New product video: • Class 66 Style control...
OLD VIDEO
So here is my first UA-cam video. Incredibly dull I know, but some of you wanted to see the controllers in action.
Works quite well in TSW, and would in TS2020 too with some tweaking..
Any questions let me know in the comments. - Ігри
Brilliant nice to see someone shoeing the commitment that flight simmers have Best train sim controller I have ever seen. With slight adjustment could be used with any train ton out of ten for the video as well. Keep us updated for more.
I just found your channel and this is amazing! Looking forward to see your next updates.
Well done bro, this is a very accurate system you've set up. You gave me so much anxiety lol watching you set off with the parking brake still applied and then keeping it on the whole journey lol
Absolutely AMAZING! well done :)
Brilliant, really impressive.
If you needed any technical or programming help anywhere I would love to help, although looks like you do great job. I am software and electronics designer/engineer for the fireworks industry. A simmer also, but mainly WW2 flight sim. Have built game controllers from scratch using pic mcu. Nice work you are doing on these!
very very impressive, I would be interested too, like someone else has said, a kickstarter would be good for this, it will help you assess demand and help to bring the price and workload down too
WOW just WOW this is AMAZING
This is absolutely incredible!
This is AWESOME!
very cool, would 100% buy one
Cool build! If I had any electronics know-how, I'd like to build something like this for steam locomotives.
Great video love the class 66 wow!!!
That is an amazing achievement well done it looks fantastic. I would definitely buy one from you. You should start a kickstarter.
Im currently working on a Class 377 style controller which works for all locos with combined brake/throttle controllers. Would you be interested in that? Im looking to commercialise if I can make it worthwhile ie; people are willing to pay enough for the parts and my time.
TSWDan yeah I would be interested in helping you out to make this happen
I would definitely buy the parts and pay you for your time I think you will be on to a good investment. If you speak to Allan Thomson aswell he might do a review on his channel of your equipment. Get it out there and show all the train sims fans up and down the country
The 377 style Power Brake Controller is pretty much finished now and ready for action. I'm just perfecting the software to go with TS2020. Stay tuned for some videos and info in the next few days.
TSWDan Excellent looking forward to seeing it in action I’ve subscribed to you so can see it when you put it up.
OMG. I was literally talking about the lack of full size high quality controllers for train sims! Then, I find you!. Really cool stuff. Love to build a steam train controller. That would be a project though. This is what happens to the little boys who grow up and can now waste money on our silly dreams. Thank god though, right?
such a stunning bit of kit mate i am extremely jelous of youre skills top work
This is incredible, I’d buy one. I’d been considering trying to do something similar for US locos
I am wanting to do one for us locos also
Muy bueno!!!, felicitaciones desde Argentina, tambien te compraria uno. Saludos!!!
if you made a controller with a throttle with the reverser, dynamic brake, independent and train brake for the american style locomotives, id be first in line!! great job!
Cool machine!
Great job man! Awesome! Big like!
Very nice
nice controller, i am in the process of doing one my self but with classic diesels.
I would like to get cut down loco cab and build it like a cock pit flight sim.dave.
Amazing! if it was buyable I would get it
Stellar work Dan, truly exemplary. I wish that such dedication to TSW was shown also by all other DTG devs (looking at those who forgot to illuminate signals on HRR, etc.)
A question, though: Do you think your method is applicable to the RailDriver? It would be amazing to be able to use the RailDriver with TSW.
Im not sure how the Raildriver works, so not sure.
Nice
That is very very cool indeed, well done!! ! I would most definitely be interested in purchasing one!
Thanks, stay tuned.
I'm still surprised at the lack of support for regular Direct X USB controllers in all these train games.
How do you wire up the horn, I have a spring return joy stick which is two way?
nice video
I didnt think TSW would accept any analog injection, to be honest this simulator should support this stuff out of the box! 10/10
will you be sharing any information on how you achieved this?
Basically its using a microprocessor board as a keyboard emulator. So the controls are programmed carefully to enter keyboard commands with specific timing to act like TSW does when using a keyboard. Its not guaranteed to work, but it works at least 95% of the time, probably more with extra tweaking. The buttons are fine, but the throttle sometime misses commands.
Is it possible to do a cut down version of the AAR controle stand?
Yea its around 6000
I'd be curious to know how you're acheiving the throttle positioning, I've tried to achieve something similar using software and a HOTAS but couldn't get into work properly
Its custom made software I'm using, with carefully time keyboard commands, alot of tweaking and still ot perfect.
I would definitely buy the Class 377 one, hopefully it could work on PS4
I'm not sure it would, needs to be tested! Even if it did, it may be a bit flaky. My friends has a PS4 so will try it out after lockdown!
@@tscontrollers 👍🏻
W o w
Very immersive! I am waiting for the combined controller to come back in stock. Is there a separate brake/power handle available?
Stunning work will definitely get one if you plan to start selling these controllers
Also would it be possible to make one for the HST
Anything is possible, it's just time and money. The above controller is probably a weeks work, so you can probably imagine the cost.
I am producing a range of simpler controllers though. See my other videos.
TSWDan, great effort!! Did you manage to control the master key switch? I did a button box using encoders/toggles/push buttons and used JoyToKey to emulate keypresses ( with a lot of fiddling on key press timing durations to emulate the way TSW does it) but the Master Key switch would not clear the ‘master key ON’ on-screen message via the button box (and therefore would not allow you to progress in the game) so I had to stick with mouse/keyboard operation for that, did wonder if it was a TSW bug.
Hi, I do have the master key working in the TSW Class 377 and 166 with another controller ive just made. I find the masterkey doesnt really work properly in classic TS2020 though.
Sorry sir I saw someone with just the horn nothing else, is it possible to buy the horn without having it on the PBC
Please can I buy one of these if so how much will it cost? 🤔
Looks really good. You say there are a lot of stock parts, so roughly how much did it cost you to make?
Probably £150-200. Thats electronics, all the buttons and switches. 3d printing. Plastic / Metalwork. Paint. Stickers.
@@tscontrollers Thats... surprisingly cheap for being a custom controller. I mean Raildrivers are around the same price range with shipping, but awfully small and US layout... Do you have a list somewhere of the tech you used under the hood to connect it up to a PC and generally the design process? I'm sure many people would interested in getting something more true to their local railways and a bit larger than a raildriver when its doable in that price range.
Have you done a 158 cab setup yet? I would love to see 1 for TS2022
I am very interested in making a US loco version of one of these. Which off the shelf parts did you get? What parts did you 3D print? What microcontroller did you use?
Would this work with other train sims like Run 8?
Not currently no.
+ @TS Controllers will it ever be released, if so what date
No it wouldnt. Custom requests can be done but as it's a few weeks work you could probably imagine the cost.
Have you thought of making one for North American locomotives? I like the Raildriver but an AAR Style Control Stand would feel a lot better than the desktop style control stand.
I haven't, no.
@@tscontrollers you definitely should, i can imagine people would pay some pretty good money for that
The graphics look amazing! Did you add some graphic mods?
Nope, standard TSW with all settings at max and 2560x1440 resolution.
Can that be used for American locomotives as well?
Yes
This is seriously cool. What electronics are required to make a controller like this?
Im using a microprocessor board to act as a keyboard emulator. This is programmed to interpret the control inputs and send commands over USB like a keyboard which TSW then reads.
Would you do one for the hst and how much would it cost
I will not be doing any customs ones at the moment, But I am producing a power brake controller, see my other video for details.
What are the google searchable terms for the levers used on the throttle, brakes and the reverser? I've looked at doing this before however I've haven't been able to find similar levers.
The reverser and throttle is custom designed, and then 3d printed. The brake lever is a HKA1-41Z02
@@tscontrollers So is the throttle just a rotary switch with a custom handle at a 90 degree angle? Or completely custom?
@@JammyRogers Its completely custom. I'm using a potentiometer to measure the values. Had to be custom to design the correct notches and angle that the handle moved. Also rotary damping to give it stiffness.
Will this work on iPad's Trainz Driver?
Nope.
How much would this cost? Will it be available to be purchased? I would love to see a sprinter style cab. Loving the work you put into these. Well done
I would do commissions if people want. It won't be cheap considering its a week's work plus all the parts.
@@tscontrollers roughly how much for the 66 cab? I may consider it
Hi, please get in touch via www.tscontrollers.co.uk or message on facebook.com/TS-Controllers-105162937847935/
How do you actually build the levers, are they off the shelf components?
There are no off the shelf components used on the throttle reverser stack. Its all custom engineered metalwork and plastic.
@@tscontrollers Awesome stuff. Great work making the notches and tensioning. Will the EMU CPB have an 'infinite' braking option as present on the desiros?
@@ewsclass6679 No it has 4 notches for brake.
Wondering are you still working on future projects, Actually, I would buy one of these if you made another, and what it would cost, what you have here is a bit better than the rail driver for the class 66 at least. And would it work with TSW2 and TSW3?
Hello yes. Lots of projects being worked on. Follow the Facebook page or website tscontrollers.com. TSW3 support is planned but not sure when yet.
@@tscontrollers I for sure will be keeping an eye out.
How exactly did you get this controller to communicate with the game? It's easy enough to emulate keyboard input, but I'm still puzzled over things like throttles and brakes, etc..
Its all just keyboard emulation for TSW.
I will buy one how much are they?
Very cool! Will there be a 377 one?
Hi yes, making one at the moment.
TSWDan id totally pay for this for a 377.

how to buy the controller please tell me 😢
How does one go about making one of these? 🤔
Its a mix of welding, metalwork, 3d printing, plastic work, electronics, programming.
what's the name for the throttle? does anyone sell on alibaba/ebay/amazon online shop
please answer 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Its all custom made.
you have two right hands?
That's a full size reverser and throttle.
Where did you get that setup? I cant find any controllers/brake levers/buttons to trains. So how on earth did you find it?!?!
It's all custom made.
@@tscontrollers Oh ok thx for the answer!
It is possible to buy it?
No, it was a custom made 1 off I built.
Will this work for xbox train sim world
PC only.
Would this work with PS4?
May or may not, not sure.
Whats the link to buy it?
This is not available to purchase although custom requests can be done at some point.
Compatibility for Xbox One?
No as MS do not allow unlicensed controller to interface.
@@tscontrollers Ah okay, thanks for the info.
for how much would you sell this device if you were selling ???
I will be producing the throttle/reverser unit for sale soon. Keep an eye on the website tscontrollers.co.uk soon.
I want that
10:11 deadman switch?
Its called AWS (Automatic warning system). Needs to be pressed before approaching signals in certain states.
Where’d you buy it
I made it!
@@tscontrollers omg your really talented!
Hi, how much would you want for this class 66 controller? If you are selling of course
They will be available to purchase soon from here: tscontrollers.com/product/class-66-style-controls/
@@tscontrollers Thanks so much. Any ideas on prices as of yet?
@@easternrailfreight Keep and eye on the website and Facebook page.
Hola soy argentino estoy interesado en adquirir uno
How can i buy controller form you??
Visit tscontrollers.com
Parking on😱
Please sell this!
It's possible for by this controller or not ?
I can make custom controllers on request.
@@tscontrollers okay. Do you need them for yourself?
Not sure what you mean?
@@tscontrollers It's just for you this controler or it's possible to by the controler for Class 66 ?
@@robinhosotte2330 As said, I can make these controllers on request. Contact me at tscontrollers.co.uk if interested.
did you ever start making and selling these? let me know the price
You can find them on the website: www.tscontrollers.com .They will be for sale very soon.
@LeonTFSISport so the lever panel on the right side of the screen you are using in this video are what i want, any idea what they will cost?im looking for one setup for the american stuff, dynamic brake, throttle and indie brake and train brake and reverser with buttons. I didnt see anything on the website like that.
Pricing still to be confirmed
would a usb button encoder work to make a sim controller??
3 questions. Did you make it yourself? And how did you make it and how long did it take. Also it looks amazing. If this is custom built I’m gonna make one for the LIRR M7
Hello. Yes I did make it and it looks a couple of months. How I made it is a bit of a vague question. It involves metal work, welding, 3d printing, plastic work, electronics, and programming.
TS Controllers oh. I don’t have as many parts. Well maybe in the future.
Is this using Arduino
This one is yes.
do you sell this tool, i am very interested in the throttle @@tscontrollers I tried Arduino Leonardo but so far it hasn't worked...
