If its really really stuck, don't give up this does work. Plenty of wD40 just leave it for 20 mins or so , trust me iv got really weak wrists and it did come of. I was about to put it outside , most people in this area take stuff if u leave it on your wall at the front they no u ate saying take it , maybe someone else could of used it. I fixed it so I'm really happy. Thank you. ❤️
Thanks dude! Mine looks exactly like yours where the plastic gear broke off. The towel idea was awesome. I was trying to use a flat head screwdriver to hold the fan from rotating while using the plier and I was having no luck. Thanks again!
Thank you for this video! Your tip of grabbing the whole fan with a rough cloth saved the day! I had tried to get the base gear nut off only with a screwdriver and it wasn't working. But once I grabbed the whole fan gently with the cloth, I was able to get enough mechanical advantage to turn the gear nut off with my vise grip. None of the other videos had this method, and this was the easiest solution! I did use some WD40 on the gear, but holding the screw just wasn't enough. This was brilliant!
Omg... thanks so much .The same thing happened to mine and I was trying to get a replacement but for some reason God sent me to your site....I WILL DO THIS NOW..this you so much...I pray God continue to bless you
Nice, clear, concise... although this is mentioned in passing it might be worth emphasising that it is LEFT HAND THREAD ie. to remove the old bush clockwise, to instal the new one counterclockwise
I tried this but the fan kept slipping on its shaft when I tried to turn the bushing. I stuck a screw driver into the head of the screw that kept the fan on and pushed hard into it while turning the bushing, and that finally got it. Still a helpful guide that pointed me in the right direction, I'm just commenting here in case anyone else runs into the same issue with the fan slipping.
2 Years later and it helped me fix my Mo Health Blender (essentially a clone of a Magic Bullet), exact same process but rather than holding the fan at the base I held a flat head against the bolt. Thanks!
Good info. It's also a LH thread and had thread lock on it. If you have one like mine, it also turns inside before it loosens the gear thread so into the bin it goes and pick up a cheap used one on ebay instead.
Great video, I pulled the fan at the bottom out and used gland pliers top and bottom (after a skoosh of WD40 on the broken gear and left for 10 minutes), thank you.
I had to use a flat screwdriver to hold the bottom fan in place instead of a towel. The towel stopped the fan from rotating but didn't stop the motor under the fan from turning with the pliers/vice grip. A screwdriver kept the whole mechanism from spinning so I could loosen the brass nut.
I had to use large vice grips to remove after trying many other pliers and WD40.I got the rubber grommets and base gear for $3 on TEMU free shipping saved me $100 for a new Magicbullet 900 series.😄
The fan continued to rotate on mine until I held the metal screw that keeps it in place steady with a screwdriver, instead of a towel over the whole plastic fan. Back in business!
Hi Collin, you need to unscrew the gear clockwise (to the right) while you hold the fan with the shaft. If it's to tight, add some WD40. Also at the bottom you have a screw that connects the fan to the shaft - maybe you can try tightening that up as well.
@@techb0b Yes! Thank you!!!!. I was just about to take the replacement parts back and then decided to use some hair grease of all things...LOL. It loosened up, finally.
Mine was stuck too tight so i pushed the screwdriver a little through the moving motor section (metal, not plastic) and that got it off. All working fine.
@@haroldgreen4416 Hi Harold. Were you able to solve the problem with the WD40? I have not tried it yet but I have been unable to unscrew the brass ring (i.e. what is left of the base gear). I am feeling very helpless so your response will help!
@@opposinn I was able to remove the gear with a pair of mini vise grip pliers. It was on so tight that I was afraid it would be damaged. Finally it broke loose.
@@haroldgreen4416 thanks Harold. I didn’t get those pliers but your message gave me faith that this screw can be removed because I gave my best efforts and used wd40 but nothing happened but with more efforts it finally came off! So to others, this is doable but very close to impossible.
Holding the fan in the base with a towel did not work for me. The plastic fan came off the shaft and the nut did not loosen. However, there is a screwdriver slot in the shaft. Holding the shaft stationary with a screwdriver did the trick.
I cannot understand, mine will not come off, this is so frustrating, I am turning clockwise and everything. I have tried countless time with so much strength to try and budge the cog, its starting to flake the brass off the cog teeth, im ready to give up. I don't get how everyone's is so simple mine is impossible to budge, please any tips!!!!
@@matthewdexter1136 try adding even more WD40 on and leave for 20 minutes. If it's not working with the towel, try with a flat screwdriver in the bottom shaft.

Will the fan not break if you grab it too tightly?

Towel trick worked...thx
I wouldn't do that last tightening part. The Nutribullet will tighten it all the way down on first usage. I love this short explanation though.
Ok, I gripped the bottom fan with the towel but the rest of the shaft still rotated with the unscrewing of the gear. Anyone else having this problem?
Hi Collin, you need to unscrew the gear clockwise (to the right) while you hold the fan with the shaft. If it's to tight, add some WD40.
Also at the bottom you have a screw that connects the fan to the shaft - maybe you can try tightening that up as well.

How did you get the old gear off????
Thank you!!!
Use a pair of vice grips instead of a long nose pliers as they tend to slip when unscrewing the base gear.
But it doesn’t show how to take off the old gear?
What is left of the base gear is stubborn to remove, should it be heated and then try again?
If it's stubborn, you can try with a few drops of good old WD40 :)
