Painted on location with acrylics, this landscape focuses on the subject of contrasting and intensity of color in relation to distance. More intense colors are placed in the foreground and recede to less intense colors in the background giving a sense of depth to the painting. The cattle were added in the studio to create another point of interest. Sarah enjoys a walk through the nearby covered bridge and down to the Little Pigeon River.

Loved this one, too, Roger. Especially..... because I am from East Tennessee.

Thank you Roger and Sarah ! I love your new rescue puppers Nick ! He really enjoyed it ! It was great seeing Sarah and Nick checking out the surroundings ! Roger I can’t express just how much as a teacher you have inspired me ! The way you explain everything in detail from how to paint, the surroundings, your secrets, and you helped me with the need and how to for negative spaces. Soon I will get the courage to really start painting. Thank you ! I love that I can watch on my iPad as opposed to Create tv . I can see details much better on an iPad. I’m very nearsighted. I can take my glasses off and see everything clearly.

Your pallet seems to be to the side (not looking at your subject). Is this just the way you paint or is this a technique. Jack
