Exactly. I'm 10 days PO and on fluids the first 2 weeks. Then I'll be on puree for a week, then soft foods for 2 weeks. But this video was done 6 years ago and the med industry changes overnight sometimes. I've lost 14 lbs in these 10 days and I'm still wearing the same clothes. I don't know how she is wearing different size clothes already.
I had mine done September 23 and I’m still on liquids next Monday I’ll be able to start the soft foods... per my dr you have 90 days to be in the clear of any harm and don’t fully heal from the inside for 10 to 12 months. I plan on staying on soft food till I hit 90 days!
Fat Dawny , I agree this video gives inaccurate information, there is no way she can be wearing different clothes in such a short period. I still fit in mine a little lose but not to the point where I have gone down a pant size. Even when my girlfriend had it done 10 years ago she went two weeks on liquids before her surgery then another 2 weeks on liquids then started soft foods. So I don’t see how in the world they are eating what they say. How are you doing now? I was at 266 before and as of today I’m 244.
It would be nice to see an updated video, as I know guidelines have changed overtime, but hearing this from a patient perspective helps ease my anxiety
I'm 10 days post op and was scolded by my surgeon yesterday for eating pureed egg salad. Liquids for 21 days I was told and that's to allow the pouch to heal.
MargaretGwen1957 strange how varied recs are - I had purée week two and soft veggies and proteins week 3-5 (moving to regular foods). I actually never heard of someone having 21 days of liquids - yikes!
I had mine on the 1st of August and after she said that she was eating chicken I had to check how long ago this video was made. It was made 9 years ago. A lot has changed 🤣
I am in turkey and had my surgery sleeve gastrectomy on Monday June 30th. I was discharged Wednesday June 1st. Today is June 2nd. I was able to take a shower yesterday night and was able to walk yesterday and today as well. I am able to drink a lot of water and have not experienced any Pain. I am going on my 3rd day tomorrow!
@@reinajosefina2930 I had the full bypass 10 days ago, and that’s supposed to be more painful. I’m almost 100%. Walking around well, almost no pain. No dumping. I follow the doctors instructions almost 100%. The only real side effects I felt was really sharp gas pains, but that was pretty much gone by day 3. And I was so tired the day after they discharged me. Slept most of the day. Everyone is different though. Don’t be nervous, trust your doctors, you’ll be fine!
Jennah's World I’m praying it only gets better from here. This is not what I signed up for. I took a month off work and there is no way in hell I’m going to be able to go back to work in 2 weeks. When I told my surgeon that I have not had a bowel movement he dint seem to concerned all he said was we cleaned you out before surgery and you aren’t eating much so I don’t expect you to. I was like oh wow and I ended up taking a shot of a liquid laxative. I’m not trying to end up in the hospital. I honestly think something is wrong because I can barely get 20oz of liquids down a day
One week post op. Vertical Sleeve. I did not stay over night in a hospital. My Dr. does these procedures at his own surgery. The first 24 hours I threw up every half hour- bile. I couldn’t keep the oral nausea medication down. The next day I asked about a suppository for the nausea. I got that and a patch worn behind my ear that lasts for three days. What has kicked my slightly smaller 😜 ass is acid reflux. I completely relate to the weakness. Going to try protein shake tonight. Hopefully the shakes will give me a bit of energy.

I had it done 15 days ago and I feel pretty good. No way in this world did they want me to start eating tho. I'm now on strained creamed soups for 10 days and it sucks! And having to take prednisone for a few blisters that popped up around the incision sites is really about to make me chew the paint off the walls aren't helping. I was hungry before taking them but it's even worse now lol! I had to do the liquid diet a week before the surgery and from then til now, I've lost 51 lbs. I have 153 to go to my long term goal weight and to get rid of the diabetes and sleep apnea but good goobidy goo.... it's a hard road but one I am glad I decided to take!

I had surgery 10 days ago. NOT going shopping until today. Was on oxygen but hope to be off soon (I live at 7000’). Was told no lifting more than 20 lbs for 6 weeks. Still on liquids until 2 weeks postoperative. Then puréed foods. BTW. I am 63 years old. Feeling better every day.

Its interesting how uneventful the recovery you can be for some people and for others that struggled with vomiting and air/gas that remained trapped in stomach. Were you given any pointers on how to make your recovery an uneventful one. I've had a hysterectomy and my recovery from that was uneventful. I'm hoping that serves as a good indicator to determining how I will recover from bariatric surgery 🤞
I’m ten days out I had gas pains for three days but I was up and moving and even went shopping now i feel normal no pain at all only if I drink too much or too fast I sometime get a bit tired but I’ve only lost 10 pounds so far ps I’m 54

Until now i lost about 35 kilograms in the last 5 months. If there is anything else you want to ask please do
Forget this surgery. Not worth the time off work and then the possibility of having to have hernia repair down the road. Which I had a hernia going into the surgery and they couldn’t fix it. I don’t care how much weight I lose from it I wish I had talked myself out of it. And bring mentally prepared you kind of can’t be because that’s why it’s done anyway. I would rather be prepared to tel myself no at the grocery store than go through this again. I want my old stomach back and given the chance to exercise and eat better. This grumbling of the stomach from too much or too little of food taking vitamins, gas and etc isn’t worth it.

That's insane!! I just had my surgery Tuesday, today I started full liquid and will be on it for 2 weeks, then 2 weeks of pureed.

I rather just control my eating and work out . This seems like torture to only eat soup or liquid
People with a food addiction can’t make that choice. They need help. Good on ya for being able to be in control.
