I don’t care what kind of snaps or airs kalohe and kanoa were pulling, there is simply no comparison to Kelly’s surfing. The flow, variety and style were not even in the same ballpark. Kinda lame the judges are just rewarding one off tricks over the collective surfing of a wave.
While I'd love to have Italo's backhand airs and acrobatic talent, I'd STILL rather surf like Slater than anyone else. His flow through an entire wave is unmatchable. Other surfers can look so disjointed and floppy when they are clearly focused on just trying to find a ramp and recover from airs. And Kolohe STILL, and always will, surfs like a little boy.
I hate contest surfing. Slater is hands down a much better surfer than Kolohe or Igarashi. These two guys have very little power in their surfing in comparison to Kelly.
Good to see andino get a fair judge. He always gets chapped by the judges especially against jj. The one at supertubes where he dominated he got so robbed.
Can anyone tell me why Kanoa represents Japan but grew up and spent his entire amateur career in Huntington Beach. In addition to Jumping up and down with his 714 area code Surfboard after winning the US Open? Phony.
if you had the chance to represent your country you would do it. Only difference is you’re white and fully American. Its a sense of nationalism except not for the USA. So close-minded you folk
Because his Japanese parents gave up their life to relocate to America so that their son could have the best conditions to become the best surfer. At the end of the day, his blood is fully Japanese
@@coolbeanz359 He is a full on turncoat...PERIOD!!!!! Quick to turn your back on those who taught you. I used to kinda like to watch him surf, but not any longer. EVERYTHING he knows about surfing he learned at HB. It's like being an orphan and get adopte by a couple and you grow into a young man and your biological parents want to "connect" with you all of a sudden and you start calling them "mom" or "dad" when all the time it was the people who were raising you are your REAL mom and dad. Ever notice how he has not been doing well on the circuit as he used since he has made this decision to be a turncoat?
Even though Kelly’s not winning World titles I think he’s still the most pleasing to the eye to watch surf out of everyone
100% correct
Absolutely agree
Kelly is in different level of surfing
It's nice to see Kelly Slater in competition again 🤙🌊🏄♂️
Kelly looking like the best of them in that heat by far
6.5 for a two barrel wave? How
@@lucasmulvehill6300 judges would rather see little awkward looking chop hops
The GOAT is sooooo buttery smooth
NOBODY on tour has a board that maneuver's like Kelly's boards. So responsive. He truly knows what he likes and the shapers are delivering.
GOAT is so clean, so smooth, a master showing the kids how and what style looks like.
Thanks for bringing the heat recaps back.
カノアさん、残念でした😭
悔しいーーーー💨
次も応援しますよ📣📣📣💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽
Translation: Kumnoa and his fake dad are garbage!
Kelly looking good
Gee, Andino has stepped up his game big time! Very impressive.
Kelly looks magical on that Aipa board!
Kelly's 6.50 is underscored, and should be a 7.50. Kelly is surfing with speed, power, and flow. What is wrong with the judges?
I thought it would be closer to 8 something and I’m not even a huge Kelly fan
Love the heat edit..More rock less talk🤙
Still less the grades of each wave.

Just a reminder….Kelly is 49 years old……40..fing..9. Jesus he’s in crazy great shape and still absolutely kills it

Kelly easily looked the best...but Andino was clean too.
Kelly’s surfing is so beautiful. He is perfect.
