It’s been pretty emotional revisiting something from so long ago. It’s funny because what brought me back was finding a video of Thomas that spliced George Carlin’s stand up with his narration for Thomas. And from that it felt like I returned to a place I hadn’t been in years, like going home after being gone for so long. I’ve almost forgotten how much of a big part of my life this was when I was a kid.

@@trainofthoughtpodcast it’s a surreal experience. Like I saw an episode I hadn’t seen in some odd 20 years, but I still had moments of remembering certain details as they were showing up on screen
I’m glad others are having this reaction as well. I’ve re-watched a lot of the showed I knew as a child but this one just evokes a very deep, emotional memory from me. It’s sad and happy. I can’t explain it.
Shining Time Station was my go to show from my early days as a toddler until Kindergarten. Thanks for making this possible with who you were able to get to make it happen.

This is AWESUM!! Literally made me tear up!! I was born in 1987 from Philadelphia and Shining Time Station was my FAVORITE show and literally represents my childhood!! The show, the cast, the theme song I LOVE IT ALL!! Thanx again for bringing me back to my childhood and all the great memories!!

Rick should be grateful for introducing my childhood hero to America! Grew up hearing the revealing narrations of Thomas on VHS [mostly with George Carlin], and became, admittedly, a fan of the now well-known "model-era" Thomas [interestingly, now a two-dimensional North American cartoon reboot]! Cheers to all.
Shining Time was one of my favorite shows!
That theme song still brings a tear to my eye. I remmeber so vividly being a 4 or 5 year old kid bugging my mom to turn the show on. Then by the time i was 6 or 7 it was off the air and i became obsessed with trains and thomas itself. I remember one year for christmas all i wanted was the Ertl model of James, and my dad searched EVERYWHERE for it! So i open up my other gifts and there was no James, my parents told me "wait a minute, i think santa dropped something." And sure enough it was the model of James. Sigh miss you mom and dad. Thanks to this for bringing back some amazing memories.
I remember that show very well as a child. I saw the first season and then the show was replaced by Reading Rainbow and then over a year later it returned!
Always loved Shining time Station. Not many people I talk too remember it. They always remember Thomas the tank engine series, but I always liked Shining time Station more. Awesome seeing the cast and how their doing!

This is super awesome that you are interviewing all of these people. I am a big fan of Shining Time Station and even more so as an adult than when i was a little boy. I'm 29 now. It's great to see this even though it would be even more awesome if Ringo Starr (Mr. Conductor), Tom Jackson (Billy Twofeathers), Brian O'Connor (Schemer) and maybe some of the other child actors/characters could be interviewed as well. So many naive kids these days don't know what STS is when they should! It's a great TV show for kids AND adults! One of the best TV shows in existence! If the show were available on DVD, there should the best transfers of all the episodes from the original videotape master elements and extras like interviews, TV spots, audio commentaries on episodes, documentaries, behind the scenes footage, outtakes, screen tests, and more. The show should also have reruns on a retro late-night PBS Kids line-up. Cool video!

Well this is a cool video to discover on youtube. Someone needs to start to get a DVD box set of every episode of "Shining Time Station" released. I remember I was 7 when I was so upset that the show ended.

My husband and I just rewatched Shining Time on UA-cam & I can’t believe this reunion was just added this week! What great timing! We were both such fans of the show & are so grateful to everyone involved for making something so memorable!! Having Shining Time on dvd with extra content would be so wonderful!!! Can’t watch it yet but I wanted to bookmark it because I’m excited for this.
I genuinely enjoyed watching through this whole podcast and seeing some of the cast and crew all together like this. I’m 30 years old and I work in the field of special education and I grew up watching Shining Time Station as a child and it still holds a very special place inside my heart. I still watch Tis a Gift once every year on Christmas Eve. I am definitely looking forward to the second episode in addition to further content on this channel. Thank you so much for helping the light in Shining Time Station to continue to shine bright!

Adrian this is was absolutely wonderful. Thank you so very much from the bottom of my heart of doing this. It means more to me then you will ever know that you made this and brought together some of the people from one of my most favorite TV shows ever. I’m legally blind developmentally disable and on the spectrum. I had just moved out of my parents home into my own apartment in October 1988. I was flipped through the channels on day in the fall of 1989 and I saw a train station, with my love of trains I stopped and watched, the show was Shining Time Station. I was instantly in love with Shining Time Station and Thomas and his Friends. Shining Time Station is one of my most favorite TV show ever. Please I would absolutely love to be able buy the series including all the specials of Shining Time Station on DVD!!!!! Please can you release the whole series including all the specials of Shining Time Station on DVD? It would mean the world to me to be able to watch Shining Time Station again.

For anyone who comes across this podcast the Shining Time Station official soundtrack is finally being released! The first of 10 albums was released not too long ago!
I wonder if the original master tapes to the 1989 season still had the original opening and closing sequences which feature the original Shining Time Station 'oval' logo. You know, in 1992, the Season 1 episodes later used the 1991 'butterfly and bluebird' logo for later reruns until PBS stopped rerunning the show in 1998.

What Adrian said at 22:50 might've what got Mattel strict and rick mentioning in the other podcast that joseph marshall was posting episodes chronologically.
No, the reason this has happened is because Mattel has asked UA-cam content ID to block videos with auto-matched Thomas footage in it, not them manually targeting things.
Hit entertainment used to do this.
