- Hier ein für mich sehr besonderer Video-Ausschnitt. Kurz vor WrestleMania X war WWE auf Deutschland-Tournee. Die wunderbare Luna Vachon war zusammen mit Bam Bam Bigelow ebenfalls dabei. In Hamburg wurde ich plötzlich gebeten, mit ihr zum Zahnarzt zu gehen, da sie fürchterliche Schmerzen hatte. Gesagt, getan...Die Zahnärztin sprach kein Englisch, Luna kein Deutsch. Also musste ich Sachen sagen wie "Gleich tut's weh", "Jetzt bekommst du eine Spritze", etc. Ich tat wie geheißen - und es stellte sich heraus, dass eine Wurzelbehandlung fällig war. Die konnte in diesem Fall nur provisorisch gemacht werden, da noch einige Tour-Termine auf dem Programm standen. Aber die Behandlung half, Lunas Schmerzen waren weg - und zum Dank nahm sie diesen kleinen Spot auf, als sie wieder in den USA war...gewidmet ihrer "Zahnfee". Unvergesslich!
Here's a very special video segment. Shortly before WrestleMania X, WWE had been on a German tour. The wonderful Luna Vachon and Bam Bam Bigelow were among the athletes competing. While in Hamburg, I got a call in my hotel room to please come down and accompany Luna to a dentist as she was suffering from terrible toothache and translate what was being said. So we went...The dentist didn't speak English, Luna didn't speak German. So I translated stuff like "This will hurt", "You'll get an injection now", etc. Turns out Luna's pain came from a root canal that had to be done. The Hamburg dentist could only do a provisional one because of more shows to come. But it helped, the pain was gone - and as a little thank you, Luna taped this promo when she was back in the US...dedicated to here "tooth fairy". Unforgettable!
It's those little moments at the end there that make me smile. Luna is having fun.
"It's like using a screwdriver to cut roast beef" is one of the most unique lines I've ever heard in a wrestling promo.

This is great footage alot of people have said Luna was nothing like her character and a real sweetheart I think abit of that comes across here may she rest in peace

Yeah, she was nice person in real life- I once saw Ex-Wrestler Buddy Colt interviewing her and she was completely normal, nice and intelligent! She’s so talented that she could disappear in that heel role she played!
I love her but she was nuts!
As long as you didn't go around pissing her off of course. A pity she didn't even get the women's belt once. Could've had at least a few months reign. Got along with her "rivals" well (except for Sable).

I got to meet her when I was young and she was such a sweetheart. It was when she was in the oddities. Man 25 years ago, I was 15. I won't forget her.

There are many female wrestlers today but they wouldn't be there if not for women like Luna who paved the way for them throughout those tougher decades and kept women's wrestling from dying.

Luna was actually the very first female wrestler to be included in a WWF video game, I think on the SNES and SEGA Genesis. First WWF diva to be in a game was none other than Miss Elizabeth, RIP to both of you, gone but always remembered.
She always reminded me of a one of a kind jewel that had the most jagged edges but also had the richest color and shine to it❤

I was the German WWE commentator for 31 years, and we aired WM X. So we got a promo reel - and this was tagged on at the end of the tape after all the other "real" promos by WWE Superstars as a surprise for me (story above). I have another one by The Smoking Gunns which I'll also post.

I always heard Luna in her real-life was very different from the persona she played on TV, that she was super sweet and soft spoken (not unlike Sherri Martel (RIP to her as well)). Really cool piece of footage, thanks for sharing that with us. :)
@@ajk, it was my pleasure posting this, 'cause I knew people would love it. And why should it rot on my shelf? Yes, Luna was a wonderful, wonderful person - and since you mentioned her, so was Sherri. I knew her well in the 90s. She was absolutely wonderful, funny, warm-hearted - a grand human being. I have another one by the Smoking Gunns which I'll post too this week.
