  • Clipping your chickens wings might be the best way to stop them from flying / escaping over the run you have them in. In this video we clip our escaping chickens wings and it helps stop her from jumping over our fencing and getting out.

    Glad it works for you. Looks like you have a "broody" hen which is great if you are planning on raising your own chickens. Keep her in and keep her safe.

      We are glad too! She hasn’t jumped over since clipping both wings! Also glad that she is broody! We hope to hatch out our own chickens! Thanks for watching as always Nancy, we appreciate you!

    I really liked how you curved the fencing over at the top! I'm going to try this on my run. I had to cut the chicken wire "roof" off my run last spring because we got sooooo much snow last winter here in Minnesota.
    I've been trying all summer to keep the birds in and to no avail, I've failed 😂
    I'm going to try the curved fencing at the top and clip wings, hopefully this helps!

    I’m sorry so either I missed it over screaming toddlers or it wasn’t said but what’s the verdict on cutting both? Did it work to stop the jumping?

  • @reneemondragon7203
    @reneemondragon7203 2 роки тому +2

    Yes you have to do both lol

      I don’t know why I thought just one would work….no jumping over since though!! Thanks for watching Renee!

    At which point in the video do you show how to clip the wings?

      How about you watch the video

    • @59catsPeggysue

      I stand corrected. For a video entititled as it were, one would think a bit more than 5 seconds would explain clipping wings. For instance, how far up the wings to clip until hitting a danger zone, if any? It always helps to know your subject matter before making doing advice or a report. If you wanted to show off your land and kid, you did a great job! However we that sat through 12 minutes, barely learned anything other than we will never get those 12 minutes back. Touche.

      @@59catsPeggysue he did the clipping in the first short bit of the video before he started doing the tour of his yard.
