Wait not using the computer an internet at same time...u mean the internet and phone? 😂
came here to say this.
Didn't catch that lol thank you
He's still reeling from realising the 90's were 30 years ago
Botchamania
I hate that I'm old enough to forget that dial-up internet was a thing
I loved Vince's promo on The Rock during the build to Survivor Series '98 that turned Rock fully face (or so we thought), when he said "Since I have a problem with the people, I have a problem with the People's Champion."
Oh yea. Even The Rock had a great comeback against Vince at one point saying “The Rock would much rather be the People’s Ass than to ever kiss yours.”
Survivor Series 1998 was peak Attitude Era madness, but Summerslam is the better show top to bottom, it's a top 10 all time WWE PPV for me.
I've always rated Owen Hart vs. Bret Hart higher than Razor Ramon vs. Shawn Michaels WrestleMania X.
I do too, but was Razor vs Shawn that was Match Of The Year in every publication that year. That's like Mania X-7 where we think Austin/Rock was the best match but TLC 2 was Match Of The Year.
I always thought Razor vs. Shawn at Summerslam was better than their match at Wrestlemania
There are people nowadays that debate over how many matches is enough for a card. “7 to 8 is WWE’s average and it doesn’t feel like enough.” “Forbidden Door is tonight and it has 14 matches. That’s too much!”
Try having a Canadian Stampede in 2024 with a poultry 4 matches. People’s heads will explode like Scanners.
Royal Rumble 2024 did just that!
That tag team match from No Mercy will always be my favorite
When wrestling was at it's worst in the early 90s, Bret Hart took everything and carried it on his back. He's the man who saved wrestling from extinction. And that's why he is just the very best.
Whatculture and Cultaholic did this let’s see what Parts Funknown has blessed to see all from 1980-Now what a life
Summerslam '91 is better than Wrestlemania VII. Incredibly fun card with Bret Hart and Mr. Perfect putting on a technical masterclass, Virgil finally beating Ted DiBiase, LOD winning the tag titles, and the entertaining hijinks of Big Boss Man and the Mountie. And the wedding of Savage and Elizabeth is arguably the greatest Summerslam moment ever. Wrestlemania VII is basically a one-match show, and is a slog to watch in comparison
Christ even Rumble 91 was better than Mania
WrestleMania X and In Your House 16: Canadian Stampede the standouts.
You're forgetting how bangin Survivor Series 03 was, my dude.
Love these lists. Hopefully yall pull the trigger on best pay per views across all of wrestling.
SID main evented every WrestleMania he wrestled on. Why isn't he in the hall of fame?
Name a good Sid match
@@JBSMngadi sid Justice vs Hulk Hogan. Not everyone else is Dave Meltzer sheep.
It happens in softball season.
@@ciaranmurrenthere’s no way you said Sid vs Hogan with a straight face.
Because SID sucked and is the worst and most overrated main event wrestler ever.
Meh I'd say summerslam 91 is miles above wrestlemania 7 overall. But slight bias of it being my first ppv
Canadian talks about Bret Hart 12 minutes
LMAO who thought it was a good idea to have two no mercy ppv's in 1999 that was awful.
Good news Tempest, you'll get to mention 1997 Survivor Series next week.
"You wont find many IYH PPVs on this list"
Meanwhile, nearly every PPV back then was IYH
I think Summerslam 98 was the ppv of the year for 1998. Highway to hell, HHH/Rock ladder match was a classic. Royal Rumble 95 was a good show also. 95 was bad but the Rumble would come in 2nd. I can’t wait to see a WCW list of best and worst PPV’s from the 90s that should be an interesting list to say the least. I would put Backlash ahead of No Mercy, I personally just like that one better
I think back as an elder wrestling fan, and realise my young decision to dip out when the 1-2-3 Kid appeared and return wondering why he was named X-Pac now was a masterstroke.
I get that it doesn't quite have a main event to put it over the top, but I prefer WM 8 to Summer slam 92. It's also a 2 match show, but I would argue that Bret vs. Piper and Savage vs. Flair are better than all but one of the matches at Summer slam.
There was more buzz as well. Regardless of how a show does, I always take hype into the equation. Mania 8 was a Supercard for the time, Hogan/Sid, Flair/Savage, Piper/Hart, Taker/Roberts, Natural Disasters/Money Inc. It was the era of the gimmick, even the 8 man tag was something to look forward to, that wasn't a common occurrence.
Why are you so mean tempest?
The criticism that Bret and Shawn get for how business was going in the 90s and not being bigger draws is unfair.
*WWF ppvs in the 1990's
Honestly in later generations I would include Benoit, Eddie Guerrero and Kurt Angle over Bret Hart.
This video got me thinking of out Goated Bret is. Bret had to deal with a lot of s--- but still performed at a high level.
SummerSlam 91 was far better than Mania 7, it was quick moving and fun. Hogan v Slaughter main event at 7 was great too, judged poorly because of the hubbub surrounding it and the mobility of the competitors. They both showed up for the night however.
Rumble 92 > summerslam 92
Mania 5 is better than people give it credit for. I think part of the problem is the setting. That Trump casino setting sucks! Also the apron was recycled from the previous year quite blatantly, way to give your major show a big time feel by dressing your ring with handle downs Fed!
But some of the matches on that card were strong. Savage and Hogan gave the best Mania main event to that point (ok not the highest bar) and it was everything that story needed it to be. The Warrior/Rude clash was great with Rude and Heenan being the perfect foils to bring the best out of the Warrior, yes their Summerslam matches were better but this was always meant to be a first chapter and it kept Warrior looking a beast even in defeat.
Rockers/Towers was all it needed to be. The Heenan match was 30 seconds, but a fun 30 seconds. The tag title match was a disappointment but the rivalry had largely gone cold so they needed this match to blow it off and move both teams on.
The Strike Force break up was what it should have been with the Brainbusters making it a good match. Perfect/Blazer feels like it would have been amazing had it had more time.
The rest of the card is forgettable but no one was really buying the show for Haku/Hercules or Bushwhackers/Rougeaus were they?
Davey Boy Smith's best match is hands down the one he ad with Bret for the IC Title at Summerslam 1992
For all the hate Warrior gets for his wrestling ability or the lack there of, he had arguably the best match on the card in back to back WrestleManias and a really good one at 5 too against Rude.
Bad publicity just makes people run with it, even though we rescinded that hit piece Self Destructive of Ultimate Warrior dvd, people like to believe it was accurate. Lots of people love the nasty stuff, even if it comes out as hyperbolic, people will run with it forever.
Happy Canada day Tempest!!
Tempest
Survivor Series 1998: 🤣🤣🤣Stop being silly. The show was built on the main event only; the other matches were all duds. WrestleMania or King of the Ring were the best PPVs for that year.
Imagine trying to watch early 90s wwf as someone who doesn't care for the Harts. Ya got hardly anything
Bret is only the GOAT if you discard everyone who was better than him like HBK, HHH and Taker. He was great but he was no GOAT.
0:07 same, Tempest. Same. 😩
List of Canadian wrestlers better than Bret Hart, in no particular order and not to be considered complete:
1. Chris Benoit
2. Chris Jericho
3. Kenny Omega
4. Val Venis
5. Shawn Spears
6. Owen Hart
7. Test
8. Edge
9. Christian
10. Kevin Owens
11. Sami Zayn
12. Kyle O'Reilly
13. "Speedball" Mike Bailey
No way Vel Venis tops Bret Hart
@@sevenblade6370 not even close. No charisma, no star power, awful move set. Bret Hart was a joke and overrated.
here’s hoping for a similar list for WCW soon
How is King of the Ring not the best PPV of 1998?!
The undercard was terrible. The tournament sucked. And the main event was crap
That one match show? Literally what else happened? Name anything...
King Of The Ring, Summerslam And Survivor Series 1998 Are The Best. Honorable Mentions: Over The Edge, Breakdown And Fully Loaded '98.
Week 1 asking for Bryan Danielson greatest rivals
Bret damn deserves more credit the man had 3 ppv matches on one ppv. Who tf does that????
Triple h in 2007
Kurt angle in KOTR 2001.
Most King of the Ring winners
@@codynelson7575 ok lol
@@georgekhaoletsa2004 actually?
.....you gave 91 to Mania, and not SummerSlam?
You f'd up, Tempest.
Do WCW
Bret and Owen was great but Matt said Jeff had a pretty dope match at WrestleMania
🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊💯💯💯💯💯💯
First!
1990 didn't kick off the decade.... new decades beegin at 1.
Ahh yes a 4 match card...Triple H has been close to that. Meanwhile Tony Khan books 4 on the preshow...sigh.
Quality, not quantity.
Early 90’s was a bad time for AMERICAN wrestling.
Wrestlemania 9 > Wrestlemania X
Pls tell me what are you smoking right now?
1990 - wwf/ajpw/njpw - us/japan wrestling summit (tv rights and network politics aside this show defines forbidden door and how to do interpromotional matches)
1991 summerslam(bret vs perfect was great and ted vs virgil were fine)
1992 royal rumble(ric flair does it all)
1993 KOTR(bret hart saves the ppv)
1994 KOTR(owen hart winning makes it better)
1995 surivivor series(bret hart saves again)
1996 wrestlemania(apart from warrior vs triple h, rest of the matches goes from decent to great)
1997 canadian stempede(4 matches, all top notch)
1998 wrestlemania 14(austin vs micheals, taker vs kane were great
1999 no mercy on october(if they didnt book moolah to win the title from ivory, this would have been even more great)
