Last year was the first time making gingerbread and the family and myself loved them (normally i'm not a fan of gingerbread) and the royal icing was so easy to make and so much fun having the family help me decorate the different shapes... why add the corn syrup into the icing? what is the function of the corn syrup here? I usually just use sugar, few drops of lemon, egg white and almond flavour in it, so really intrigued and keen to learn. Thanks.
