    Let me know if you have any questions about door to door solar!

    • @kidbluntt
      @kidbluntt 2 роки тому +1

      I’m going out in about a month to Orlando to be an appointment setter, do you have any tips on the initial interaction with the homeowner? You seemed to have a successful summer!

    • @ConnorJaksik
      @ConnorJaksik  2 роки тому +6

      @@kidbluntt Orlando will be great! There’s a few things that helped me be successful…
      1. Commit to the position for a specific amount of time no matter what happens.
      2. Knock on more doors than anyone else
      3. Have fun with it and do your best not to care what happens
      #3 helped me the most. I tricked myself into thinking I’m just going out to meet people and to make friends. You will get a ton of rejection and this mindset turns every single door into a success. It allows you to be yourself and it keeps your morale high which makes you come across as a normal trustworthy person which will ultimately translate into more sales.

      I'm about to start at Encor Solar as an appointment setter. They pay you 200 for every app. set, and 250 for every close, is that worth it? Would I make good money, having worked the same job yourself? Cuz bro, when you said they paid you 2,500 for every sale, I shit a brick.

    • @ConnorJaksik
      @ConnorJaksik  Рік тому +1

      @@compcomedy759 Depends what your long term goal is. If you want to become a closer and they have a clear path to becoming one and good training, it could be worth it. But if you just want to be an appointment setter, personally I would look for higher commission. Vivint Smart Home was paying the $2500

If you can work with one when things are going well you can make a lot of money in a short amount of time. Just ask them a lot of questions when you're looking around. I'm so confused and can't tell who is being honest or exaggerating. One video said, she made $700 a month but other say they made thousands and I know it can vary depending on a lot of factor but the difference just seems odd. Some are saying you'd be lucky to get one customer a month after knocking thousands of doors. I'd be happy to make $30 an hour on average but there are people saying 95% people will make less than minimum wage.

    • @ConnorJaksik
      @ConnorJaksik  7 місяців тому +2

      That's a really good question!! I wondered the same thing for years... The reason why this happens is because the opportunity to make a lot of money is out there, but it requires a crazy kind of determination to be successful at it. Sales companies tell everyone that if they work hard they will make a lot of money, but they just do that to get people working and see who lasts. It's like the difference between a Lebron James and a 4th string player. One of them is completely dialed in and will win at all costs, where the 4th string player just shows up.

    Just got into the game. I did a week long blitz for home security systems and that was not my jam. Ended up having a mental health crisis because of it. Now I am a much stronger individual and I'm knocking 600 doors a week. The fields have been plucked bare of the easy wins but there are still pockets of untouched homeowners and people READY to go solar. Even scavengers can make good money by committing to spending 4-5 hours canvassing 5 days a week and following up on appointments. Walk, Knock, Inform, Schedule and let the Closers work for their money.

    • @ConnorJaksik
      @ConnorJaksik  Рік тому +2

      @The Millenial Project With this company, when the contract was signed on the iPad by the customer, we would get paid $500 within 24 hours. Then once the system was actually installed we would get paid the remaining $1,500-$2000. Sometimes it took a few months for the install to happen and sometimes customers cancelled before the install. I mention somewhere in the video how I would have made over $40K, but because of a few cancelations I lost those commissions.

      That’s a great question. As you saw in the video, the installs were unpredictable and you only get the full commission once they're installed. Also, I came across an opportunity to build a business in a different industry. As lucrative as solar sales can be, at the end of the day it’s only sales unless you’re starting a company. I’m more interested in building a business that can produce residual cash flow and be sold at a later time.

      The best way to know for sure is by trying it! I know SEO and ad cost for solar is extremely competitive which could make conversion from a website very difficult. Depends on what your short and long term goals are. A website could take years to see an ROI depending on your web skills, when there are people hustling door to door making hundreds of thousands in their first year. It's an interesting idea though, I have considered making an online lead generation company!

      @@NinjaWarrior702 I worked for Sunrun and Vivint Smart Home so that's all I can speak for. Out of those, I would recommend Vivint because you have access to their current alarm clientele list which you can service and pitch solar to. They also had a high commission. Luckily there are a lot of solar companies so don't be afraid to reach out to all of them and negotiate the best contract. I hope that helps.

If you want to set appointments for yourself, you can. If you bring value to the organization, they'll train you and help you grow.
