Italian research scientists found vine pollen and wild grape remains that are 6,300 years old and found them in the now Valpolicella.The research is ongoing but I wouldn't be surprised that people were making wine in that part of Italy...long before the the written word. cheers!

Traced back 7000 years? Are you sure? The earliest veneti inscriptions are dated at 6th century bc.
