Since you like the brass section, i must tell you the studio version is far clearer, with a more complex trombone solo, followed by a trumpet solo and back and forth. Also, a Russian Chicago tribute band called Leonid and Friends does an amazing job with this song in their studio with great production quality so you can see the talent of each musician, particularly the brass. And Leonid and Friends performs the original studio album version. Chicago was amazingly tight for a 7 piece band and were unique for their time.
Nice to see you both checking out the music from the BEST decade of music...1970s! No doubt, Chicago is one of the GOAT bands...still kicking today. Enjoy your journey into their loooong list of hits!
This was an epic Chicago concert in 1970 at Tanglewood in Massachusetts (usually a venue for classical acts, most commonly the Boston Symphony Orchestra) and I'm so glad that it was recorded. All of the members were accomplished, experienced musicians (most had college music degrees) when they formed the band and you noted, the horn section is fantastic (the trombone player is James Pankow and he wrote all the horn arrangements for Chicago and arranged/played horn parts for other artists, including the song Rosanna by Toto). As another commenter said, you should check out the cover of this song by the Russian/Ukrainian band, Leonid and Friends, it really is incredible. Here's the link if you're interested... ua-cam.com/video/7kQ1llzPiB4/v-deo.html
Oh yes, Chicago!!! The most popular songs of the band are later. I like the early period more. My most, most songs: "25 Or 6 To 4", "Poem 58", "I'm A Man", "Poem For The People", "Goodbye", "Aire", "Old Days", "Southern California Purples".
I'm going to subscribe for doing Chicago, but can you please play the non-hits of the 70s? EVERYONE does the same 5 songs. "Women Don't Want To Love Me" is sooo funky. THAT would be introducing even Chicago fans to new stuff and would separate yourselves from all the other channels like Joey who now gets 33 views. There's a million doing the same songs. "Oh, Thank You Great Spirit" is a great song and they sound so different. There's 3 lead singers. Documentaries on UA-cam, Terry Kath one is free.
So lucky to have that on video, to see them do that live though was out of this world. You would have loved it and gone crazy like everyone else in the audience. They were incredible. I’m so thankful to live during that time, Chicago, EWF, Stevie Wonder and the list is endless!
The guitarist Terry Kath wrote 'introduction' off the same lp. The lp - Chicago Transit Authority also had 'Does anybody know what time it is?' Great lp, Better take on same tune.
I don't watch a crazy amount a reaction people, but y'all are seriously awesome. Your chemistry, genuine personalities, and charisma are next level. I like watching people react who legit enjoy or at least appreciate music in all forms and it shows y'all do. I hope to continue supporting you in the future. Initially saw your Dethklok videos and liked that you had real opinions on them, not just blindly liking or disliking in giving music considered different a chance.
The sister on the right (Astrid I believe) reminds of the girls in Robert Palmer’s Addicted To Love. 😁 The studio version (the long version) of Beginnings evolves into a real Latin feel as it winds down.
If this is the first time hearing this song, then someone has led you astray. Live versions should rarely be listened to first. You should really make it a habit to start with a good studio cut. Reasons being, is that when the band plays live, they often stray from the original, often improvising, so if you haven't heard the original, it's unlikely you'll be able to appreciate or understand what the band is doing.
The next song they do in this concert topped the charts and the record company cut it up into two short songs for AM radio that only played songs about 3 minutes long. The song is called ("Ballet For A Girl In Buchannon" Tanglewood 1970, Be sure it is 14 minutes) or you are getting only part of the song. Don't do the cut outs "Make Me Smile" and "Colour My World". Do the whole 14 minute Ballet.
Can you girls react to a band that everyone at the time thought were the next BEATLES,the song is I ONLY WANNA BE WITH YOU BY THE BAY CITY ROLLERS,official music video, thank you.
I think. U are ready for some 70zs priest. This called getting lost in the Sauce songs. Plus I seen so many reaction channels. I figure if anybody deserves my hard earned money it's u guys. I am part French and Dutch and I like how you critique songs last 3 songs I tried you reacted to got blocked. It happens if you do see my pics from any era will be 70s and 80s classic rock or Thrash. So next paypal request will be for a full Album of Pink Floyd. And I am thinking the reaction needs to be a lot longer or you break the songs Down because some of their song are very very long. If you name the price I will pay more than the minimum. Internet isn't cheap
They still sound great!!!!
Best yet.
One of the greatest groups of all time. A time from when we had real music. Thx
so true!
hence they never paused the song👍
Seeing them for the first time Saturday at Fantasy Springs Casino, Indio CA....Can't wait!
Might be my favorite Chicago song. Which is saying a lot.
70s Chicago era is the best !!!!
early 70"s more specifically.
@@samuelmregister yes!
If you've ever been with 'the one' this signifies the feeling when you thought, you would have never found' the one'
Lamm's voice is perfect
Ain’t that the truth, and even today he doesn’t sound too bad .

Ah, Terry Kath era Chicago. Love it! Muy majo como siempre, mis chicas! Enhorabuena y por cierto, gracias por aquella noche. 😇✌️❤️
You'd probably like "Color My World" by Chicago, it's a ballad and very nice. Chicago had many many hits and were popular for a good while.
CHICAGO, "BEGINNINGS"... THE WHOLE TANGLEWOOD CONCERT IS WORTH YOUR TIME..
Dats of extremely talented musicians and composers. The brass section was the best of the 60s and 70s. So lucky we have this live recording
I love the way the brass section goes nuts on this live version!
Whoop Whoop! This is my favorite ❤️ band of all time!!!
ELP - "Still You Turn Me On" - "Father Christmas" - "Karn Evil Nine" Studio versions - "Knife Edge" live
HAPPY YOU LIKED IT!! 👍 ☺️ 😊 💓 🤗 💖 👍 MY FAVORITE ALLTIME BAND!! YEAH CHICAGO!!
Early Chicago with Terry Kath was fire.

When I heard this the first time I thought they were saying, " Let the fun begin."
She rated it a 3.75............................. Oopsie!

It's a brilliant beautiful classic rock song

Another great choice would be Angry Eyes by Loggins and Messina, especially the live version off of Loggins and Messina Live.
Angry Eyes. Easily one of my favorite tracks ever.
And if you leave me now..by chikago..is a good one.

"You like to think that you're immune to the stuff, oh yeah... closer to the truth to say you can't get enough..." 😊
There is a longer version of this song
Very good reaction!!

Great reaction beautiful ladies. Hopefully real music will come back and spread in the AI world.
I always had a "man crush" on Robert Lamm---he has one of the SEXIEST voices in rock music--and the looks to go with it!

was there a better place in the world to be on that july night in 1970?
Chikago is a good band.
You frist have to list in to the studios version first to get the real feel of the song. Then list to a live version.
