@markusgorelli5278 I'm sure, like all soldiers, no one has any idea what brass and the politicians are really doing. This is kinda common to be fair. It’s also a political thing too because if NK decided that they’d send 10k ppl and also guns, ammunition, artillery, combat vehicles etc it would be more of an expeditionary force than a ‘volunteer’ force. This would cross more red lines as it would be seen as North Korea joining the war completely rather than them just helping out. It would be like America sending Britain an entire fighter wing, planes, ammo, fuel, full officer support with pilots during the Battle of Britain instead of just sending material support and keeping ‘neutrality’

'baba yaga a demon from hell'... i dont think demon is a good translation i think he said - 'dragon' possibly meaning a 'fire breathing drone' i think he is mixing russian terms with korean to describe a thermite drone, but meaning a dragon egg drone...commonly used to fight fires by dropping potassium permanganate filled balls to create a fire break or clear forest..there is a good chance he would have encountered these before, but not a targeting thermite drone. also no north korean would use disposable wooden rice sticks..unless he is from a ruling family he would only have ever used chopsticks he kept and cleaned. this is going to happen when you use a south korean to debrief a north korean who has no words to describe items, then the south korean is relaying this to a native ukrainian, and the last translate then going through ai/google translator but the gist is clear..i suppose lol
Could be anything.. Our parents when we were kids used to scare us with "Baba Yaga", :"If you don't behave, Baba Yaga will come and take you to the woods".. So probably the Russian had fun and scared the North Koreans and they believed it
The KPA does (at least for ground forces) have some relatively “modern” gear (mid 2000s level tech) but the disparity between the worst and best equipped North Koreans is so great that it’s highly possible this soldier has never personally seen any equipment beyond beyond the 1970s. Must be too poor to afford a TV too, otherwise they’d see all their modern tech during the parades.

If “Business Basics” covered this video it’d go like: “GUYS, YOU HEARD IT FROM THE NORTH KOREAN DIRECTLY!! HE SAID THE RUSSIANS WILL NOT WIN THIS WAR! AND HOW COULD THEY? PUTIN IS A SCARED IDIOT!” So, I appreciate you highlighting nuance here and not being as cringe as “business basics” is.
Ref the lack of support and intl. Most North Korean military experience since the Korean War has been planed raids into the South to probe Islands or mountains of the DMZ as such they are used to highly planned operations with support into area's they have been basically looking at for last 70 years. Suddenly being sent to try and "find" some Ukrainians somewhere in the woods and steppe of Kursk in a confused and mixed up battle zone is about as far away from North Korean military experience as you can get.
From what I know, a lot of international fighters are in Ukraine, fighting on the Ukrainian side. The media only shows Russian losses, but we rarely see anything about Ukrainian losses. This war needs to end; Ukraine is losing a lot of soldiers and the whole country is in ruins.
If this was in the EU or Britain you could be heavily fined for identifying the person without his consent. Best get it in writing and ensure he understands what he is doing and what may happen in the future. And this has been viewed in these jurisdictions.
as far as "prior intelligence" or what i'm assuming is Recon, i think what the guy is talking about is they're not told what to expect. probably a general "attack this section of woods, or trench" since N.K. is basically a 1940s 50s esque military they're probably expecting like "are we attacking a heavily fortified place? is there a machine gun nest or team? is there any vehicles or artillery we need to be aware of?" and Russia is telling them to just go in nondescript general area and fight. that's what i think is going on, but i might be wrong
@draconian6692 sounds like standard old soviet tactics meat grinder. They did this against Germany in ww2 seems like soviet tactics are still being used overrun . I also know same tactics were used in the Korean war too .
I think what he means by "given no intelligence" is that there was no Orders Group for the assault. Well at least not at his level. Also, what I think he means by "given no weapons" is that the assaulting force were only equipped with their personal weapon. Probably an old AK. They were given no SAWs or other usual weapons (RPG, Hand Grenade, etc.).
Now that the United States is aligned with Russia and North Korea, it might be wise to reinstate visa requirements for U.S. citizens. Given the shifting alliances, stronger border measures could help ensure security and better control over foreign influence
@@Faust-Federel we have the same MAGA idiots in the UK. They are the Reform Party. @@thomaslunde5014how about we wait and see. Your underestimating one thing and that’s Trumps ego, he won’t be a pushover and i actually think this could work in Ukraines favour why? cause Trump won’t let Putins red line scare him, he will lay out a fair peace plan but it’s unlikely Putin will agree and if that happens Trump will drop any restrictions with long range weapons and even supply more arms to Ukraine. He won’t be scared like Biden/Harris who could have helped Ukraine finish this war a lot sooner or at least be in a strong position to negotiate yet they tied Ukraines hands behind their back with not allowing long range attacks. What’s more important peoples lives or a small chunk of land that’ll be here long after we are gone? I think a peace deal with a clause that if Russia break it Nato has the right to defend Ukraine if Putin can’t agree to that well he obviously wants all of Ukraine. Ukraine also needs to have consequences if it breaks the deal too. Trump is calling Natos bluff, they don’t spend enough on their military and now they are paying the price Trump wants a strong EU but not at the states expense, that’s why he’s been saying the things about wanting Putin to attack Nato countries he’s trying to make a point, and it’s a good one. Remember there’s no treaty or military pact that dictates the US should get involved and has Ukraine ever helped with any wars the US has fought over the last 30 years and the answer is no.
Re: Combat Zone duties. Ultimately the Marine or soldier has little personal choice normally: they get assigned their MOS (Infantry/Armor/Artillery) by Headquarters and placed in a unit or sector. Somebody that volunteers for Ranger Regiment or a Special Forces unit has a much higher probability, than say, rank and file infantry of seeing heavy combat.
