To many remember about 1.6 and forgets 1.5 was the first game and better then 1.6
Why is better?
I'm playing CS 1.5 for the first time in like 20 years and there isn't a huge difference between 1.5 and 1.6 other than famas galil and shield

First game? 1.5 was just a continous patch line from Counter Strike 1.0.

God, i used to have the entire buy menu memorized to keys and could load out in half a second. Sooooooo many countless hours of CS 1.5 played back in high school. and quake 3 arena
i used to bind keys to buy everything i need so i was just pressing one key and had everything
scripts to the rescue. you do know there are console commands for everything that you can queue and bind to a key?

Man, my friend and I used to play the shit out of CS 1.5. We used to have the mod version, I usually got the patches from a local games magazine (NAG) or sometimes he would download it with his 56K modem and take like the whole weekend to download it, just so that we can play, lol. Fun times playing with a 220-235ms ping on local servers with 56K, will never forget!

I can't believe the map looks this bad. Id play this back in 1.5. CS 1.5 was my pubbing days. 1.6 was my competitive days. 1.5 was so much fun. Fell in love with it instantly and played CS for another 15-16 years or so.

CS_Mansion, i noticed it the moment i looked at the thumbnail. The first time i ever played cs was 1.5 at a birthday lan party when i was in junior high and we played this map first. A bunch of 13 year olds holding down the triggers and sprayign bullets anywhere. none of us except for the birthday boy knew how to play, it was a silly time. Always pained me that it basically vanished before i started playing in full in 1.6. I downloaded it to play in condition zero once in a while, makes me feel nostalgia every time. (Tho the CZ bots are hysterically dumb on the map)

Plot twist: the m16 used to have a scope, that's why when you kill somebody in the 1.5 it appears as a scoped m16

PODBOT 2.5 was so damn good and impressively programmed AI back then. Too bad it died when CS1.6 came out because it was incompatible with it.

@@skull_hn That's the old PodBOT 2.5. That bot had a simple bot chat system so bots could write a variety of things in the chat. That was the most used bot for all CS versions prior Steam (including the very old CS Beta versions around 1999/2000).
