Hi Joseph. I have a question. I have bought an Elgato 4K X capture card for recording gaming videos. Would I be able to use that for my Firestick or does it specifically have to be a USB capture card?
Hey! As far as I know and what I've researched, you can use the Elgato 4K X capture card for recording your FireStick. It doesn’t specifically have to be a USB capture card.
Have you made sure that your Fire TV Stick is powered? Once you have that sorted, open OBS studio, click on the "+" sign under Sources, and then select Video Capture Device. Click OK to create a new Video Capture Device and then select USB Video from the option. Wait a few seconds till your Fire TV Stick appears. Let me know if you still face errors.
so update i have a late 2015 27" imac with 5K retina works good, i bluetooth the sound to firestick for sound. only issue is NOT full screen, its OVER zoomed. went into display of FS and shrunk it down, so it "fits" rather it be smaller than TOO large cant navigate when image is too large for the screen, but it works

You will have to connect your earbuds or bluetooth headphones to your FireStick (not your mac), only then you can hear the voice
