  • The pond project doesn’t start off so well. First I had engine troubles and then on the first load I flipped the JCB haul truck. But at the end of the day it all worked out.

    Hey Sam, Thanks for linking this video to us. Mary Grace loves it. For some reason, the hog is her favorite of all your equipment. She was especially interested when it flipped over. And when you were working on the fuel injectors, she said, "I feel like this man do's everything." haha. Thought you'd apprecate that. Thanks for taking the time to share your work with us. And it's a blessing to have a youtube channel we can watch without worrying about whether the language will be clean. Appreciate you sharing the Gospel in your videos too, brother! -Josh

    4:57 a small tool kit in the cab can be a huge time saver. Amazon, Walmart online, Home Depot online, and eBay have decent quality cheap tools. Some RTV an o-ring kit and gasket material too. Just a thought.

    Here is a little history on the X frame, it was invented by a Corporal in the British army, he must be pretty rich by now, he done it for the rough terrain forklift and the Eager Beaver was born, I would check the centre swivel system at the centre of the X it should not be that loose, you have gotten a brilliant little Bubba Dump there, even Mike was impressed when he got the bigger one, he had to show it some love at first, but if you ask him he would tell you he wouldn't get shot of it.

    Sam, there are a few things I think when starting a job. When you know what needs to be done don’t take shortcuts. I repeat in my head don’t be lazy just do what needs to be done because if you don’t it will take longer in the end and cost more to fix. I have found in life that short cuts are more of a headache in the end. Trust me every time I say don’t be lazy in my head I start an argument with myself for a few seconds and then remember all the outcomes from rushing or just not taking the few extra minutes to do it right. You got this. Only thing that holds us back is ourselves. Keep up the good work.

Second, the dump truck is never supposed to be greasy side up. At least there was no damage though. I like that little truck. I had bad luck yesterday myself. I was swapping buckets on my skidsteer, I looked over my shoulder and saw nothing. I always check the back up camera before I back up and saw nothing. I backed up and heard a crunch. I ran over the plastic lid on an underground propane tank. Luckily, there was no gas leak. Lol. I told the contractor what I had done and to send me a bill when it was fixed. What's that beeping sound coming from your D5?

    • @tristardiggin
      @tristardiggin  6 місяців тому

      It is the seat belt warning beeper. It goes off intermittently while using it.

      Solid engine. Does that truck have any mirrors?

    • @tristardiggin
      @tristardiggin  10 місяців тому +1

      @russellsmith3825 it doesn’t. And it definitely needs them. The guy I bought it from said they had a hard time keep mirrors on it. I have some to put on it at some point and a backup camera too.

      Depending on the roof construction, you might be able to borrow a page from a mobile home toter truck and mount a piece of square tubing across the front of the roof, then using a slightly smaller tubing with set screws to lock them in place you could hang a couple mirrors that can be stowed for transport.
      Edit to add, this would be a ton better than the braille method for backing up.

      @@russellsmith3825 yup that is a good idea. Hope to get the camera on it at some point. That will be nice to have.

      I love this truck. Not sure how I was getting by without it! It changes the way you look at jobs having the ability to move dirt around on a job.
