I'm glad my videos helped you find Draftsight. Their pricing doesn't seem too bad. As you say, the main thing is that you need to have upfront capital, but the time gained can also help offset those costs. From the photos on their website it looks like they are the Waterjet company for Bark River Knives as all the knives on the site are BRK models

DraftSight is awesome. I started using it from scratch two weeks ago and love it for making my own knife profiles. With an hour of online tutorials I was drawing profiles.

thanks for sharing,,I did enquire at Creative Watercut in Yorkshire, England, but for the price of two sets of blades cut out I bought my bandsaw,,,as you say in time with more orders it may come to using a service such as this but at the moment it isn't an option for me with my backyard choppers and bushcrafters,,,your Huntsman is a super design though!!! all the best!

Thanks for this info. For me, a knife maker hobbyist, I think I'll use the waterjet process to make the more complicated designs, like a samurai katana. I don't think I could make those nice curves by hand. Since I'm in NJ, I think I might be able to buy the steel and drive it over to the waterjet place and save on shipping. I'll let NJSTEELBARON and NEWJERSEYWATERJET know you sent me there. Thanks bro!

Yes he cuts all of Bark river knives... The reason I use him is that hes reasonably priced, he will cut smaller batches and hes close by, plus my steel distributor will drop off the steel for free. The downside is I sometime have to wait 2-3 weeks for my blanks...

I make all my blank/templates by hand then I send that one to the water jet to copy from to make multiples.

Thanks for the info, if you would make a new one off design by your own design would you start with a watterjetted blank with the general shape and work from there or go back to starting off from stock?

it is not cheaper but it allows you to make more knives with the time you have available.

Hello 3riverblades! It hurts my soul when I listen that you pay for making CAD files of your knives. I would do them for you any time for free!!! Try to scan one of your blanks and email it to me.
