This is so refreshing like 191g and 27mm in the heel is more than enough cushion for 10k and 13.1 miles. This could also really be great for workouts as well.
Can't believe we are already in the 9th generation, had the 3, 5 and 6 then completely forgot about this shoe line until I saw this video. 191g is crazy light!
I've tried the adios 9 for about a week now. Certainly one of the most fun shoes I've tried ever! It's reminiscent of the rebel v2, v4 and the hyperion 2 but even better. Compared to the rebel, the adios 9 has better energy return and very resilient, not mushy yet it doesn't bottom out. More stable too! Definitely one of the best low stack shoes ever.
1. Durability with the GCPU compound of the outsole 2. How does it compare to TS10 and Evo SL? will we be getting the TS11 soon (if we ever to belief sources from reddit?) 3. Bottoming out on more than 10km? 4. Is it too soft for road, hence this might be more suitable for track/ripping off treadmill?
I am absolutely buying this! Clicked on the video in a fraction of a second of spotting it!! And, obviously your review is as usual high quality and highly useful. I also think Takumi Sen 11 is going to be a banger of a shoe!
These new adidas lineups, are just sooooo aesthetically pleasing! As much as I dislike the company as a whole, their designers are just top notch when it comes to the running department. I can’t wait to pick these up, in a white colorway.
I’m actually very interested in this shoe, I don’t feel like other brands really have competitive options for a low stack short distance race shoe. Between the Takumi and The Adios I am very excited to try these as most of my races are 5k-10k and sometimes feel like I’m missing that low to the ground light and fast feel that I don’t get in 40mm stack carbon race shoes.
just walked past adidas store and saw it at 20% off. i hesitated, but went for it. it exceeded my expectation. the lightstrike pro in these felt way softer than the ones in pro 3.
I didn't really consider buying them, but after your video I'm seriously thinking about it :D They seem perfect for track sessions (especially if you don't want to run in spikes).
It's finally here! I was waiting so long I bought the Adios 8 instead. Is this more rockered though? Still interested in it. I previously had Saucony Sinisters but the uppers wore out fast, plus they were quite narrow
nice review. already owning the celio Road you have to help me justify buying this shoe. 😁 so if I want to give the adios a try my takeaway is not to buy the adios 8 and wait for the 9
Would you say it’s comparable to the Nike Streakfly? Looks like the Streakfly 2 will be much more rigid and agressive (almost like a spike for the road), so a good alternative for a lightweight, flexible, responsive shoe for short intervals would be great and the Adios sounds like it might be exactly that!
Saw a Japanese video which showed it had a small nylon plate in it (I think). In this way it's quite similar to the Evo SL? Alex, any opinion on whether the Evo SL makes the Adios 9 redundant? Or are the foams different and the Adios has more bounce?
Evo SL has a different foam I believe. But to be honest they're not redundant. Evo SL for everything except intervals where the Adios 9 will shine much more.
what about the size compare to adios 8? i'm wearing size 7uk in adios 8. should i take 7.5uk for adios 9 because i notice that there's some cushion at the heel counter section. adios 8 got just very tiny cushion (almost none) at that section.
I thought the 9 only had a shank in the midfoot, giving some stability. Also, what is the midfoot diameter? The 8 was somewhat roomy for an adidas shoe...
Remember Dennis Kimetto who won the Berlin marathon (2h02min57s) with Adidas Adios Boost 3 (23mm/13mm). Don't you think that shoe brands are trying to sell us everything they can and make us believe that we will soon have to run with shoes with 50 or 60mm soles? After carbon, ultra soft maximalist soles, and then what? Are we going to lose the values of running and sensations? I'm not a pro-minimalism at all, but I think it's going too far. To the point that we wonder if our distance will depend on a sole height...
Yes indeed. I think that's the shoe I used for the only marathon I've done many years ago. This would actually be a significant improvement on those really. Crazy.
For adidas, I usually wear UK10.5. But for Adios 8 I had to downsize to UK10 because even at UK10 I still have the same length as UK10.5. Is version 9 is also long or true to size?
Awesome video mate, i use the adios 8 for some daily runs (up to 10km) as well as workouts. Do you think the adios 9 will have the same durability? The outsole looks to be much less hardy (though hard to tell through video alone). Thanks for all your work mate, great stuff.
Puma Liberate Nitro 2 is great shoe for intervals and 5k,10k racing. It’s very light (204g) in my size men’s UK 9. It’s got a Highly durable outsole . Do checkout Liberate 2 if you are looking for a lightweight shoe that can handle speed workouts.😊
This has been my faithful low stack daily trainer for the past couple of years. Although the 9 looks like it has its pros, I have a feeling it's not going to be the daily replacement I was hoping for ☹️
@AlexFilitti sure. I found the 8 to be great for low stack daily use, and that the firmer foam provided a stable and a sensible ride. This just looks a little too crazy and unstable imo. Do you think I'm wrong? Would you happily use it daily as a mid/forefoot striker?
I'm the same, use the 8 for workouts as well as daily runs. My worry is that the outsole looks to be cut down. Doesn't look like it will have the durability of the 8, I hope I'm wrong.
@@bildotunechi I own the adios 9 and I feel pure bliss when running. It's low stack so it's definitely more stable than the rebel v4 or the 1080 v13 imo, and also the puma dn2 if you can compare to that. I don't have the adios 8 but I definitely feel stable when landing mid/forefoot like you.
How is possible that they still not specify in the web if there is a plate or not? The marketing department in the shoes industry still the worst I ever seen.
Finally some sanity in the running shoe market. Those evil super stack shoes with horse shit carbon plates be gone. Adios 9, bringing the romance back to running. Feel the road! Alleluia!
In a world where everything is a super stack of +35mm trainer, this is refreshing. Can't wait to get a hold of one.
It is refreshing indeed and has that modern vibe to it nevertheless
Sounds absolutely amazing. Adidas bringing the Adios back to its roots but modernizing it with the LS Pro foam.

New heel? Perfect. Was a big problem with version 7,8.
Killin it with the content Alex👍
Thank you!! Really appreciate it
This should be superb shoe. Better and cheaper than Nike Streakfly. Heavier, but probably more durable alrernative of Saucony Sinister
I am far more excited about this shoe than EVO SL and will probably replace my Takumi Sen 8s as Speed day training shoe.

Did you try asics tarther rp3 ?
@ never heard of it, I’ll give it a look.
@@JacobiusSuarinious-u2k l think tarther is better than adios8... But I don't have adios 9...

How does this compare to the Takumi Sen 10? Are both shoes for the same purpose? Shorter runs and intervals.

Hi… How is the sizing compared to the Adios 8? Thanks!
Wow, that was a lot of info in a short amount of time, kudos! I wonder how the Adios 9 will compare against the Evo SL.
Can you compare Adiós 9 with Puma Liberate Nitro 2 ❤
This looks intteresting I must say. I want a fast 10k race shoe. This one or maybe the upcoming Takumi sen 11?
I'd say this is more a training companion and TS remains the race day option
Is it comparable to the Streakfly?
Does the width feel comparable to the Adios 8? The platform definitely looks narrower.
Ive always enjoyed running up to half marathons in the Adios range, hope the 9s can also cope with 21km runs.
Yes it comes closer to the OG Streakfly indeed (with a bit less mushiness in the midsole...and a superior midsole compound altogether IMHO)
@ thanks! And I agree: for this kind of shoe Lightstrike Pro is the better foam… Exciting new release, this!
And a upper that doesnt stretch over time?

I believe that the midsole consists of a nylon shank. This would make sense against your comments of it feeling more flexible than the Adios 8.
Thanks Josh, that makes sense indeed and I got the confirmation it's the case. I will add this to my final verdict video.
got the shoe recently, and the price is 7300PHP which is converted to 125usd-127usd or 119eur-120eur.
Just bought a pair of discounted Adios 8 (€ 89) for intervals and reps, so maybe I'll get the Adios 9 next year on sale.
Is tjis durable for training?
running warehouse specs said it had midfoot shank
How is it compared to the Evo SL?
they should use nylon plate and higher stack in this one
How does the midsole feel compared to Rebel V4?
I used my Adios 8 for intervals, easy and even long runs up to 35K. Do you think Adios 9 can work for that kind of sessions?
what about the size compare to adios 8? i'm wearing size 7uk in adios 8. should i take 7.5uk for adios 9 because i notice that there's some cushion at the heel counter section. adios 8 got just very tiny cushion (almost none) at that section.

It runs long too but I prefer my TTS nevertheless, which comes down to personal preferences
@ thanks
I really dont see the purpose of this shoe when there is the Takumi Sen... a budge option?
Way cheaper than the takumi and performs great for intervals on the track. Makes perfect sense to me.
Would anyone wear this racing over a supershoe like the adios pro 4?
I don’t think so to be honest. Maybe TS10 for a 5/10k and even that would surprise me given the benefits of a supershoe like AP4
How does it feel compared to evo sl?
Very low to the ground, more direct, less cushioned, better fit
@@AlexFilitti sounds very good me !!!
shut up and take my money! These looks lovely, would be nice companion to my adios 8
How about asics tarther rp3 ?
What Adios 9? I want Boston 9 back! ;)
Previpus one way better. The new ones too soft and no rods
Just bought adios 8 😢..

its adios adidas ever since I discovered On 😂

Yes!
