Just a quick video showing the Fallen Archbishop Andreus boss fight in the Lies of P on PC, 4k Ultra Best Graphic Settings. Details below.
Fun fight, and a pretty tough one to no damage. Fire damage works well against enemies with blue blood like this (as per the tooltip of the Flameberge legion arm), making it a good choice for the boss fight.

First phase of this fight ended and I was thinking this boss was pretty easy for a mainline boss. Second phase humbled me real quick
Right xD
I was suspicious after beating the first phase and was thinking this is too easy there’s no way that was it lol
The second phase has really bad tracking issues when this thing starts going nuts so does the camera I can't block what I can't see
@@lizardpeople Yeah it was annoying, it either tracked the front or back of the boss, usually I went for the back with less chance of it flipping and tossing me over...
Wait you guys thought the first phase was easy?
When the second phase started i couldn't help but cry uncontrollably.
😂
Lol 😂 x 2
For me the biggest fight was with the camera in phase 2.

for real! he is seriously so talented 🙌
i cant believe this is a 30+ hour campaign linear game, that is a lot of damn content cause normally linear games are about 15-20 hours long. hats off to round8 studios, magnificent job
Despite the reviews, I think the combat system is actually really nice.
@@repstylegaming9730wait reviews said the combat was a let down?
If so that's crazy with the assemble weapon system, you can create and make a weapon that is unique.
@@menaceiwill1 A lot of people love using heavy weapons, and the lack of poise in this game can make it quite unsatisfying to use them. On top of that, without the recovery roll, you can get 100-0ed really easy by some enemies, and lack of control about what is happening to you feels really bad and clunky. But those are the only real critique points I have about the game's combat, aside from that it's really fun and good.
@@lehiergendwo8291 arr I see. Yeah I get that, but I am using a strength build, but focusing on parry timing as it does alot of stagger damage. There is a handle that gives you poise, but can't remember what's it called. Anyways totally understandable, I've got a very heavy stagger and fatal damage build.
It is mad fun.
These playthroughs are great to watch. It seriously helps me learn his move set. Good job btw!
2phaser as the 4th bossfight is crazy. Im loving the shit out of this game man.
6th boss actually. Mad Donkey and Survivor are bosses.
@@porcelainpup I don't really count them. Moreso mini bosses.
@@porcelainpupthis would be the 7th boss then, there’s another stalker before the cathedral (I forgot her name)
@@c.9858 i miscounted. Eight if you include the puppet of the future. As foor the cathedral stalker, I never fought her. She just gave me the key.
If they don’t have a cutscene then they aren’t a boss. They’re a mini boss
Those cutscenes, that second phase, that Duel of the Fates sound alike OST DAMNNN! THIS GAME IS SO FREAKING GOOD!
Learning this boss and beating it last night was hell for me I can only imagine what you go through learning how to flawless 😅. Your a monster dude good shit
Amazing as always. Good stuff Eso
Brilliant upload Eso 👍Players complaining the parry window is dam tight !! Hope the devs widen it a little then...Loved what iv seen so far on this soul like game, keep up the good work 👏
Man I thought it was impossible. But you made it possible.
Perfect timing dodging and also when perfect parring it's harder but you made it look so easy.
Bravo 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
This fight was such a fun! I mean, I got killed, a lot (I'm not a soulslike player so Im not a good player whatsoever) but for me this was the real introductions about the game's mechanics. I just preffer to parry and stay still as much as possible, and running instead of dodging, cause otherwise I Iose my focus and start panicking lol
I am in awe of your skills. You've inspired me to use more dodging rather than always trying for that perfect block. Thanks for the upload!
I prefer to do a perfect block. More like Sekiro!
I finally beat him after nearly 2 hours of trying. He was tough
And annoying tbh
Annoying
@@fishie00 yeah. Sometimes it felt like getting hit by him wasn't meant to happen sometimes
Im literally crying 😂😂 i was getting my ass handed to me thought i was the only one
Did you use this same build?
Am I the only one that would’ve liked for them to widen the parry window? Especially because this game gives you many ways to evade/take dmg, usually games stick to one of these, but it almost feels better to just dodge instead of parrying, even tho the parry can interrupt/break the enemy’s weapons. It just doesn’t feel good imo
Perfect parry allows you to crit faster. Game gives you options, I think they wanted to keep it a small window for players that want to test themselves. There's easier ways to play if you don't want to struggle as much.
It’s all people have been talking ab so u are DEFINITELY not the only one… lol
The crit window in this guy in particular’s attacks are like fucking ludicrously small I get wrecked by just about everything
Don’t know what you’re talking about, dodging sucks and is completely useless with how slow it is and how slow stamina recharges and feels like the i frames on the dodge are even slimmer than the parry window
I don't mind the parry window but I wish it was more useful to parry, most of the time after parrying you get pushed out of range and you can't deal damage
God this boss is so fucking good. I love how this game allows different playstyles. I used nothing my perfect guards.
A beautifully designed boss + no frustration = LOVE
As soon as I seen he didn’t change anything in half of its health, I was like fuck there’s a second phase
When I saw that thing falling from the ceiling, my only thought was: "What in the Bloodborne is that?!" His second phase broke me so fast...
Thank you so much just beat him after watching this
Nice. Do you have any of the upgraded dodges or is this the standard dodge? I hate the dodge in this game, but its insane yours were flawless
I think he is using the fast dodge
@@DevilMayPodcastYT I've been debating putting quartz into the dodges, I'm just not sure if its worth it. I was able to take the archbishop down without dodge and only a few hits with block. Which I prefer anyways, since I have great gains with return HP
@@J-Sinfor sure the recovery dodge is worth investing in to get up from a heavy hit before a follow up.
@@IconOfSin yeah, I eventually did it. Not what I expected, but def better
Its not about upgrading your dodge i noticed that dodge is kinda like a perfect parry where in you need to dodge at the perfect moment in order to not take damage unless you dodge far out of an enemies range you need to time the dodge perfectly and you’ll never get hit even if the enemy is right on you
this boss makes you feel so badass once you get it down
I respect that. great play indeed.
as a rookie on souls games, these camera angels makes it imposible to guard on time..
Gracias a tu video le gane sin invocar a nadie y solo recibí un golpe
Well done! Stagger + Elemental
simplst thing u can do is take the wrench handle and krat police baton, and upgrade them heavily i would recommend motivity crank. Then upgrade fable attack in p organ, equip fire grindstone use the fable attack for the handle then hold the fable art until the boss comes at you, u can remove half his health easily. also use flamberge and overheat him u wont even struggle to kill him no matter how bad you are. commenting everywhere to help people
imagine beating a mutated archbishop with a baton.
😅
This is one of those fights where I was thankful there was a summon. There’s literally way too much going on in the second phase. This boss becomes ultra aggressive especially it’s back side
I feel like once you get a grasp on the main idea, and movesets/windups it all boils down to aggressiveness. I think a lot of people screw up by being either too aggressive or not aggressive enough. IMO these bosses aren't at all like souls bosses where sometimes shit you couldn't account for just happens. These are a lot less complicated, yet challenging. One thing that helped me a shit-load was spending a lot of time during the demo mastering that perfect guard, obviously each enemy is different but having a confident feel for it certainly helps I believe.
The second phase becomes much easier once you get used to its move set in the first phase. It’s pointless to fight archbishop himself, he’s very hard to be hit and his moves are nasty. Just fight his butt instead.
Ironically, this was the first boss I decided to challenge myself and try to beat without a Specter. And I still got through it faster than Fueco...
@@N0PH0B14 I like how the Nameless Puppet fight doesn’t give you the ability to use a specter. It forces you to fight him by yourself.
This is probably the hardest Soulslike I’ve ever played. And this guy eventuates that. That second phase was a nightmare
Doesn’t mean I haven’t had fun. But god it’s hard
my monitor nearly got punched with my fist because of this boss..
Have you thought about doing a complete walkthrough of these type of games?
Well played. Good timing/use of flamberge before criticals. Except I used perfect blocks instead of dodges. 💪🏻🔥👍
Doesn't matter the game you play you are the best.
Jesus you bullied the crap out of him at the end 🤣 nice work dude
On my first try i was able to make the boss reach half hp.When i saw no distinguishable phase change i knew it had to had a second hp bar
Oh boy being right was never so terrifying
Which level you had during this fight? The damage of the simple dagger is very strong
Stats dont matter that much, its because boss is weak to fire
Now I can see why I struggled so much with every boss, I'm fighting 100% parry, no dash, no elemental damage 😅
No dash are you special?
@@dylandempsey2858I was told this game was parry heavy and that dash had no I frames so I just started using parry. Big mistake apparently
Seems like a nice mix is the best option, though I still end up dodging over parrying 90% of the time. Not quite souls, not quite sekiro. I think the block/health regen system makes a nice safety net for parrying though
same ^^ i always parried aswell but good thing is now im pretty good at it :D
I parry in this game a lot and it’s so much easier than dodging for me
If you don't mind me asking, about how many tries did it take you to do this?
hello very good fiht, congatrulation.
I did the same by dodging the attacks. It seems to work pretty well with all the bosses anyway.
So I thought you had to parry most of his attacks, thanks for this vid
Thank you very much for making us look really bad :D
Dude this is proper
How long did it take you to master this i cant even get off a couple perfect parrys im so jealous
Er pariert nicht, er weicht perfekt aus!
Diesen Boss perfekt zu parieren ist fast unmöglich.
They didn't use perfect block, all dodge.
@@MaxMustermann-zs2egno it’s not just takes practice
@@MaxMustermann-zs2egno it's not it's actually easy only the first phase tho
@@MaxMustermann-zs2eg I used parry when fighting with this boss and it takes me 40 mins to win
Amazing
I don't understand how you avoided the blue laser attack at the 50% hp mark in phase 2. The only way I found to reliably mitigate it is to sprint as far away as possible. If I didn't have full stamina when he started to charge it, it's guaranteed death.
Just need to strafe to the left and away from the boss a little bit, avoids it every time
you can sit under him to avoid the laser, and then run to that side to avoid the slam down
I was just going in and praying for a stagger when it did that because I also couldn't find the safe spot. Thankfully it worked, that's how I finally killed him
I used my thermals in the first phase thinking it was over😅 malenia all over again.
Been fighting this boss for about an hr or so, ive gotten to point where im perfect guarding every attack all the way up until hes about 1/3 health left of the 2nd phase. He keeps one shotting me with that dumb charge up ability and then if i go under to avoid the charge beam the centipede part will slam the ground and one shot me even tho ive tried rolling, dodging, blocking, and guarding so i wanted to see how other people avoide and i gotta say i didnt even think you could run the side of him like that to avoid both attacks, so im definitely trying that
I guess you failed the vigor test lol
@@MaidenlessScrub 20 vigor is a good bit
@@richards3237 you should be at full health and you'll survive that laser attack
If you place yourself near the big head, after the beam is done, his body protects you from the AOE. Kinda neat you avoid that spot, then use it
@bryanburk yeah I beat him few days ago, but your right, just need that correct positioning instead of trying to dodge or parry
Good fight!
THATS A BOSS FIGHT! 😱
Wowww side steppin all his sh** nice one!! Took me a while to learn the parry’s he had me hot 😡
Damn. Gg. Now that’s skill.
Let this boss slumber into center Dark Souls 3 Cathedrial , this is one of the epic boss that displays developers how archbishop boss from petrification disease must be , truly work of art
I think my problem was just insisting that I always try to use deflect instead of dodging (most of the time).
Boss had me in the first half ngl. Ended up fighting him 13 times before beating him. Used the salamander blade with the booster glave handle
Amazing!! Short weapon😮
Fire + npc for distraction worked for me
Find it funny to see this uploaded just after I beat this boss lol
That means both of you have made the same progress
Bro that dagger has longer range than my greatsword
This boss is truly a nightmare. I hate it when video games try to make something too scary but this did it perfectly. It was unexpected and something brewed straight from hell.
For some reason this fight reminded me of Rykard, from Elden Ring
I feel I would be enjoying this game so much more either if the perfect guard window was bigger, or if it didnt feel like every attack had a deliberatelu unintuitive rhythm. The two together, along with weak dodging and no cancel attack makes for a mostlybaggravating experience.
Of course our Lord and Saviour Esoterrick has already mastered this game
On my second playthrough, I realized the reason his first phase's head is upside down is so it can gaze up at the "angel" head, symbolizing Andreus's arrogance and messiah complex. Hell of a design.
Muy bueno!!
How many attempts?
This was like Aldrich from DS3 mixed with bloodborne DNA
My favorite fight
Was kinda stuck on the guy. Didnt die that often yet, but i was also not making progress...
Just needed this video to remember i can dodge... i suck at perfect guarding :p
So more dodging and being less greedy did the trick =) I did get hit though... a lot :p
Oi oi oi, its the Semon of Dong!
Bruh how did he get that power
What weapon is that? Ive never seen it before.

Yea this boss is hard especially when it starts going nuts and uses it long half to attack from far within the blink of an eye
How do you sidestep like that instead of rolling? 😮
It switches to that when you're locked on to a target
it reminds me of sister Friede's 3rd phase
worth merging the baton handle with the salamander!?
I used it because I like the attack animations, and I had a Motivity Crank on it which helped my build with Motivity Scaling. The salamander itself is worth using on the boss for sure though
@@Esoterickk thanks man i took it for a spin and i fully agree :)

I didn't realize you could just walk around the boss to fight the easier side in phase 2. Pretty hilarious.
I didnt get the Ergo from the boss even though I have beaten it
Wait, how to dodge, i only know pairing
First phase is ok and manageable then the second phase… holy sheet.
Wow that seemed pretty easy, now let me go and try him again 😂
I feel like they patched this … it’s a lot harder to stay behind him now in phase 2
HOLY SHIT SHE HAS A MASK
Very easy and fun boss
I wanna drop this game
Maybe to my own fault, I am making things harder for what it should be. I always get tempted to parry attacks instead of dodging that always end up bad for me. Probably a Sekiro syndrome..
The game wants you to parry/block more than dodge, similar to sekiro. This fight became so much easier when I started learning his attacks and blocking/parrying, instead of dodging everything.
Either works great they just do tell you your dodges have to be perfectly times just like a parry unless you have enough space to dodge out the range of the attack you’ll most likely get hit
fully convinced Eso is either an AI-bot with immaculate gaming performance, or hes has some kind mod engine that universally allows him to evade all damage perfectly. some of these i-frames seem way longer than actual game play.
This mf is goated
aha I just have to keep up at it then.
(im a filthy dex user who likes to parry because i cant get out of range most of the time)
Is this normal? Or cheat to fast movement
Of course it's without cheats lol, just have light equipment load for better dodges
Hi is it below 60% gives u fast dodges or below 50-40…
The intro cutscene and the second phase cutscene go hard asfffff

I cant remember where i read this but after this boss there should be the phonecell with the riddle ring again ;)
