    TLDR AT BOTTOM-- You may not need to replace the whole tail light at all actually, that is only if there is noticeable corrosion on the "circuit board" built into the tail light assembly, however if yours doesn't have noticeable corrosion like mine didn't the issue is actually a "bad" ground. Even if the continuity tests on the grounds for both tail lights are good you may still have a "weak" ground, honestly I'm not sure if it is a wire issue since the ground wires are relatively small for the current they carry, but I think it is an issue with the connector not making good contact specifically on the ground pin.
    The simple way to test if it is a bad ground is just use a wire with alligator clips on it. Unscrew the taillights from the assembly but keep them plugged in so you just have the exposed board and bulbs, just like if you where just changing a bulb, then clip one side onto any point of the light assembly "circuit board" that is ground and hook the other end to a good ground point on the car, the bolt holes for the tail light's work well enough. Then turn the car on and shift if through the gears and you should notice it no longer has the issue with rough shifting and the "prndl" indicator light on the dash going off sporadically. If this works simply add another ground to the tail lights. Adding one ground to either light should be good enough as it was for me but adding one to both wouldn't hurt. How you go about this is up to you but I found it easy to drill a hole through the plastic and feed a wire through, then I crimped a male spade terminal on the end and jammed it under the ground "trace" of the circuit board, then put a ring terminal on the other end and put that on the bolt that holds the tail light in.
    TLDR- If you don't have noticeable corrosion it's likely a bad or weak ground/ ground connection, just add another ground wire to either tail light and it should fix this issue as it did for me.

    Thank you for posting .I could not get a sticker due to the transmission code ... It was my tail light and the circuit board..

    • @AudoFixMobile
      @AudoFixMobile  9 місяців тому

      Yeah this code throws the check engine light. But I'm glad you replaced the tail lamps with the boards and not a transmission. I've seen many people replace their transmission for this code and still have issues.

    Same issue with my versa. Water got into my left tail light and when I turn on the left signal light it blinksso fast. The mechanic told me to replace the transmission range sensor.

      I hope you didn't listen to him lol replace tail lamp assembly. Notice if you disconnect the tail lamps and issues are gone. Only Nissan Techs know about this issue. We see it all the time.

    Circute boards? Mine when the engine light turned on. I scanned it and read p0705 neutral safety switch. But it didn’t loose any power. It feels more responsive. One thing i noticed tho. When moving the shifter from park to drive it slightly jerks like not smooth at all. And still have both reverse lights on and no moisture.

    • @AudoFixMobile
      @AudoFixMobile  10 місяців тому +3

      The tail lamp assembly comes with some board for the light bulbs. You can get it separate. But I recommend getting the tail lamp assembly. It comes with it. Even though you see no moisture still replace. How does it act with the tail lamps disconnected? If it acts up when everything is plugged back in then I will go with the assemblies

    Dealing with the 2016 model of this POS right now. We've just had the CVT, speed sensor, and the range sensor replaced and we're still seeing check engine light and current gear indicator going blank. I'll go get the code tomorrow (we just got it back from the shop yesterday and the check engine light came on an hour ago), I hope that this is it! I will be glad to be done with the issues this car keeps throwing me.
    I do have a question though; have you noticed that the affected tail lamp will cause the turn signal to flash rapidly as if the bulb were burning out?

    • @AudoFixMobile
      @AudoFixMobile  Рік тому +3

      Yes, due to water intrusion it will have your flashers go crazy. Water does not go well with electricity. You have the electric board on the tail lamps. I had a car come in for check engine light and it had this codes thinking they had a bad transmission. I noticed when I drove it that the left turn signal will rapid flash. Turns out it had water inside the tail lamp. So versas are worldwide known for this issue. Check tail lamps first for that P0705 Range Sensor code. It's 100% tail lamps assemblies.

      Most likely it was never a transmission or any of those sensors to begin with. Only Nissan technicians would know this. Any independent shop or a regular mechanic out there could not know. Unless they did research

    Never experienced your water in taillights problem with my 2014 Versa Sedan but maybe it’s specific to your 2018

    Did your vehicle actually give you any transmission like issues? Like slipping or not responsive after a stop sign stop
    I’m having this issue right now with my car I’m just trying to get some more insight on it

    • @AudoFixMobile
      @AudoFixMobile  Рік тому +4

      Most likely you have a transmission issue because it's common on the CVT transmission. They are all bad. But make sure what codes you have stored. It will give you transmission issues yes. The Range Sensor code. Just replace tail lamps

    Does it bring problems if tail lights bulbs are replaced with leds? 2018 Nissan Versa ...

    • @AudoFixMobile
      @AudoFixMobile  11 місяців тому +2

      Shouldn't be a problem. Unless your led bulbs are using a lof of power and you are getting the hyperflash when using turn signals. I would suggest buying resistors if you really like those leds. Transmission wise no. Unless the circuit boards are already exposed to water then I would replace the lamps and install your leds on those.

    What circuit board do i need to replace? 2019 nersa, Blinker issues, transmission issues.

    • @AudoFixMobile
      @AudoFixMobile  9 місяців тому

      Circuit board on the tail lamps. It can be sold separate. But I recommend buying the entire assembly since it comes with new boards and bulbs.

    I was also told it eas my transmission and need to be replaced. When i have headlight off and turn on left blinker or hazard, my LCD display going on and off. Also after the blinker is use, the transmission acts up. After using my left blinker and coming to a stop, the transmission slams into first gear causing a loud bang. It is like if you had a bad motor mount causing engine to move causing the banging noise. First time it happened, Nissan dealership fixed it but as they said "they really didn't know how they fixed it. They replaced my rear light bulbs, and, I believe, the connector that goes into the back of the actual rear light assembly. Now it is happening again. I feel it is a grounding issue, but I'm not sure if it is in the light assembly, the actual switch for the left and right turn signal or possibly the wire harness with connector that goes in the back of the rear light assembly. Now due to codes it is stating neutral safety switch. I was think on trying ro reset ECM via the sequence of turning key in ignition and other switch.
    Does anyone have something similar to my problem and have a better idea on what should repaced?

    • @AudoFixMobile
      @AudoFixMobile  11 місяців тому +2

      What dealership was this and where? I'm curious. If I was in your place what I would do is remove the rear tail lamps and disconnect the lamps completely. Drive the car around a parking lot, obviously not in the streets, and see how the car drives. We are ruling out the possibility of bad circuit boards. Water intrusion in these all the time. Also they should of replaced the entire assembly that comes with the circuit boards not just the bulbs. Compare how it drives with rear tail lamps connected and not connected.
