I think Shaun Alexander deserves to be on here. Dude played for less than a decade and had almost 10,000 yards and over 100 touchdowns. Definition of a workload back
He could have gotten stuffed but at least they would have multiple chances to score. Throwing across the middle was dumb and Russel placed the ball in a bad spot.
Ricky Williams was a man on a mission when he came back from being in the cfl playing for the argos before coming back with the dolphins. I remember when I lived in Toronto and seeing evening highlights of him run. He was possessed and I was convinced then he still had game.
One of the most under-appreciated NFL seasons by a running back was the 1985 season by Gerald Riggs… 430 touches (397 rushing, 33 receptions) with 0 fumbles!!
1:52 "Yes, he had Sam Shields!" As a Packers fan, that's pretty remarkable that as a teenager, Sam Shields (who came into the league in 2010?) was blocking at a Hall of Fame level for Priest Holmes and Larry Johnson. (Think you meant Will Shields, one of the best offensive guards in NFL history.)
Put Ezekiel Elliot at the top of my list. Multiple time pro bowler, all pro, leads the nfl in rushing yards amongst current players, is 26 years old and has lead the nfl in rushing yards 2/4 of the full seasons he’s played… and people HATE HIM!
I’m a cowboys fan and NO .. Zek not even close to beginning on this page. Last decent season was his rookie yr where he made a impact for us on offseason. The past 2 season he hasn’t done anything spectacular for the offense.
I think Corey Dillon should've made the list too. Nobody saw him because he was in Cincinnati but I think he went over 200 yds rushing a couple times. Guy was a workload.
Ricky Williams reminds me of how Bo Jackson used to run the rock. They both were the biggest and the fastest on the field. It wasn't fair. Sad that we didn't get to see both of them have a full career.
Steven Jackson should be on here. He gets overshadowed by LT and AP. I think he could replace Priest Holmes because he seems to get a good amount of credit.
Ricky Williams was big , fast and had lateral movements like Barry Sanders. If he didn't elude tacklers he punished them. I would put him at #1 also, but the whole list was awesome.
Probably lack of Playoff success. Never a primary back. Players that are primarily punt and kickoff returners can't take the place of every down offensive or defensive players. It's easy to rack-up numbers when you get several kickoffs a game with an easy 20-25 a return, the same as taking a knee in the endzone (previously 20 yard line now up to 25 yard line). He's only 188th in yards from scrimmage with 8,392. Even though he had a great playmaking ability he didn't make the Pro-Bowl until his time in Philadelphia and spent his last 3 years injured. Those last 3 could have put him in the conversation for eventually making the HOF down the line especially with the extra touchdowns possibly over 10,000 yards from scrimmage.
Although emmitt smith has the stats and accolades he does he is pretty under appreciated himself was basically the lebron of the running backs guy people hold that against him
crutis Martin was awesome back in the day for the Patriots then the jets he was a mashein ladine Tomlinson aas a beast for chargers in 2003 04 05 06 07 he can move his hips he rain hard
I wish this guy could've just used his voice. Some people think too much of y themselves. This is William's payoff for wearing a dress and taking a woman's last name.Dont let them fool ya.

But the thing is, was he really *that* under appreciated?
He won an MVP. Not underrated.
He went to my hoghschool
Marshawn Lynch was so under appreciated by the Seahawks that they were willing to lose the Super Bowl by not handing him the ball
As a Seahawks fan this hurts
He could have gotten stuffed but at least they would have multiple chances to score. Throwing across the middle was dumb and Russel placed the ball in a bad spot.
Political statement.
@@NicholasRodriguezN7 If you can stop Marshawn Lynch going like a yard with multiple tries, I could 100% die in peace losing that SB.
To be fair, herein lies why he works well as a decoy. Especially on goal line plays
Fred Taylor is the most underrated rb ever.
You can even argue ever
So was his teammate at WR Jimmy Smith
@@supratrd900 People sleep on Jimmy Smith
Priest Holmes was so fun to watch growing up as a Chiefs fan. And also he had WILL Shields, not Sam Shields ;)
Quality list. Ricky was insane. Size, power, balance, vision, pretty good long speed and one of the all-time meanest stiff-arms.
Definitely. I really like him adding Fred Taylor. Those early Jaguars teams were really really underappreciated.
@@NicholasRodriguezN7 Yup with Tony Baselli, Mark Brunell, Jimmy Smith and Keenan Mcardell
@@capswole81 My man! They I loved playing as them and the Vikings back in Madden 99 for the N64.
@@gerardopascual8582 I would love to see Ricky truck this bot. I reported him like 5 times. They're getting annoying.
one of my favorite backs of all time hands down..
Clicked just for my guy Fred Taylor. Still one of my favorite running backs ever and you never hear his name brought up but bro was NICE
Ricky Williams was a man on a mission when he came back from being in the cfl playing for the argos before coming back with the dolphins. I remember when I lived in Toronto and seeing evening highlights of him run. He was possessed and I was convinced then he still had game.
Frank Gore is really under appreciated as well
@Lil Curt 3rd most rushing yards of all time
Frank Gore is not under appreciated. He gets a lot of praise
@Lil Curt my case in point. Y’all only value star leaders when it works to your argument
No mention of Frank Gore for shame.
Gore will probably make the HOF before Craig. I think Gore is top 10 under appreciated but not 5
Gore is not under appreciated. He gets a lot of praise from fans and peers
What about Marion Barber?? I loved him with the Cowboys and Chris Johnson with the Titans!
MB3 was the man!
Good list. Would consider Jamal Lewis on this list as well
Right. Jamal Lewis gets no love. Every time I mention him to people I get a “meh” response. I don’t understand
Priest Holmes is why I became a chiefs fan
One of the most under-appreciated NFL seasons by a running back was the 1985 season by Gerald Riggs… 430 touches (397 rushing, 33 receptions) with 0 fumbles!!
Great list tbh. If it wasn't specifically top 5, add brian westbrook, jaamal charles, matt forte
Brian westbrook was my first favorite player but what about warrick dunn? Corey Dillion maybe even Jamal lewis.
Roger Craig was the OG with high thighs and just unreal he just set up CMC 1k-1k season happen with the flim to use to immtate
Brian Westbrook
Edit: Ricky Williams was an EXCELLENT choice!!
@@gerardopascual8582 Fight me.
No Jamaal Charles?

It's not Elliot, it's the Cowboys most people hate
Chris Johnson ~~Titans
Where's Brian Westbrook? I really can't complain cause this an excellent list
Him and Warrick dunn
Matt Forte was so underrated
Bears will forever be associated with great Rbs
Priest Holmes was a just not human and being undrafted was bonus and just the start to an epic start to a hof career like Terrell Davis
Chiefs literally built their offense around priest Holmes, dude was a MONSTER
Then Shaun Alexander and ladanian would beat his record☹️
They had larry johnson as his back up
Steven Jackson Snubbed
I think Corey Dillon should've made the list too. Nobody saw him because he was in Cincinnati but I think he went over 200 yds rushing a couple times. Guy was a workload.
Fred Taylor belongs in the Hall of Fame.
Curtis Martin is number one or two. 5 pro bowls, number 6 in most rushing yards in a career, (14,101 yards), and in the hall of fame.
Ricky Williams reminds me of how Bo Jackson used to run the rock. They both were the biggest and the fastest on the field. It wasn't fair. Sad that we didn't get to see both of them have a full career.
jonathan stewart????

Finally someone recognizes how good of a player Ricky Williams actually was. He was one of the best players of his generation and gets zero respect
Not by us Miami fans
Ricky Williams was big , fast and had lateral movements like Barry Sanders. If he didn't elude tacklers he punished them. I would put him at #1 also, but the whole list was awesome.
Marion Barber lll?
Jamal Lewis should have made the list
Deuce Mcallister
Jamal Lewis??
Roger Craig should definitely be in the Hall of Fame. More yards from Scrimmage than Michael Irvin, Shannon Sharpe, Calvin Johnson all Hall Of Famers!
What about wr’s next. Probably a biased opinion but sanu sr is one of them.
Honorable mention to Tiki Barber
Priest holmes isn't underppreciated in kc. We still love him. He balled out.
Fred Taylor should be in the hall of fame
Priest had a 3 year stretch that is arguably the best 3 season by a RB ever
Ricky Williams new name is Errick Miron
Earl Campbell!
Based on some of these numbers, Holmes and Foreman should be in HOF
How is Darren Sproles not mentioned? Dude was a killer RB/Return man for the charger's
not underrated
