I remember doing a ton of the research into this stuff to have it fully documented on the wiki. I'm pretty sure I'm the first person to ever have discovered the chair wheat, and absolutely FLIPPED when I came across it. It required a ton of infdev MCEdit and manually editing bytes in the world files, and I probably screamed when I first saw it.
Awesome if real.

For minecraft bedrock users, Old stonecutter was also removed. It was replaced by the new stonecutter. I still have a minecraft world with an old stonecutter in a chest.
Yeah I can edit my world file and still get the old stonecutter, crying obsidian etc... Just installed mcpe 0.11.1 on my other phone (galaxy note 3) and I'm having tons of fun revisiting the ui
I have one too. My editing app that I used, is no longer available on Play Store. It was MCPE Master.
Edit: I found it in Galaxy Apps, it was last updated to 1.12.3 Pocket Edition.
Yeah, I saw that in Bedrock when I download old maps.
It's easy to obtain using nbt editor
For anyone who downloaded old maps and wondering how to get the item, It is possible to do it.
Requirements:
- Minecraft windows 10 edition or Xbox one/Series X/S Edition or Playstation 4/5 Edition Or any compatible bedrock with keyboard or controller.
- Latest version of minecraft for online multiplayer.
Steps:
1: Join the old world on the phone using one of the versions mentioned above with the multiplayer crossplay feature.
2: In the game, Pickblock the old block you want to add as an item. Pickblock is not available on pocket edition and tbh idk why.
3: Give the block to the phone user/host or put it in a chest.
And you are done! No Cheats needed.
I did this with my ps4 on my old minecraft world in my ipad. it still works to this day.
"Every block can be put into a flower pot"

As a developer the dev versions are aweful, glichy and lag filled so yeah not much interesting to see

Quick Note: The cake seems to be loading a powered comparator texture. You can tell because there is a horizontal powered bar while the only horizontal bar of that size that is able to show on a repeater sports the bedrock texture.
Fard😳
The cause of these glitched textures is technically the same as the cause of the jumbled mess on level 256 in Pac-Man, in that the fruit counter there oversteps its allocated space and begins rendering other data, much like how the data value on a block here causes the block rendering to spill into other textures.
not really
it just increments a texture index by the growth state
it the growth state is below the regular maximum, the texture index goes beyond the textures for the wheat in the texture atlas, be it the internally stitched atlas from 1.5 and later or terrain.png from versions prior
It's like the scientific method, poke at things until you find something unusual, research it further to find out a little bit more of the inner workings of the universe you're in.

Ender Beans: 1:15
Out of everything in this video, the only thing I actually already knew about on my own was the special cake blocks. I remember playing around with commands when I was around 9 and coming to the realization that *all* blocks can have 16 different states. I quickly realized most normal blocks used the famous purple and black texture for a block state that it doesnt have. But then i wondered what would happen with cake, since it's not a full block and its block states are different as they change its shape. I then discovered the glitchy cake textures for cakes 8-15. It never crossed my mind to try out other progressive blocks like crops.
I’m like 200% the nether reactor core block texture is accidentally swapped between the normal textures and the plastic ones and that has annoyed me way to much even though it isn’t obtainable lol
same lmao, I remember it having more lines in the blue parts
@@akirapink madlad
8:15 worst timing does not exi-
As a texturepack creator, the image at 6:09 kind of gave me nostalgia. This is the terrain.png file which was the file where all block textures were stored until 1.5 which came out in 2013. Since 1.5, the block textures are all individual png files, but before that they were all stored in that one big file.
Those 2d images spinning towards you also appeares in many id Software games before Quake (Wolfenstein 3D and Doom), and even Duke Nukem 3D, since those games are mainly 2.5D but in a first person perspective.
Yeah, sprites
Wolfenstein 3D and Doom are actually top-down shooters internally, which is why floors never overlap and why you don't need to aim vertically. Wolfenstein uses static tiles while Doom seems to be vector based.
@@Wiimeiser I'm pretty sure Doom is a lot "more 3D" than Wolfenstein. Certain things only interact if they are at the same height
@@Wiimeiser
DooM simulates height though, you jump from ramps and miss items, but not enemies, this is intentional so you dont skip them, at the same time, doom has elevators and depending on the port you can look up and down
I believe the official term is "billboards"
I love how RussianBadger's Guacamole Gamer Fart flavor has just taken over all the GamerSups ads.
3:36 that's because animated blocks really use a single static texture that gets swapped out in VRAM every few ticks with the next frame (depends on the animation, but it's usually every tick)
this is why every animated block is in sync with the others
When you were talking about the glitched cake (5:51) it looks more like a comparator instead of a repeater
5:57 is a comparator not a repeater

11:00 nah. We do that all the time when programming, like, you take and index - the growt indext in this case - and you use it to acces something entirelly different - the texture atlas in this case. That is why, when we do that, we limmit the index.
Reminds me of the outside in the original portal. In the actual game it just looks like the outside with a facility, cars, trees etc. but when you use something such as gmod or noclip in console, you can see that it is actually a 2D image that’s made to blend in from the sky and look 3d from your view.
I think I remember one video back in 2012 or 2013 talking about the over grown stems but I cant remember who talked about them or even why I clicked on it. I remember determining how to make a negative number of blocks back in 1.7 or 1.8. I don’t remember how I did it but I think it involved dispensers? Anytime the value went negative the font color changed to red too. It was pretty cool and I was stoked that I did it. To this day I never saw anybody else do it

The quality of this video aside, I think only when Notch put anything in the game with intent (rather than a visual glitch like this video) can anything in the video be referred to as items. Ant saying something along the lines of "remember these blocks?" and there's practically no chance of me knowing them I always feel cheated. Him referring to cogs (or another item like that) in the same way always feels perfectly justified, because they were in the obtainable in the game, were intended and weren't just visual glitches.
huh, did you see the thumbnail or intro? obviously the blocks he's showing aren't normal ones you can obtain like from creative mode. Dont be looking for any issues when there are none - i dont get how you would feel cheated
The melon stems were definitely known of in 2013, as were potted cobwebs.
@@JohnBanana I never said you should be able to get them from creative. In the comment I said pointed out his video on cogs, an item which existed in the game at one point which was coded into the game. The video was showing off visual glitches (which don't get me wrong, were cool and interesting), however these are very different to cogs due to reasons I just mentioned.
@@MuzikBike When I said "something along the lines of "remember these blocks?"" I meant "along the lines of", not litteraly. Any example of him acting he's talking about something we know as a friend, rather than an educator. Not everyone knows about this which is why the video exists.

It’s a good day when ant venom uploads
That is so trippy watching the stem slowly glow higher than 1 block, yanking up the next texture in the line out of the ground.
I completely forgot that at one point all of the block textures existed within one file. What a throwback to the days of making crappy, worse than vanilla texture packs that I would proudly use anyways. We’re spoiled nowadays with our resource packs and data/behavior packs. It was a simpler time, that’s for sure.
The cake 1 is easy to explain basically its rendered inverted and because minecraft has "backface culling" which hides backwards faces from the camera and the inside texture seems to be drawing from other block textures for the same reason as the others in this video.
This is actually fascinating
I remember my big cousin and my other cousin was playing Minecraft. My big cousin discovered the reactor block. I do NOT know how he got it but he said that if you use it, something crazy will happen. So, we decided to try it. Pig men were spawning and a big nether box appeared. Fascinating.
