The characters designs are all so great. I can't believe Nintendo hasn't used them much more and indeed turned the entire F-Zero world into something much bigger than a few games.
(Sorry in advance for LONG comment) F-Zero X will always be my most favorite game on Nintendo 64. To this day I am forever grateful that I grew up with older siblings who were all Gamers back in the day so when they got older they gave me and my older brother their old hand-me-down consoles which included stuff like Super Nintendo and Nintendo 64. Once they all went off to college they gave us all different kinds of games and consoles to play together when we were bored and didn't have anything to do during summer vacation or time off school in general. Even though I was born in 96 I grew to appreciate the older game systems because that's all my older brother and I had growing up. The Super Nintendo and the Nintendo 64 or what sparked my love for gaming and F-Zero X was among one of the very first games I ever played on the console. I was about five years old at the time and I was blown away to know that my favorite Super Nintendo game, F-Zero actually had a sequel! I remember the countless years I spent with the Nintendo 64 playing that game with my brother father and older siblings when they would stop by. I memorized all of the tracks Vehicles pilot names, and As I Grew Older I was able to become skilled enough to beat Master mode on all of the Grand Prix cups too. Captain Falcon was always my favorite pilot in the first game and he still is my favorite Nintendo protagonist ever! But besides him my favorite Pilots were and still are - Leon, James McCloud and Super Arrow. Just say I love the F-Fero series would be a complete understatement. I've collected every bit of merchandise that I can over the years and I every watched the GP Legend anime at least 10 times over. XD I really hope one day someone at Nintendo gets those morons to wake up and finally make a new F-Zero game after all of these years. It's easily their most intense racing franchise that ever created and yet they choose to sleep on it? I hate that so much. I really hope one day F-Zero will be able to return.
Awesome comment, by far the best one here! But I agree! I'm right there with you, waiting on a new F-Zero game, it's been way too long. I guess there's always hope but we'll just have to wait and see!
@@Nightmare13113 Reading this made my afternoon, thank-you for not minding my long, probably Geeky comment. I really wish this series was more popular it would be awesome if the series was a lot more well-known because it's very rare people ever talk about this franchise unfortunately. But yeah I guess all we can do for now is keep the dream alive and hoping that one day Nintendo will open up their eyes and finally start using their brains again LOL.
@@jadestep9624 Thanks! The screenshot came from either Goten and Trunks shooting him with a water gun or Buu licking all of the pudding lol. I can't remember which. But yeah, he really is one of the cooler characters in Super. I'm hoping soon the writers will give us a rematch of Goku vs Beerus because it's been 7 years since Super started, although I've heard the rematch is unlikely.
3:29 I feel like this entire character is a reference to star fox... James McCloud is fox's dad's name, his clothes look similar to fox's clothes, and his machine looks like an arwing. I'm not sure if this was intended or not, but it's still cool
That is Fox's dad. I heard that the F Zero games take place in an alternate universe, which is why James McCloud is a human here instead, and is still alive. I never actually looked into this to confirm anything, but it's pretty neat imo.
I never really noticed until you mentioned it. The only time I ever played was when I emulated it, I never got to play on console. If that isn't supposed to be there then it's probably a texture/graphics glitch or something. If I had to guess, it's probably because I'm emulating the game.
N64 emulation has many problems to this day. Honestly all emulation has weird little stuff you notice like this if you've played on the original.hardware.
I can't pick just one favorite. I always liked Pico, Octoman, Black Shadow (He used to remind me of Batman when I was little), Jody Summer, Mrs. Arrow and James McCloud.

F-zero players: how you gonna fit to get in your machine, black shadow?
Black Shadow: the top one.

3:35 Fox McCloud Reference
Actually, it’s a reference to James McCloud, Fox’s late father.
Bio Rex has the best designed portrait! Then they fucked him up in GX.
they fu%4ed up a lot of them in GX...they stopped using the comic design that really made them look awesome
25 YRS AGO I WAS RIPPING THIS GAME
S-Race - Racing Games
Thanks for uploading this!
You're welcome!

James McCloud always
I feel like they could all win the title (Dr. Clash is my favorite tho)
