
Just a suggestion: youtube shorts would also be great for simple tips or instructions.
Haysss super pogi always!!
