In the olden days of Saint Chartier? I heard many a tale whilst at LSC this year - it sounded incredible! The big ones are hard to manage though :-( and all good things must come to an end! LSC is a fitting continuation and such a wonderful setting!
@@MelBiggsMusic looks like I have to Return with my kids soon :). Last Time was 2008 I think, working for a luthier. I can‘t tell anything reasonable about 1996 though it was completely overwhelming and grande and I fell in love with a girl from Barcelona in a way you only can do when 16 ;).
@@fischerenzI think my first year was 2004, but I clearly remember meeting you, Norbert, Nora and Vivien in the B&B in Vic. Probably also Helmut Gotschy. Good memories indeed 🌼.
What a lovely video, thoroughly enjoyed watching that on this very wet morning. Great memories for you and what an experience. Feel the fear and do it anyway! After all, whats the worst that could happen 🤔
Thank you so much Mel. You do so.much for others by passing on your knowledge. I too have wanted to go to that festival for years so it was a great incite. I loved your honest chat. I've been a bit down recently about my own music not coming to.much and have been thinking very much like yourself. I'm determined to set my musical spirit free. Good luck for the future. Simon
Hey Simon!! How wonderful to connect with you on here - long time no see! You know you were a big influence and inspiration to me in the early days? Don't give up - we can get through this patch 😁 I've found just complete joy in sitting down and noodling on the Handry with small agendas - nothing too much. And that leads to hours of fun! Hope you're well apart from this small confidence blip - thanks so much for commenting! X
@@MelBiggsMusic lovely to hear from you. That's a nice thing to say. Thanks to your festival video I was inspired to make up a chilled melodeon tune that I'm.pleased with. Will put vid on my FB feed when got a mo to record. I've been more in the Irish and blues zones and you made me think 💬 need to get back to french dancing an well as playing.
Thank you for the video, we used to live 30 mins from there and I volunteered to be on the committee when I lived there, so have been to many and to the ones before they were Le Son Continu, the boeufs at St Chartier at the Auberge de les Maitres Sonneurs. I was unable to get to France at that time this year so went later but my friends went and said they ran out of beer as there were so many people. Planning to go next year well in advance.
Lovely video, thanks for sharing the lovely festival and also closing thought and reflections 🙂 just what I needed to hear right now, I find myself doing things for others that I don't do for myself and struggling with ADHD. True about doing something physical 😀
Getting out of your head and onto your body can be really difficult! Pilates really helps me redirect focus. But just doing it can sometimes be a huge barrier!!
It was the 5th time at the son continu for me this year and you made a great resume! Thank you a lot, but also made me sad because festival season is over :(
So much pressure put on oneself to “achieve”..I don’t think there’s ever an “arrival time” because the whole achievement thing is an illusion. Life plays the music, dances the dance ❤ and getting drowned by the drones 😁 . Thank you for sharing ❤️
Enjoyed this very much. However, your bits about self-belief and playing and giving up and starting again etc makes me realise just what a mess I'm in with my music.
Lots of love to you Mr E. As it was horndance day yesterday, I was reminded of our great time meeting in person 2 years ago and what fun that was to share music together 🥰 try to focus on the small joys of making music - your grandsons dancing to it, the physical feel of holding and hugging your melodeons. Don't let the big stuff ruin your joy. Xx
Gosh, it looks like heaven!!
A little slice of, yes, absolument!! 👌

Whoop!
Wonderful to see oneself during the Kazoo session ;-)
That was a highlight! Definitely fitted in with the Quidditch World Cup and The Shire references 🥰
First time 1996. I was bloody 15 years old. Forever in my memories.

Ah how wonderful! It's such a beautiful place 🥰 yes the beer ran out and the dance floors were over crowded but it was still a great time!

I plan to go again! It is sad, but look at all the happy memories... and there're winter dances to go to! And next year won't be too far away 🥰
