The dispatcher I feel for her along with the entire department . She was there but wasn’t, she had to call out the issue and alert and coordinate from blocks away in a building from the chaos that was going on. I hope she is being helped as well. She kept her composure so professionally.
I thought the same thing, and how well she did her job. As soon as command ordered the evacuation she was on it with the tones. Likely saved other members
He should've never been in there. Losing a firefighter for a destroyed building, should not be acceptable. The Risk vs Benefit model should be, Risk a Lot to Save a Lot; Risk Little to Save Little; Risk Nothing to Save Nothing.
It's a sad situation, Communication is the number one cause of trouble on the fireground. To add to that, I think the radio system buffalo is on needs to change. Digital is the new way to go and they are on a analog system which experience static and other problems in very dense populations
*crying* I shouldn't have listened to this. That poor poor man who lost his life today and all of the talented hard work that went into making all of those beautiful costumes are all gone forever. This is horrible.
R.I.P🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 Why did command put ff in the building? Where there people trapped there, then i can understand why they went offensive. But looking at the smoke pattern you see that a backdraft is coming soon.
That’s our job! He pulled them out as soon as he got reports of danger. We are there to save lives AND PROPERTY. Not stand outside and high five! Don’t add fuel to a fire that you have no business in

I thought the same. She is such an asset to any Fire Department dispatch.

My deepest condolences to the firefighters family colleagues and friends🙏🙏
Rest easy, brother. We'll take it from here.
From a volunteer brother in WV
Heard this on the Lockport scanner. Heartbreaking
The full audio was hard to listen to. The sound of the firefighters voices when they called for the mayday and the scream.. I feel really bad.
R.I.P Brother we take it from here 🙏🏼

So Sad, RIP Brother
Very sad day 😢
It is up setting hearing a mayday call being a retired fire man's son from Scotland as wee can no longer hear the fire calls on the scanner radio.
*crying* I shouldn't have listened to this. That poor poor man who lost his life today and all of the talented hard work that went into making all of those beautiful costumes are all gone forever. This is horrible.

Oh that's why there's a couple streets closed down...
Dude said everybody was ok and he forgot about a missing firefighter?🤨😑
Wtf????
He was talking about when they had a backdraft. Then they called for an evacuation. Thats when they realized not everyone had made it out
Rest in peace brother 🙏
The fact that crews were even inside that is criminal. These officers need to be held accountable
I CAN'T BELIEVE crews were still in there. unconscionable . Who is being held accountable?!

@Robert Zito no property is worth a life.
