You can play pretty much anything you want if it runs well on the steam deck because steam input is just so damn good. It allows you to change the inputs so you can play kbm only games on a deck just fine. But id say losing full analog stick input sometimes sucks tho. Also there are configurations that makes it so you can aim better than with a stick with things like gyro aim + flickstick if you're willing to learn it.
I like how they changed the performance settings. Before it was straight down which was kind of annoying but now it’s straight across which doesn’t get in the way whatsoever
The fact that steam even thinks about how it's users are used to Nintendo controls and addresses that fact is what is gonna make the steam deck overrun the switch, soon after a few years the deck would be the standard and people will only play the switch if they want to play the Nintendo exclusive multi-player games(since offline Nintendo games can be emulated on the deck)
I used a Steam Deck for the first time yesterday and it's genuinely one of the best devices/consoles I've ever used. It's such a innovative little console. I also absolutely adore the haptic touchpad too.

Really cool stuff, thanks for sharing this with us! I would highly recommend learning about the "Golden 40" that leverages the 40Hz capabilities of the Deck's display. Inevitably, you'll often end up worrying if a recent release can run at 60FPS on there. The Golden 40 would massively help here: Due to the fact you can lower the panel's refresh rate to 40Hz through the Quick Action Menu, you are able to go for 40FPS instead of 30. Why you may ask? Despite a 10FPS additional payload to the Deck's graphics APU, 40 FPS is right in the middle between 30 and 60 FPS in terms of frame pacing - meaning a nearly-60 FPS experience. Try it out! If you want to see this in action, feel free to give an older video of mine a shot, where I tried to explain this comprehensively. Cheers!
Would be nice if cloud saves worked for every game. And offline mode with no wifi is a pain it always loads the old wifi save data when I reconnect to wifi instead of loading the most recent offline save. That's my one steamdeck complaint
It isnt here in saudi arabia either. BUT there is an amazing dude who has a site called saudi deck which he reserves decks from a region thats sells steam deck and ships to saudi until he has enough and sells it across the kingdom and i got it to my home within days!! I thought the same but if you’ve ever held a nintendo switch then this will feel like an HUGE upgraded experience.
