  • Testing out the new Rapala Rap V Blade bait. On a two Southern California lakes that get a lot of fishing pressure! The design is great for shore fishing! The slower rate of fall and front hooks help it from being snagged on weeds and brush. And you can also make very long casts with it, into a strong wind is no problem! I'll be doing a more in depth video soon on on the set up, how and where to fish it. If you have any questions about the bait, please comment below.

Thanks Nick! That was the first crappie I've ever been able to catch there.

U should go to Konnevesi, Finland for big trout. Siikakoski was fishing spot for american president Jimmy Carter. Welcome to Finland

Hell ya. I mainly use rpr-5’s I jig it slowly.. lost about 5 blue colored ones but got over 15 fish this summer with lipless crankbaits. Was tryin to find a smaller one at my local fleet farm ended up seeing this exact blue blade lipless rapala.. gonna try couple different ways to fish it, constant reel-jerk method- pull drop method see what works the best. The voodoo haze one has gotta me quite a few but the blue with Crome wow!

Sounds like a good bite! The blue chrome is a great pattern. And the retrieve method you're using works excellent. Tight lines!

It was a medlium-fast set up, same as I would use for small crankbaits.

does changing the hooks will compromise the action?

Yes, it would change the balance of the bait depending on the size of the hooks. But maybe not too much.

I would sharpen them, nothing wrong with the hooks themselves caught a 3ft musky with a v blade today and everything worked the right way

You speed up the retrieve sections of the vid!!!! We want to see how your working it. The most critical thing and you hid it.😂

Looking back, wish I made this video longer. For shore fishing, I try to keep the bait running higher and constant to minimize the chances of getting snagged, making it tick across the top of weeds or rocks. In a boat, I'll reel it slower along the bottom at times like a crankbait, and also snap jig it off the bottom if it's gravel/sand. But the steady "medium to medium fast" retrieve for all around bass fishing works best.
