Agreed. Rifles and optics you can see the difference purely in performance alone. Anyone who buys a 7 or 8k pistol than argues on the internet is just dick measuring or trying to justify their purchase.
Enjoyed your overview Ben and agree with your final conclusions. I actually own an XC, Sand Viper, NH Sandhawk, Atlas Apollo, and an Atlas Erebus. Agreed completely that the grip and trigger shoe are great out of the box on the Sand Viper. The grip safety is also probably the best fit of all of my 2011’s - it disengages no matter how shitty my grip may be on the draw. Not a fan of the TTI optics cut though - I tried mounting an RMR HD and the damn cut is slightly too deep to where the front face of the optic hits the top of the slide and the optic base can’t sit flush in the cut. So instead I’m running a type 2 RM09 - no biggie, but I was hoping to use this gun to get some reps on the new HD’s. From a shooting standpoint - it feels very similar to the XC at almost double the price. Everyone online always trashes staccato and claims the XC is overpriced - but for 4.2k + a 300 dollar grip from extremeshooters + a metal atlas trigger shoe + 10lb recoil spring the XC is 95% as good as the Erebus (which to date is the best 2011 I’ve shot) and thousands cheaper than all the others I own. The sand viper on the other hand is kinda just setting money on fire. It’s a good shooter and a cool collector’s piece, but I’m not convinced it does anything better than the other guns I own.
