lol, I just call them that you are better with the names. My grandma called them that and I just never looked up the name cause water turkey just fits! Its a anhinga is a year-round resident of Florida according to google and they are also known as snake birds.
now that I look at the bank it look like I am fishing in the alligator bed. They like that grass and it acts like a shelf they lay underwater and use it as an ambush I wouldn't be surprised if one or two was hanging right there.
