When you're listening to him talk, this is whats great about Tommy, you know by his energy that something good is coming, you feel good listening to him because he's confident, he knows what he's doing. I think he's really matured as a comedian, i didn't like him years ago, just all those shouty over the top festival shows...but now he's become a world class comedian.
Tommys greatness hangs on the edge of madness, depression and Irishness. A perfect mix to make a geanis☺ I think Tommy gets depressed because he finds it difficult to find many people to communicate with who are on the same wave length as he is. Met him once in Tipperary (Nenagh) he was driving through on his motorbike and stopped at a coffee shop. I wanted to grab him and bring him home, but I just smiled and said hello. He was very friendly and smiled back before mounting his motorbike like John Wynn would have mounted a horse and off he went into the sunset... well it was really off into the rainy dull Irish feck of a day towards Nenagh town (two shops, a church, 25 pubs and a post office, not exactly L.A.) Anyway nice man, wish him happiness and loads more success.
