I guess anypony who shares a symbolic connection to the elements of harmony can be called. Think about it. Twilight accepted starlight in the timeline where rainbow dash first performed the sonic rain boom. This technically caused a disturbance in the time force and thus starlight gained a connection to the element of magic. My other theory is that the map can call anyone that is extremely close to twilight. It called spike after all right? Another detail. The castle and map were spawned from the rainbow "pandora" in season 4's finale. This box was connected to the elements of harmony which grew out from the tree once the elements were reinserted by twilight in the season 4 premiere. It was stated in magical mystery cure that twilight created new magic. This new magic is friendship and obviously is connected to the elements. It was also stated that the tree never spawned the rainbow pandora before. Therefore it's reasonable to assume that it was only able to exist through the magic twilight created which is linked to the elements which were put back in the tree. When the box was opened, twilight and her friends were able to restore magic to all of equestria. The box then buried itself in the ground and created the castle. The map was spawned when all the mane 6 sat in the thrones. Spike has his own throne so it's believable the map would call him. The map was only activated by the elements of harmony all joined together. I think the map must be powered by fragments of twilight's intelligence or magic. If it can show specifically where there are friendship problems and who needs to go to solve them, this could be connected to twilight's fate. The tree of harmony's middle symbol is twilight's cutie mark and it existed before twilight was born. So twilight was rated to become the princess of friendship from the very beginning. Celestia must have realized twilight was destined to bear the element of magic since she saw the tree of harmony before and twilight's cutie mark was the same. Starlight could be connected to this because she attempted to use the map as a source of energy for her time traveling spell. If you think about it, starlight wouldn't have been able to use the spell properly without help from the map. This was mostly likely done by using the magic from the map. If the map is powered by the elements which are magic fragments, it' makes sense. Also anyone notice the tree of harmony is shaped kind of like the glimmer symbol in starlight's cutie mark. No other pony was able to use the power of the map to time travel like this. That's why nightmare moon and the changelings were not able to time travel in the alternate time lines. This is because they do not have connections to the elements and cannot harness that kind of power. So starlight unknowingly has a connection to the elements. Before you say it was just a spell, explain why starlight decides to do it with the power of the map? If anything, she could have done it somewhere else to avoid twilight discovering her. There's also energy radiating from the map into her horn when she casts the spell. It was also stated that it was a version of starswirl's spell. A time travel spell that needs power from a specific source and can only be done by two specific ponies? Does anyone else find that a little weird? Also this could confirm mane 7 and star swirl being the creator of the elements. How you may ask? Well, if starswirl's unfinished spell was linked to the elements in magical mystery cure, and twilight completed it thus affecting the elements, starswirl is definitely connected to them. Once again, mane 7 confiiirmed!!
I like Fallen Star, instead of Falling. Falling is more of transforming into evil. Fallen means she already is evil. That's why Angels are called 'Fallen' and not 'Falling'
So far, Season 7 is doing an amazing job in getting me to love Princess Celestia. It used to be so easy to label her as a "God of useless," but these two episodes have humanized her so much, that it's making me take back my jokes. Plus, she makes pancakes. 10/10 Alicorn Waifu.
It's interesting because after the initial confusion of Daybreaker's entrance, Celestia didn't seem at all surprised at what she was saying. In fact, after Daybreaker said "I never should have banished you the moon, I should have destroyed you!" Celestia looked ashamed. Makes you wonder if she secretly had similar thoughts to Daybreaker. If Luna's envy is what made her turn into Nightmare Moon, Celestia's pride could be what triggers her transformation.
6:50-7:00 I love the little details they put into their episodes lately, with the way twilight freaked out you could tell she doesn't consider herself a princess when thinking about those things, And Celestia put pineapple on the second batch of pancakes probably because she saw Luna eat one the other day and thought pineapples would entice her to eat breakfast this time.
I've seen some fan names for Nightmare Celestia. None of them worked except Solar Flare. So considering what I've seen, I think Day Breaker is perfect. But that's just me.
Yeah, it sounds cool and, just like how 'Nightmare' works for luna, it's a great pun that also immediately tells you exactly what she's about. None of the other 'evil Celestia' names I've heard manage to fulfil all of those criteria.
this episode was truly special. did you notice the dream bubble of applejacks parents? :D also, I'm pretty sure the fact that the map chose starlight as the first candidate, and the fact that she was destined to become twilight student (this show is all about destiny with those 6) and the fact that both twilight AND starlight used their magic to bring the map back to life can explain why starlight has a connection to it. and yeah there is a TON of ballerina pony fan art. huh, parental glidence not in the top 4. this season is absolutely killing it with the great episodes!
Derpy's dream was the single most important part of the series. So much character development in only a few seconds. Unarguably more character development than in the entire series so far.
RarityDash's first words at the beginning of the episode: "Oh. How does that happen?" RarityDash's last word at the end of the episode: "Wow" Love the reactions
The table is/was part of the tree of harmony not the elements, I think people tend to forget that the tree is it's own entity and not a slave to Twilight.
You really cant blame peopel for assuming the former bearers of harmony would be the only ones to be called upon by the map considering the tree created the elements in the first place
I'm not sure what some people's problem with Daybreaker's name is. I think it's an excellent name, has a nice ring to it, and doesn't sound like it's trying to be a "copy" of Nightmare Moon too much. It's far superior to Solar Flare, or God forbid, Nightmare Star which sounded like a 4-year-old came up with it. Also, I wouldn't be too worried about how the map can call Starlight. It can be perfectly explained by how Starlight has had a ton of magical connection with the map in the past. And even if she hadn't, the map is connected to the Tree of Harmony, which is sentient and has been proven to basically be able to do anything it wants, as well as plan things ahead and sense/fix things that are wrong in the realm.
I don't think that that's the reason for Starlight getting linked to the map. I think it's more simple: The map is linked to the Tree of Harmony. The Tree itself is what chose whom was worthy to wield the elements. As such, it's its choice as to whom to send via the map. Basically, the map is merely a translator for the Tree's will.
Starlight:" Luna already went to sleep " Celestia:" oh did she now? Seems my job is harder than she thought " Or maybe it's because she had no night sleep *and* had to do a day of your diudys...
16:21 is a star wars emperor strikes back reference in the Luke I am your father scene the part when look says I'll never join you or the ending to return of the jedi
*A Royal problem* I didn't like this episode... Because it was so awesome! I loved it! A princess episode. it's about time. It only took 7 seasons. This totally makes up for last week. Maybe Starlight getting called by the map is foreshadowing of some kind. Now I love Luna and Celestia! Now Luna is my favorite princess next to Furry heart (she doesn't really count, but I don't care) Also, Celestia's my second-favorite. Season 7 episode 10 5/5
NO SHE IS NOT OP! It was a magical equivalent of somebody stabbing a master swordsman with a dagger in the back when they aren't watching -_- "Power" won't matter in either case
So I saw this on /mlp/ some weeks ago when this episode first aired. Thought it was pretty funny. Funny thing about the Map and Starlight: -------------------------------------------------------------------- Starlight's village was the FIRST mission by the map and it's the _only_ mission where ALL of the mane 6 were called, so far. Starlight's time travel shenanigan _broke_ the map after the Season 5 finale. Starlight helped _fix_ the map, and now... Starlight gets called for its _first_ SOLO mission, despite her not being an element. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Conclusion: Starlight and The Map has a bizarre relationship with each other.
This episode is in my top ten or my top twenty favorite episodes of the entire series. Get more in depth with Luna and Celestia (Especially Celestia; since we have gotten more in depth with Luna). Also it makes sense as to why Starlight would be the one to be called; because as she said she's not bias like Twilight is when it comes to the princesses, plus other then Twilight she's the only one that would be powerful enough to switch the princesses Cutie Marks, since she's done that kind of thing in the past. Also I love Princess Celestia, I love Luna so much but this episode combined with Celestial Advice has just made Celestia my favorite princess of the series. Great reaction and can't wait for more! XD.
Also Starlight did mess with the map before; not just once but twice. Although upon saying that I do hope that means that others will be able to be called to the map like Maud, Trixie and the CMC. XD.
Bahara Manssuri: Well no, I like Twilight more than Starlight, but still really love Starlight's character and what they are doing with her character. And can't wait to see what else they have in store with her character.
Twilight was my favorite in season 1, now it's Rainbow but Twilight will always have a special place in my heart just because I got so invested with her character, but yeah I'm loving what they're doing with Starlight, a pretty cool/interesting character.
One of those dream bubbles shows Derpy with a huge crown on her head holding the Twi-scepter. Another shows Doctor Whooves hiding from what appears to be a Weeping Angel, of all things. Man, this episode is great.
The Tree of Harmony is sentient. It knew that the sisters were becoming cold to each other, and it needed someone who wouldn't let royal pretenses get in the way of judgement or a solution. Plus, the shot of Twilight dragging Starlight by her magic and Starlight with the blank expression on her face was priceless. Give yourself a treat - go back to the dream bubbles and take a look at the ponies and their dreams.
I love this episode cause this shows an excellent development between Celestia and Luna and how they never understood teach other’s jobs until Starlight came and decided to change that. Plus, the appearance of Daybreaker was epically awesome.
I just want to say, coming from Bronymonster44 and ZeeDee (Brony Couple Reacts), thank you for not posting image spoilers or releasing episodes ahead of time. Bronymonster44 in his reaction said he found it hard to impossible to avoid spoilers for this episode and knew ahead of time things Zee didn't. I looked up Reactions to MLP episodes, and yours are the most innocent and none-reveal thumbnails ever. Thanks for effort, love the videos and enjoyed watching Season 6, and love seeing Season 7 with you 😎
This episode is all kinds of awesome, it's my favorite of S7 by far! As if Starlight being called by the map wasn't surprising enough, we finally got a story based on the royal sisters which is fantastic. Seeing how the two of them getting more characterization like this was nicely done and makes me appreciate them even more. I was a little cross with Twilight eavesdropping on Starlight again however, her inclusion was funny and adorable(in short, "water under the bridge"). My reaction to Daybreaker was so intense that my body temperature went cold for a moment and my jaw dropped(followed by a huge gasp)! Soon after watching this episode, I began working on a piece of fan art based on Daybreaker because of what I had witnessed in this episode. Great reaction BTW!
1:39 "She doesn't even have a throne, or a connection to it." Except from that one time that Starlight and Twilight combined their magic to reboot the map. Maybe it became aware of her presence then?
so anyone else notice that when luna is hanging lavender on the stain glass there is symbolism since there is discord between celestia and luna. its a nice touch that I just noticed on my second watch.
My theory is that sense the map is connected to all of Equestria, it can call anypony from anywhere. it just always called the main six because they are good at working together, helping ponies, and fixing problems. But as we saw, this time someone as blunt and bold as Starlight was needed. So it called her. I'm just hoping that we get to see some other ponies called by it!
this maybe then greatest episode of this season. i fell in love with Celestia here, she was just amazing, its nice to see the real her. and Daybreaker was freaking AWESOME!!!! am i allowed to make her my new favorite villain even tho she is only a dream? we have all wanted to have a Celestia episodes and this may not be 100% her episode, but it is just as good. i knew you were gonna love this episode. awesome reaction RarityDash
im guessing everyone just had nitemares all the time until nightmare moon was saved by the mane 6 like how it in in real life...once luna came back she made the nitemares go away or help those in nitemares...i guess the ponies just had to deal with nitemares until lunas return..
Celestia rules the Celestial plane, while Luna rules the Dream Realm. Luna became Nightmare Moon, So Celestia's 'evil' self is Day Breaker. I know several ponies that don't like Day Breaker's name... but Hasbro wasn't going to use the 'fan name' of Solar Flare... or any of the other 'fan' created names for an 'evil' Celestia. At least 'Tia looked ashamed when Day Breaker spoke about destroying her sister, rather than banish her. This must have been in her mind when all that took place, way back when. Starlight is definitely OP. But, we see that sometimes, that's needed to put things in perspective. Personally, I liked when Starlight kept on talking and ended up with the whole... 'Not that you can, anyways', and... 'I think I'll stop talking now' :) So, we learned that Celestia can cook, Luna can't, and both are really bad at doing the other's job. Plus, the fact that Celestia isn't 'all powerful' after all, and only presents an appearance of being faultless. As I've said before, I believe Celestia's 'talent' isn't being super powerful, but being wise. She's had well over a thousand years to learn such wisdom, and more probably something like two thousand or more years to do so. If you go back to 'Tia in the Dream Realm and check out the little bubbles... there are several ponies of note. I noted Dr. Whoves, as well as Queen Derpy, with the Twilycane. Probably pondering a decree about muffins :) Yeah, I agree that there is bound to be fan art about ballerina Twilight. And, I hope, of all the Mane Six. If anyone wants a picture idea, how about Derpy looking lovingly at such a figurine of Dr. Whooves, her muzzle propped up by her hooves, with tiny musical notes floating in the air around her and it (anyone drawing this, please send me a copy!) well... enough from me for now, the Frank Pony
I think all the cool names to "Day Breaker" were taken by the fans when they created all those Evil Celestias in their fan works. In order to avoid any (fan) legal issues, they had to get (un)creative. But remember, the Tree of Harmony also had Celestia's and Luna's Cutie Marks on it. Would you still be confused if one of them got called? That thing's sentient, ya know. ;) Though wonder how many will rage quit if it should go out of its way and call someone like Big Mac, Maud or Trixie? ... Oh shoot... That Castle's MALarson reincarnated! EVERYPONY RUN! DX
I don't know why starlight is so hated on this episode is great and starlight is developing so much she is so great and to see me celestial is awesome and at this point I know we get a lot of them but a new Luna episode or even a full blown cadence or shining armour episode idk and yeah starlight added to the map is meh but I'm totally down I'm guessing starlight will get her own throne maayyybbee even princess starlight ~ bleh do not want tho and I can't wait to see more starlight episodes :)
This is such an amazing episode, last writers are doing a killing job. It is amazing that despite all the hate and vitriol surrounding Starlight Glimmer, her episodes end being considered fan favourites by most people. june and july will have the episode 11 and the Three EQG specials and no more regular episode until after July at least irregular episodes will happen this month with episode 12 & 13 which will come out (of memory serves me right and if not please correct me)in Australia next week
so to refresh in season 6 Twilight and starlight fixed the map. I'm pretty sure her magic is connected to the map now and that's why she can be called now
I loved the relationship between the Royal Sisters. Their bickering/misunderstanding is actually something I can relate to, considering I have 2 older sisters, myself. Man looking back, some of my sisters' arguments got real nasty.
i really wish they had explained the whole "Starlight's Magic" thing when she was being called by the map. I really think that her Magic in spice Up Your Life inserted her magic into the map and that was my headcanon ever since that episode.
I'm conflicted. The episodes focusing on newer characters are the most engaging lately. But I still would like the focus of the show to be on the original cast. Besides the excellent Parentsl Glideance, the Mane 6 episodes have been... wanting. I would like to see a better balance of new and old characters. Those dreams, though. Princess Derpy, Doctor Hooves and weeping angels, baby Applejack being held by likely her parents. I'd love to see more Luna dream episodes, so many possibilities.
I cannot say anything... this episode was awesome, it had my favorite characters and how this episode was made, just blew my mind. Thanks to writers Joanna Lewis and Kristine Songco and animator staff for this fucking awesome episode
Next thing you know the map will be sending Trixie on a mission... mostly to keep her the hell away from it. :3 Would that finally be the long-awaited episode where Trixie and Fluttershy actually speak to one another? Seriously, seven seasons and 50+ comic issues and they've never uttered a word to one another on-screen.
I agree the beginning should've had more build up to it. This is something fans have wanted to see, yet it's almost glossed over by how out of nowhere it is.
I'm pretty sure that the map can send anypony it wants, so long as they fulfill the requirements it senses for the mission at hand. I'm looking forward for it to send the CMC somewhere, personally
I believe Daybreaker was not Starlight's dream, but Celestia's. She could have formed because Celestia isn't used to entering dreams and wouldn't know how to avoid combining her own into it. I see Daybreaker as a manifestation of Celestia's negative traits, her occasional pride and neglect for Luna's feelings, magnified and without her positive traits to balance them out. Daybreaker is Celestia's shadow, a concept in Jungian psychology that represents the traits we suppress and deny about ourselves, or even project them onto others instead of seeing what we dislike about ourselves. Just like Luna had the potential to become Nightmare Moon when she was overcome by her envy and loneliness, Celestia could become Daybreaker if she turned evil and was overcome by vanity and the belief she was above all others. Daybreaker could be Celestia's dark side and the doubts and fears she has over what she could become if she didn't restrain her power or care about anybody other than herself; she fears what she is capable of and what she could be willing to do if she became drunk with power.
Something that I just thought of was that if I recall, the map was repaired thanks to both Twilight and Starlight's magic, so with her magic now a part of the map, the map can access her cutie mark and send her on friendship missions. That, or it's a minorish plothole.
Sweet! Does this mean you're going start watching the Totally Legit Series again? Because I think he references this latest episode in his past episode reviews so you'll be good about not being spoiled. :D
It's just my theory, but it might be accurate: I think the reason why the map sent Starlight for this mission is because, if we think logically then basically the map is a part of Twilight castle, and Twilight's castle's box is a part of the Tree of Harmony. And since the Elements of Harmony is also a part of the Tree of Harmony which was first used by the princesses then in conclusion the Map has a connection with the princesses through the Elements of Harmony and the tree. At the end of the episode Luna admitted that "Nopony would be this bold to accomplish something like this" from this we can assume that Celestia and Luna wanted Starlight for this mission, so obeying to their demands the map called Starlight there.
The thing about the map is that it was never stated to only be able to send Twilight and friends, just that it sends the best one for the task at hand. It might even send the CMC in the future. Also I don't think Startlight is OP here for 2 reasons. One cutie mark magic appears to be her special talent and two, she said in the all bottled up ep that her magic gets a boost from her emotions, and she was clearly distressed when they were arguing there.
I think Stalight has been connected to the map since she broke and subsequently fixed it. Honestly surprised Spike isn't ever called by the map though... I mean he got a chair and everything!
Great commentary as always, I'm impressed you managed to not get spoil'd about Daybreaker despite waiting for the US release. 2:43 yea, the map sending Starlight seems kinda weird. 4:25 was that an innuendo? 9:13 was there aver any doubt? 24:56 they probably didn't want to use Nightmare Star or Solar Flare to emphasize that Daybreaker is a different character. And 'not-cannon' so to speak, as she's just dreamed up by Starlight. 26:10 yea, Starlight tinkering with the map on numerous occasions is probably why it can call upon her now, though it came completely out of left field in this episode and should have been introduced more gradually or with any sort of explanation at least.
Stratagem Your last point is the problem that I had with this episode. I enjoyed most it and I like Starlight as a character, but to me she's been developed far too quickly at the expense of the others. To me, if it had been written as her being introduced to the Cutie Map with another character, or the start of individual tasks for the other Elements then Starlight getting a task, I'd enjoy it a lot more. I'm not going to be surprised if she's an alicorn at the end of this season.
Well, of course she's gonna become an Alicorn in the season 7 or 8 finale... I like Starlight, but I really wished they'd handle her growth a bit slower. I mean, right now she's about as strong / stronger than the Element of Magic (despite the latter being an Alicorn) without any proper explanation, a quarter of season 7 have been Starlight episodes and now she gets to use the Cutie Map despite not being one of Elements. A little explanation as to why Starlight is so powerful and why she's connected to the map now, as well as some proper spacing of the episodes (11 episodes in and we got one for each of the mane six, one CMC episode, and three Starlight episodes; plus Celestial Advice being a Starlight/Twilight episode) would have gone a long way in my opinion. Well, can't have it all. Here's to hoping that Starlight being able to be called by the map means we'll have her interacting more with the other members of the Mane Six, so far she's mostly been interacting with Twilight.
I kind of felt bad the Nightmare Moon in this. She was once again overshadowed by her sister, even in the realm of evil. She also wasn't directing as many of her attacks on Starlight and Celestia as DayBreaker was.
On the subject of the tree of harmony being tied to the elements, I can understand your reasoning... However I believe it is tied more to the traits the elements represented in my eyes. Thus, it is tied to those who show proficiency in an element or in case of the crusaders close relation to a direct element bearer. In the case of Starlight, I think it would be something like she is an honorary bearer of the element of magic OR she has a close enough relation so it can call her by that method.
I'm hoping the Map sending Starlight is setting a precedent of the Map being able to send any Pony it needs. I would love for this show to become even more of an ensemble show than it already is, with no real main character.
Starlight Glimmer's Connect can be explained either by using the Map's power for the time-travelling or more like because Starlight Glimmer help fixing the Map. Either way Starlight Glimmer was registered as excess of the Map ... why do you let sound the Map like the Machine form person of interest?
I'm just waiting for a ytp of this where twilight and starlight talk to each other like in Brandon rogers cooking show Twilight: oh, mamma you fucked up Starlight: now keep on talking like that and imma eat yo asshoe
I think that theoretically anypony can be called by the map since, yes the Mane 6 are more directly connected to it what with the Elements of Harmony and the Tree ect. But the idea is that everypony is connected through Harmony to some degree. It just so happened that Starlight was better suited to the task at hand than any of the other Mane 6.
>I want to eat Celestia's pancakes.
So does half of the fandom.
I'm not sorry.
Soup's On, Baby. Dang, you beat me to it.
Soup's On, Baby. I want to as well, but I have a gluten allergy.
I want Princess Celestia to pancake in my mouth.
I would too!
Is this supposed to be some lewd joke I'm not getting?
Ballerina Twilight is love
Ballerina Twilight is life
Ballerina Twilight is best ballerina.
OH YEAH
Luffyiscool oh yeah
To be fair Starlight does have a connection to the map. The first place the map sent them to was her village.
Also she was the one who helped fix it. (and break it)
And made it disappear and then reappear
Good points.

"Your job is so incredibly hard." -Celestia
if only these words had been uttered 1,000 years ago, Celestia, if only...
that guy I actually thought that when I first saw this episode.
@@mlpfanboy1701In that time Luna wouldn't walk in dreams m
Celestia is Day Breaker, Luna Nightmare Moon, Starlight is... Seafood Diner
Actually, given her cutiemark motif, her "one winged angel" form would be:
*Falling Star*
-> Or if you go with her original name: "Aurora Glim"; it could be *Midnight Glow*
Yeah Aurora Glim seems more legit
Argamis (SilverComet) Sounds badass
Starlight's evil side is Starlight with a bowl cut
I like Fallen Star, instead of Falling. Falling is more of transforming into evil. Fallen means she already is evil. That's why Angels are called 'Fallen' and not 'Falling'
So far, Season 7 is doing an amazing job in getting me to love Princess Celestia. It used to be so easy to label her as a "God of useless," but these two episodes have humanized her so much, that it's making me take back my jokes.
Plus, she makes pancakes. 10/10 Alicorn Waifu.
twilight is my waifu 💜✨
My thoughts on the Daybreaker scene:
Celestia: YOU ARE NOT ME!
Daybreaker: I am a shadow, the true self!
David XD IKR
It's interesting because after the initial confusion of Daybreaker's entrance, Celestia didn't seem at all surprised at what she was saying. In fact, after Daybreaker said "I never should have banished you the moon, I should have destroyed you!" Celestia looked ashamed. Makes you wonder if she secretly had similar thoughts to Daybreaker. If Luna's envy is what made her turn into Nightmare Moon, Celestia's pride could be what triggers her transformation.
6:50-7:00 I love the little details they put into their episodes lately, with the way twilight freaked out you could tell she doesn't consider herself a princess when thinking about those things,
And Celestia put pineapple on the second batch of pancakes probably because she saw Luna eat one the other day and thought pineapples would entice her to eat breakfast this time.
Yeah, I assumed that was why she used pineapples the second morning as well. ^_^
So if Starlight hadn't stopped them, the next day's would be banana pancakes! Yum.
Nazo- kage I had noticed the pancake thing too. And maybe she had done that all the time, which made me feel bad for her...
Great detail. :)
Celestia = Daybreaker

Quick Silver87
I think someone just got my rank for best villain in the show. And it hasn't even been that long since the episode was leaked.
Scorching Sun ive seen i think its pretty cool
this episode was truly special. did you notice the dream bubble of applejacks parents? :D
also, I'm pretty sure the fact that the map chose starlight as the first candidate, and the fact that she was destined to become twilight student (this show is all about destiny with those 6) and the fact that both twilight AND starlight used their magic to bring the map back to life can explain why starlight has a connection to it.
and yeah there is a TON of ballerina pony fan art.
huh, parental glidence not in the top 4. this season is absolutely killing it with the great episodes!
That is why i love the show. Such a domino effect of story telling
Derpy's dream was the single most important part of the series. So much character development in only a few seconds. Unarguably more character development than in the entire series so far.
wait so now there 2 more people? Starlight and erm, ehhhh forgot her name x3
Mutton Bash should you be button mash
Mutton Bash hi
Did you notice that Celestia put sleepy Glimmy into her royal bed? She's so selfless and generous!
Shawn Brown Yes, that was adorable.
RarityDash's first words at the beginning of the episode: "Oh. How does that happen?"
RarityDash's last word at the end of the episode: "Wow"
Love the reactions
The table is/was part of the tree of harmony not the elements, I think people tend to forget that the tree is it's own entity and not a slave to Twilight.
You really cant blame peopel for assuming the former bearers of harmony would be the only ones to be called upon by the map considering the tree created the elements in the first place
the fact that the tree created the elemnt makes it more possible, if it wanted to create another element it could..... or something
I knew you'd love this episode. I love as well. This probably my favourite for this season. It was just. plain. AWESOME!!!!
Starlight:" Luna already went to sleep "
Celestia:" oh did she now? Seems my job is harder than she thought "
Or maybe it's because she had no night sleep *and* had to do a day of your diudys...
as anyone who saw the Canadian airing could have predicted, this ep has made the whole fandom explode xD

*A Royal problem*
I didn't like this episode... Because it was so awesome!
I loved it! A princess episode. it's about time.
It only took 7 seasons.
This totally makes up for last week.
Maybe Starlight getting called by the map is foreshadowing of some kind.
Now I love Luna and Celestia! Now Luna is my favorite princess next to Furry heart (she doesn't really count, but I don't care)
Also, Celestia's my second-favorite.

That was RarityDash's nightmare
I broke my scale trying to measure this episode's Awesomeness. Now the real question is how will season 7 top this???
I wonder how DWK going to react to this?
No kidding! I'm waiting for what he comes up with, especially with the introduction of Daybreaker...
Richard Cunningham DWK what about Brawny Buck?

Funny thing about the Map and Starlight:
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Starlight's village was the FIRST mission by the map and it's the _only_ mission where ALL of the mane 6 were called, so far.
Starlight's time travel shenanigan _broke_ the map after the Season 5 finale.
Starlight helped _fix_ the map, and now...
Starlight gets called for its _first_ SOLO mission, despite her not being an element.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Conclusion:
Starlight and The Map has a bizarre relationship with each other.
Dat mumble at the beginning.
Hey everyone raritydash here, time for anuthamalilponifrindshipimagic blind commentary.
I've said these words too many times I think. It ends up coming out too fast.

Next rapper?
Beautiful Face Oh yes, that will be the day!
XD.
Book Lover do u like starlight more than
twilight ? just asking xD
Bahara Manssuri: Well no, I like Twilight more than Starlight, but still really love Starlight's character and what they are doing with her character. And can't wait to see what else they have in store with her character.
Book Lover ok. i like twiley more than starlight too. but like u, i love what their doing with her ^^
Twilight was my favorite in season 1, now it's Rainbow but Twilight will always have a special place in my heart just because I got so invested with her character, but yeah I'm loving what they're doing with Starlight, a pretty cool/interesting character.
Plus we really don't know all that much about the Tree, Elements, and Map, still.
Was waiting all day for this video.
I gotta say, I'm glad this episode got you filled with the brightest joy.
If Spike gets a throne, Starlight's fair game
CouchPotatoCNPB Spike already has a throne.
That's my point, if Spike gets a throne, the map should be able to call on ponies other than the main 6
Chris Kelling You saw princess derpy too?

nice
7:03 subtle thing here but notice Celestia used pineapple on the pancakes when the morning prior lina ate a pineapple
It's interesting how the magic color is related to the cutie mark they have. So it's weird to see yellow magic Luna and purple magic Celestia...
19:32 I can't wait to safe nightmare Moon...😭😢😢😢
*I want to hug nightmare Moon*
Luna is the tops. You see how she bit into that pineapple without so much as a flinch?

From the ending of Home Alone,
Princess Celestia: Luna! What did you do to my schedule?!
Princess Luna:(Gasp) (She's flies away)
And thus the fandom went into a rage accusing Hasbro of stealing an OC design fro the Lunaverse universe of fanfictions
1:39 "She doesn't even have a throne, or a connection to it."
Except from that one time that Starlight and Twilight combined their magic to reboot the map. Maybe it became aware of her presence then?
This is the greatest fan fiction I have ever watched.
I bet Discord would have gotten a kick out of seeing the princesses argue XD
I love Celestia and Luna fighting for some reason. It feels great.
so anyone else notice that when luna is hanging lavender on the stain glass there is symbolism since there is discord between celestia and luna. its a nice touch that I just noticed on my second watch.
4:34 I wish eating pineapple was that easy
Daybreaker immediatley became my favorite villain in the show, even ranked in top 15 of my favorite villains. Also Muffins is best ruler, boite me.
Biggest problem this episode raises is when Nightmare Moon was banished for 1000 years did NO PONY have any dreams or Nightmares?
im guessing everyone just had nitemares all the time until nightmare moon was saved by the mane 6 like how it in in real life...once luna came back she made the nitemares go away or help those in nitemares...i guess the ponies just had to deal with nitemares until lunas return..
20:10 haha I just flopped on the ground like I'm dead!☺😀😃😄😁
I'm so-so-so proud of you
TELL ME ALL x3
AND DONT LEAVE OUT ENY DETAILS
'I think I'll stop talking now' :)
So, we learned that Celestia can cook, Luna can't, and both are really bad at doing the other's job.
Probably pondering a decree about muffins :)
Yeah, I agree that there is bound to be fan art about ballerina Twilight. And, I hope, of all the Mane Six. If anyone wants a picture idea, how about Derpy looking lovingly at such a figurine of Dr. Whooves, her muzzle propped up by her hooves, with tiny musical notes floating in the air around her and it (anyone drawing this, please send me a copy!)
well... enough from me for now,
the Frank Pony
Second best episode of the series.
By the way, anyone else find it funny the map sent Starlight, who was the map's first target in season 5?
shimsok shim Yep! We have come full circle, and Starlight has certainly come a long way.
I'M SO SO SO SO PROUD OF Y- *TELL ME EVERYTHING.*
This is such an amazing episode, last writers are doing a killing job.
It is amazing that despite all the hate and vitriol surrounding Starlight Glimmer, her episodes end being considered fan favourites by most people.
june and july will have the episode 11 and the Three EQG specials and no more regular episode until after July at least
irregular episodes will happen this month with episode 12 & 13 which will come out (of memory serves me right and if not please correct me)in Australia next week
so to refresh in season 6 Twilight and starlight fixed the map.
THANK YOU someone finally notice the weeping angels too
I cannot say anything... this episode was awesome, it had my favorite characters and how this episode was made, just blew my mind. Thanks to writers Joanna Lewis and Kristine Songco and animator staff for this fucking awesome episode

Next thing you know the map will be sending Trixie on a mission... mostly to keep her the hell away from it. :3
Would that finally be the long-awaited episode where Trixie and Fluttershy actually speak to one another? Seriously, seven seasons and 50+ comic issues and they've never uttered a word to one another on-screen.
I agree the beginning should've had more build up to it. This is something fans have wanted to see, yet it's almost glossed over by how out of nowhere it is.
18:45. If starlight cries, my tears spreads out hard😭😭😭😭😭😭
Your reaction was very good 👍 👍 👍 👍 👍
I'm pretty sure that the map can send anypony it wants, so long as they fulfill the requirements it senses for the mission at hand.
It's just my theory, but it might be accurate:
I think the reason why the map sent Starlight for this mission is because, if we think logically then basically the map is a part of Twilight castle, and Twilight's castle's box is a part of the Tree of Harmony.
Again, you found the Dash screen shot. Also you hid Twilight and put Dash close to Celestia as if she was Rarity's stand in.
I mean he got a chair and everything!
to answer your question of how Starlight Glimmer was chosen, my best guess is that it bonded with her when she helped reactivate it.
It'd be awesome if Celestia actually turned into Daybreaker for the season finale!
I saw some people complaining that they didn't show enough of her learning experience in season 6. Maybe they're trying to compensate in season 7.
It's nice to hear the traditional Canterlot voice again.
My theory on why Starlight is called by the map is because she used her magic to fix it in Spice Up Your Life, so now it recognizes her.
I think it's cause they are having her as a main character unlocks the map for her to appear on it for main character missions
What is the song you used on your commentary in the end?
Celestia's Ballad, then Friends are Always There For You.
In the case of Starlight, I think it would be something like she is an honorary bearer of the element of magic OR she has a close enough relation so it can call her by that method.
only after the 8th time watching I saw it, there actually is a frame in which Celestia scowls at Luna while greeting Starlight before the intro
2:07 Celestia- "You are not real and you will never exist again!"
Me- Again? so this has happened before?
I'm hoping the Map sending Starlight is setting a precedent of the Map being able to send any Pony it needs.
I would love for this show to become even more of an ensemble show than it already is, with no real main character.
Starlight Glimmer's Connect can be explained either by using the Map's power for the time-travelling or more like because Starlight Glimmer help fixing the Map.
Either way Starlight Glimmer was registered as excess of the Map ... why do you let sound the Map like the Machine form person of interest?
Who woulda thought two best sisters play would be so accurate
I'm just waiting for a ytp of this where twilight and starlight talk to each other like in Brandon rogers cooking show
Twilight: oh, mamma you fucked up
Starlight: now keep on talking like that and imma eat yo asshoe
Here's a challenge. Take a drink whenever Twilight makes a meme worthy face.
