Metallica - No Leaf Clover lyrics

- Metallica is an American heavy metal band from Los Angeles, California. Formed in 1981 when James Hetfield responded to an advertisement that drummer Lars Ulrich had posted in a local newspaper. The current line-up features long-time lead guitarist Kirk Hammett (who joined the band in 1983) and bassist Robert Trujillo (a member since 2003) alongside Hetfield and Ulrich. Previous members of the band include former lead guitarist Dave Mustaine (who went on to found the band Megadeth) and former bassists Ron McGovney, Cliff Burton and Jason Newsted. The band also had a long collaboration with producer Bob Rock, who produced all of its albums from 1990 to 2003 and served as a temporary bassist between the departure of Newsted and the hiring of Trujillo.
Metallica's early releases included fast tempos, instrumentals, and aggressive musicianship that placed the band as one of the founding "big four" of thrash metal alongside Slayer, Megadeth, and Anthrax.[1] The band earned a growing fan-base in the underground music community and critical acclaim, with its third album Master of Puppets (1986) described as one of the most influential and "heavy" thrash metal albums. Metallica achieved substantial commercial success with their eponymous fifth album (also known as The Black Album), which debuted at number one on the Billboard 200. With this release the band expanded its musical direction resulting in an album that appealed to a more mainstream audience.
The pitch change when he sings "then it comes to be" is phenomenal
And Im constipated!

@@thaddeusbingman6207 thats how I understood the first time I heard him sing "then it comes to be" 😂
"Then it COmes to be"
The auto tune is so strong in that change
Lowkey one of Metallica’s very best songs. Absolutely mesmerizing.
I had forgotten about this song till I stumbled across it on Tik- tok , 🤘💥
My first time hearing this song was watching a DBZ - AMV as a kid. Was the first Metallica song I heard and I was an instant fan.

One of the cleanest live songs you’ll ever hear. Very impressive.
Absolutely. I always use to even think that when I first heard this song when I was a young teenager. I'm almost 32 now.
Such an underrated song. I'd even say it's a masterpiece.
I totally agree.
Like most of hetfields songs?
I absolutely love this song
It is a masterpiece. Every metallica song is
You read my mind with that comment. 🤘
This song has so much meaning to me. What it means to me is how a person's luck is just an illusion and the only thing left is his/her end. One of metallicas last masterpiece.
Your comment hit hard my brother passed away from alcoholism and he was obsessed with this song.
Now I am.
One of the best live preformences for James vocals
The vocals weren't live. They were redone in the studio. Everything else was live, though
My understanding was the vocals were live, but remastered in production. The live track is more raw. Not bad, just raw.
Then it comes to be that the soothing light at the end of your tunnel was just a freight train coming your way. That gives me chills I don't know why
tupac Shakur because life is just like that for many of us.. thanks for your share.. gbu
Best line in the song
Mary Z i hear ya... what a great song... helps with all kinda pains..
In other words - BIG changes.
God me too..I can remember being a really little kid, (when this song came out,) and getting crazy chills listening to it for the first time. And feeling almost hypnotized by the music. I guess I was a metalhead before I was old enough to even know what one was.
One of the greatest bands of all time hands down
And RUSH..
THE greatest band of all time
U right
Fuck yeah!
And hands up!
I first discovered this song in 2001 when I was 11 and remember it sending chills up my spine, been a Metallica fan ever since!
“YeAAhhh!” -James Hetfield

This has gotta be one of the best songs I have ever heard in my life. This is so badass I can't even describe it. I can't turn up the volume enough...
What does it for me is the orchestra background to badass heavy metal.
totally agree
I forgot about how much I love this song till I heard it on the radio today! My dad was a huge Metallica fan (so am I) but he passed away May 17th, 2022 and when I heard this song today I could hear him singing along with me.. love you, Daddy…❤
❤
:(
They played this in Atlanta 2021. I was blown away cus it's not a normal set list song. Was amazing.
I was staring at this eerily soothing light when-- WHAM!!'-A freight train flattened my ass.
Lanny Jack True story bro
Get wrecked scrub 😂
You hate to see it
I know. Me 2 flattened my case of beer
@@markrandolph3235 ah no not the beer!
A song about hope--the greatest curse within Pandora's box. Amazing.
@Hilltop Slim 614 Nope. It's about when you thought that something good was gonna happen but it was just another hardship. The soothing light that he thought was hope ended up being the opposite, a freight train hitting him.
Actually all the opposite to that... and the reason we and many love Metallica so much. The don't need to speak about the pretty, but about reality. If they sang about the pretty and hope n' sht, they wouldn't be Metallica.
😁
I feel ashamed of myself that I just found out this song, this masterpiece I mean, how can I look at myself on the mirror ? Shame on me
On the other hand - there's something amazing about finding a new song from a band you thought you already knew through and through. :)
@@Eris_Norregard I totally agree!

I've been rocking metallica since 89 and going on 48 and stil head banging
Erika Lussier Don't pull a muscle grandma ;)
Pretty much my story as well. I went and saw them live on the “And Justice for All...” tour in August of ‘89 and became an instant fan. The next day, I bought all their albums to they point and have been rocking out with them ever since!
I even headbang to i am the table
Me too when and justice came out. Turned 47 this year! Ha
Saw these gents in 2018 in Portland, Or before the state lost its damned mind
Awesome show
story of my life. i love this song.... the soothing light at the end of your tunnel, is just a freight train comin' your way. indeed. as always. lol
mine too.
I remember i was in high school when this album came out and i ditched to go stand in line lol 😝 i was the first one there and i jammed all the way home!!!! All these years later and i am still jamming to this….aaaahhhh memories
life long metallica fan here. Old or new, lyrically, structurally, this is top 10 best song they ever wrote...
@Maxeotl For me #1 Dyers eve. #2 Creeping Death. #3 Blackened maybe? Honestly not sure after that point. Damage inc and master of puppets are in there. Maybe Battery. Unforgiven 2. You won't see me add anything after reload though.
Unforgiven 3 is on this level. Those two songs are masterpieces.
"Be careful that the light at the end of the tunnel ins't an oncoming train."
Sam Fisher That's not a lyric.
Unless you were in it, then you too get to plow
Sam Fisher here come the soul collecting murder train a comin
Sam Fisher that's a T-shirt, but still...accurate. kudos.

My favorite rock song of all time its beautiful a masterpiece
What a masterpiece of a song, love it!
Its incredible to me that this album was largely panned when it was released. I immediately loved this album and still do, and despite enjoying Metallica's music, I wouldn't call myself a Metallica superfan. It's really one of the most inventive recordings ever.
2019?? This just does't age!
2020 still blasting this at every stop light
2021 still going

true that best metallica song by a mile plus its live james killed it
@@chrisbennett1118 its definitely not their best song have you not heard the entire albums of RTL master of puppets and kill em all. Even and justice for all those albums all have songs better than this but this is a good song
I have been listening to Metallica since 1984. Nostalgic? Hell Yeah!!
Long Live Metallica music!
I heard this on the radio 106.7 Zrock and recognized James voice. typed in the lyrics and it brought me here. great and powerful song
I haven't heard this song in like 15 years. Epic jam.
This band never ceases to amaze me!
Whose here after #HardKnocks ?
When I heard for the first time "Nothing else matters" I said myself it was the best song ever ... then I heard this, which I think is even better! :-O
try the unforgiving
NarutoSSj6 already listen sir (I and II)...but Nothing else matter is WAY better
Gianluca P. how about the third one?
Silly Banana 3rd one is my favourite
The Unforgiven is miles better than Nothing Else Matters...
That song is just beautiful. the mix of "classical" and more modern instruments gives chills, the voice and the lyrics. Wahoo !!! 😵💫🫠🥹🥲
A throwback from the days artists used to create real music.

Yeah, but now we get to hear about how Olivia Rodrigo got her driver's license.

@@mc1069millennial comment. Did you thunk of that all by yourself? Give yourself a pat on the back.
This song has quickly become one of my favorite Metallica songs. Very well done and powerful. These guys just don't quit!
This song is about self pity and the void a man could be going through. It is also a deep realization about how life can keep throwing you challenges even when you think you are near salvation. The soothing light at the end of the tunnel is violently contradicted by the lights of a freight train coming your way. Interesting retrospective view on life .
I love this song, it's so sweet, gritty, and tearing.
This is actually one of my favorite Metallica songs
Great song the Detroit Lions’ head coach Dan Campbell reminded me of this masterpiece
Haven't heard this song in forever and a freaking day.
my morning alarm!! ✌✌✌✌
My favorite Metallica song, only true fans know it.
I thought it was one of the more popular songs by them
Still giving me goosebumps everytime
This is the first Metallica song I ever heard and for that reason it will always be my favorite.
Born in the 80's and I'm almost 40,and this was my childhood.
I've cried so many times on this song during hard life times in my childhood when I lost my family
You ... lost ... your family?
I’m sorry for your loss. I hope you are finding the good things in life.
Well, my father lost all of his family, mother, father and brothers in a car accident against a truck in a curve. Most of the time I cannot even start to comprehend what he's felt. In addition to that he lost his first wife due to cancer, and one of his sons with that wife because he suicided from a balcony. He himself has been boarding death many times through illness, cancer, and accidents, and he still there. I can't imagine a more fucked up life than that, it's almost unbelievable how he hasn't shot himself in the head yet.

Same thing here, just as you describe it . . . after one of the most impulsive days in my life. How life goes in circles.
Paul Badenhorst Keep going in the same circle with a girl, got involved she left to live with her dad to get closer to him from not knowing him her entire life, things happened, it ended up not working out down there and for us while she was gone, didn't speak for 6 months after she got back, just started seeing each other again, and she's leaving for boot again in 3 weeks... never stopped caring and won't but this song hits home so hard
+imi1667
This song reminds me of my brother a lot.
He was 8 yrs older than me. And my we life he was like a super hero to me... But I never actually knew him for real.
Then he moved back home from outta state. And I moved back home too... We were basically roommates. Knowing each other for the first time ever..
(the soothing light)
A year later he died of an overdose.
(the freight train)
Now I'm all alone again.
nice dude!
+Joe Manzella it got deep.
a PERFECT mix of ballad and metal ive never heard something like this a powerful message about how comfort really causes more suffering and escapism causes more isolation
This must have been one hell of a concert
I have a memories with this track. One of the best ever performance by Metallica.
SnM is not only the best Live Album it's also the greatest Innovation in the World of Metal
This is the song that i want to listen at my final day on Earth !! For my funeral !! Such a powerful message for the end of live !!

Absolute perfection.
This is underrated song. I'd even say it's a masterpieces.
When I was young, my father would play Metallica, Anthrax, Iron Maiden, and Accept in his truck. As a kid, the music actually scared me.Especially Cyanide by Metallica, which is now one of my favorite songs, gave me nightmares as a kid. It's funny that I listen to songs and bands that terrified me when I was little.
Satalite 15... Final Frontier by iron maiden used to scare the shit out of me, now it's one of my favorites by them
In "my" opinion, the greatest !!!
