Love the dress with the flounce on the bottom. I thrifted a xxl men’s sweater and turned it into a dress after watching your previous video. It was not as easy as I expected. The dress was too short for me. I had to cut up the sleeves into rectangle pieces and sew them together, add to the bottom of the dress. It looked really cute as I loved a little flounce. But then I didn’t have enough fabric to make the sleeves for the dress. I had to use a different top that I don’t wear anymore, cut out the sleeves and sew them on to the dress. The end result turned out really cool. Thank you for the inspiration!
That sounds like an interesting project. Please share a picture if you can. You could also try pulling it down and Ironing the fabric. You can really stretch it out that way. But what you made sounds pretty cool.
Thank you! Great idea! I've lost a bunch of weight and I have a few dresses I can resize using this method. I wonder if you really needed to take off the ribbing, especially the cuffs if you do not want to shorten them?
Of course you can leave the cuffs and the ribbing. But if you want the bottom to flare out, you need to do the thing with curving the bottom of the sweater before you put the ribbing back on. Otherwise the bottom of the dress will hang funny.
I have been wanting to say something about this but don’t want you to take it wrong. The music is fine, but the volume can be lower. Also, it will be good if you have a few to rotate to keep it fresh. Your videos are very informative and clear, I will watch them regardless. But music will make it more enjoyable.
Got it. Thanks for the feedback. Tbh, the music is the last thing I want to deal with when I edit. I'm just trying to keep it simple but not boring. I'll mix it up.
That’s adorable!!! I love how the ironing made the ribbing look flouncy!! Great job! -Alicia
Thank you!
