Вставка
- Опубліковано 6 сер 2024
- Having a wobbly build plate can cause many issues, including ghosting, layer shifting, and bed leveling issues. In this short video, I go over how to fix a wobbly build plate. I use an Ender 3 Pro in the video, but the process applies to most 3d printers on the market today.
*Note: I created this video to fix an issue I was having, so I didn’t cover everything. If you run through the steps covered in the video and you are still having issues. I would recommend checking out this video. I cover everything in more detail there.

Hey guys, thanks for watching! Hopefully, this video helped you get started with your Ender 3 Pro. If you have any questions or would like other tips/tricks, just let me know in the comments.
You’re a life saver! This is my first printer and your videos are super helpful! I can’t thank you enough you’re awesome!
You are so welcome!
Your video wasn't the correct fix for me. For anyone else with a rocking bed, try tightening the two eccentric nuts on the right side of the bed (left side doesn't have it). I watched Jerry Jacksons DIY video on fixing the bed and it worked. Thanks anyways, man!
Hi. Thanks for the feedback. I did this video based on the issue I was having. I realized afterward that I should have talked about the eccentric nuts. I will add a note about them in the description.
There seems to be a slightly different design on my new Ender 3 Pro which just arrived as you don't need to use an allen key (just the spanner) but this fixed my issue before bed levelling.
Thank you for helping out us newbies to 3d printing!
Hi. Thanks for the info and feedback.
Great info Thanks!
Glad it was helpful!
Great video thanks for your help 👍
Glad it helped
good video, quickly just jumping thru, did you ever touch the hex standoffs between the wheel and plate? took me over a year to find out they drill it off centre. meaning on side pushes the wheel closer to the extruded frame. very useful to get any twist in the bed
Hi. Ya i had to adjust those for different reasons. I cover that in more detail on the replacement video i made for this.
Your movie helps me alot thanks!
Happy to help!
Hi, good video 🙂 I would just add that the adjustment needed of the bearing wheels can also be on the eccentric nuts. Turning them a bit at a time will remove the last of that wobble.
Thanks, and thanks for the additional tip!
Yup, that did the trick. Also, easier than using the allen wrench in that tight spot. Thanks, Aaron.
This was the correct fix for me.
@@Violianom yes this video is actually 100 percent wrong. I wish he would clarify that torqueing the small 8mm nuts does not fix the issue whatsoever. My guess is that he just got lucky with the eccentric nuts being turned while he was trying his "fix".
@@MakerMods yeah, my bed wobbled up and down a few millimeters at the edges and was even able to rotate, this fixed it in just a few seconds
I didn't know this haha. I was wondering what to do about that. Thanks!
Glad I could help!
Hi, you are great. I have a shift happening after 1st mm. Then all is normal but still not what i need. I admit my maintenance is crappy. Do i need to oil the long vertical screw? I know i have to clean the bottom wheels. They are used pretty badly. Do i have to exchange them? This scares me…. Do you have a video on that? I have an ender 3. I checked the tension on the belts, they make a sound, so i guess they are ok. Do i have to actually take them out and look if they are damaged? Also, found some advice on looking at the pulleys but no video how to do that…. I am not a mechanic but a woman who, well, is scared of destroying my work tool. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Hi. I have a video covering the lubing the z axis and that should fix any issues there. That said, i would also look for a damaged wheel or something like that.
thx mate so usefull
You're welcome
Thank You. I just bought ender s1 pro and it came to me with wobbly bed
You're Welcome
They dare mess with your printer!? YEET THE CHILD!
Haha, ya gotta love kids lol.
can you do a video or something showing how much wobble/movement there is when its fixed?
Hi. There should be basically no movement, but i will try to make a video on it.
This video is great and definitely helps with my problem. But my screws are opposite of these, nuts on the bottom. I guess the bed has to come off
Hi. What do you mean by the screws are opposite of these?
In fact, the first thing to do before assembling any screews on an Ender, is to put a level on the bed, perpendicular to Y axis. Than we slide manualy along Y axis an see if it's the same a along. If not investigate. It might be about roller but also a warped Y axis extrusion.
Hi. Thanks for the feedback. That’s good advice for someone setting up their printer for the first time.
@3D Printscape what about up/down movemt
Hi. Thats still caused from the wheels not being tight enough, this video should fix it.
@@3DPrintscape thank you so much!
“Got knocked by my kids” = smashed with sledge hammer out of frustration 💀😅
Haha, close enough :)
jezus fuck your bitrate and quality is high hahahah gj man
How do I stop the actual printer from wobbling!
Hi. If your still having issues after tightening everything, try to adjust the eccentric nuts on the right side of the bed.
The most important part of the video is off screen. I have no idea where you put the wrench. It is not clear what you were adjusting. You should have thrown this footage away and redone it with better camera placement.
Hi. Sorry about the camera angle, Its such a small area to work that there wouldn’t really be a good way to capture it with the camera I have. The wrench goes on the nut that is above the steel frame.
This is easier on the ender 3 pro, one side of the carriage has eccentric nuts that can be turned using the 8mm wrench to press the wheels into the track. Access only needed from the bottom side, which is nice.
Hi. It is for sure.
Idk about that I've had so many issues with my brand new ender 3 pro. Now I'm having trouble getting the bed to stop wobbling. I've tightened the stationary wheels and done the eccentric nuts but even if I get it close it's never right and the best I've done is print in the middle of the bed
I disassembled the bed to get at it.
Hi. Thanks for the feedback. Thats a bit more work but does make other parts of the task easier.
For anyone stil having this problem even after you've tightened everything, make it tighter. These have to be SUPER tight.
Hi. Thanks for sharing. Just don’t over tighten them. I had an issue where I dented a wheel doing that.
strong recommend against leaning an ender 3 on its side. Luckily power supply still ok
Hi. Thanks for the feedback. I have had no issues doing this but you will need to relevel the bed and stuff.
@@3DPrintscape was a helpful video for getting the basic idea of what was going on. I just had the provided wrench and don't have enough hands to hold the provided wrench in place while squeezing the rollers together and tightening them, and you can't just lean it against the works or else it gets stuck and you undo your efforts.
@@williaminnes6635 Hi. ya it can be a pain some times. Thanks for the feedback.
I've tightened everything down and it's still wobbling
Hi. Did you tighten the eccentric nuts on the right side of the bed?
@@3DPrintscape i just said I've tightened everything down, didn't I?
@@RIPLinkTTV The eccentric nuts are different, so i wanted to make sure you got those. If you tightened all of the outside bolts/nuts and it still wobbles you can adjust the eccentric nuts to fix that.
@@3DPrintscape how can I adjust the eccentric nuts?
@@RIPLinkTTV This is an old video, i cover that more in this version of the video. ua-cam.com/video/AAlDrkhMqYw/v-deo.html
This is laughable. The actual point of the video is completely off screen. Amazing.
Hi. Thanks for the feedback. This was one of my first videos and i ended up remaking it. You can see the updated video here. ua-cam.com/video/AAlDrkhMqYw/v-deo.html
@@3DPrintscape OK thank you.
It doesn’t work
Hi. What part isn’t working for you? If you still have any wobble, you probably need to tighten the eccentric nuts a bit.
still wobbly
Hi. Try to tighten the eccentric nuts on the right side of the bed.
Bad angle on your printer. Can see much of what your talking about
Hi. Thanks for the feedback, it’s a hard camera angle to get.
Rob has some good ideas to get you going but assuming all your hardware is snug this doesn't fix bed wobble. Go check out Easy Fix for Bed Wobble on Ender 3 3D Printer by Jerry Jackson DIY, he has the missing info to Rob's video plus Jerry keeps it short, sweet and to the point...unlike this comment
Hi. Thanks for sharing.
You know this video would be 100x better if you stayed on topic, filmed the important parts (or drew a diagram! or took off the bed plate! you're trying to make an educational video!) - I was hoping for an explanation of things to consider not 5 minutes of you turning 4 screws, we know how screws work!
Hi. Thanks for the feedback. I agree the use of a diagram would have helped out. It's difficult to create a video that will make everyone happy, so I try to target the 80%.
@@3DPrintscape I saw a reddit post of a guy spitting and cursing that he was tightening those bolts till he went blue and only made it worse - if you position yourself as a teacher you have a responsibility. Imagine if your doctor told you, well I'm sorry your surgery went wrong, I try to target the 80%. 🤷♂️
I found this video useful where other videos made it seem trickier. I guess I'm in the 80%
@@OnufrievS This could have literally been a 60 second video. "See these bolts? Tighten them." plus, the part he forgot "See these right side bolts? they are eccentric"
I hate you, I've been dealing with this forever and I watched your video and I thought that was the best it was gonna get. you were wrong this whole time. there are two hex nuts by the wheel. that's where you tighten it, not the nuts between the plates.
directly on top of the wheels on the right side is where you tighten the hex nuts. and hold the plate down while you're doing it.
Hi. Thanks for the feedback. Sorry I didn’t cover the eccentric nuts in the video. I was focused on correcting the larger issue I was having from my kids messing with the bed. You would need to make sure the parts I coved are tight, then if you are still having issues, you would look into tightening the eccentric nuts.
I seriously doubt your kids did that by bumping it, its called a lack of maintenance
Hi. Thanks for the feedback. I understand that lack of maintenance can definitely cause the bed to get out of level and wobble. In this case, it was my kids. If it were just lack of maintenance on my side, I would have approached the video differently, showing things that could happen without proper maintenance.
