What I like about it was that while Lu Bu and Adam were skilled, they lost the moment they tried to fight the gods on the gods' terms (via power, strength, and/or status). That being said, dude humbled one of mythology's most famous god while wearing only a leaf. Respect.
Facts!
Well, it was a pretty big leaf...
@@LeoBeastmode Good for Eve, I guess.
That is in my opinion, Brunhilde Greatest oversight: To fight the gods, she brought the humans who were closest to them. As amazing as Lu Bu and Adam are, they never had to face anyone remotely close to their level. In contrast, Kojiro Sasaki and Jack the Ripper spent most of their life surrounded by people stronger than them, making them more prepared to face the most powerful beings in the universe. This is humanity's true strength, to push forward against all hods.
@@yoannbelleville7763 i mean adam wasn't meant to fight zeus. So that wasn't really a mistake
"Hatred, Vengeance, these are meaningless. Does a man need any reason to protect his own children."
The bar that won my heart and sold me on this series
Same. This line made him instantly one of my favorite characters in fiction.
“What reason does a man need to protect his family?” Adam, the goat.
Dominic Toretto approves.
He's the O.G.O.A.T.
THE GOAT
Whenever they cut to Adam hearing a crying child it broke me.
"Daddy's right here. Don't cry. I'll protect you." He stood tall to defend all of mankind, his children, up to and beyond his own death. I had to take a break after that fight. The feels were too much.
I didn't even read or watch it. I saw it randomly in a clip the other day and, with no build up, with no knowledge of this series beyond the premise, the doesnt need a reason line had my eyes welling up. Amazingly powerful scene that only requires minimum context to hit.
Dog I cried after that part when and even harder when he lost. Never genuinely wanted a character to win so bad
One thing that wasn't mentioned was the reasons for fighting. Adam loves all his children and put his life on the line to protect them.
Zeus just wanted to have a fun fight. He didn't care about Adam at the start, only the fight he'd get from him.
Adam loved his children, Zeus loved only the fight.
Both of them are fathers, but both are very different
I don't think that this is a valid point due to humanity being the ones in danger, not gods.
Thats also Vegeta vs Goku, right now, he told Goku that bringing Frieza back will be a bad idea, did the Ape listen, no.
Also as a Superman fan, i disagree, Superman also love Humanity, and he holds backs because if he lets lose, he might kill his enemy, and killing enemy isn't what he desire unless is Doomsady or Darkseid, that's why Lex still breaths, killing Lex will make him a villain and people would be afraid of him. Superman is also OP done right, most of his rogue gallery won't breath if he goes all out, also he inspired all the heroes, including Dr. Manhattan, after saving Dr.Manhattan life even though dr is 9999x stronger than Superman, because Superman is about saving not killing.
Superman is the best comic hero ever written.
Zeus truly is the original deadbeat dad
@@justanunluckyirishmaninabl5178 and Adam truly is the original father.
Something iv noticed a lot of people forget that adds more weight to it, Zeus and the relationship he had with his father, basically having the exact opposite relationship to Adam and humanity
I just think that Adam in this interpretation is such a huge badass. The line that got me was 'What father would not fight for his children?' Sent chills down my spine.
Same, probably still the best line so far.
What really got me was when Zeus was just beating down on Adam. At that point, everyone knew who the winner was.
Humanity was willing to take the loss, were willing to sacrifice a chance at thier own survival, just so that their father wouldn't have to die.
Even Adam knew he lost at that moment but he still wouldn't fall. Even through all the pain he was in and all the begging for him to surrender, the only thing he heard was a baby crying, cries of fear of what was happening.
All he could feel was the need to protect it.
So he wouldn't give up, even if he couldn't win, he'll dame well give it his 100% and nothing less. All so that his children would be happy again.
Adam was not the father that went to get milk and didn't come back, he is a father that went for milk, brought the whole cow, taught them how to milk it and then he went out in the blaze of glory defending the house from raiders
He left for milk and came back saying "Hey I'm sorry I know I said I was just getting milk but I was thinking about how you wanted a bike. C'mon sport let's teach you how to ride it."
I actually did tear up at Adam's goated line. It reminded me of my own father who did everything in his power to give me a life can enjoy. 'What reason does a father need, to protect his very own children'. May we live up to that love as the show goes on.
I love how the whole fight even though Adam was winning I felt he was the underdog every single time.
Zeus won on his knees.
Adam lost on his feet.
Very poetic, random commenter...very poetic.
Damn bro. This hit hard
Reminded me of the "I'd much rather die standing, than live kneeling"
Adam fought proudly and died standing fighting for his descendants who wouldn’t shed a tear for that even in a anime that just digs into you
Teared up when you showed his death and what the people did after, Adam vs Zeus was such an emotional fight and I loved it, thank you for this video
Only point i think you missed is that Adam being the ultimate father figure sets up his children to do what even he couldnt do which is to defeat the gods. A father's ultimate "mission" is to get his children to eventually surpass him and succeed and achieve what the father failed on or couldn't do and Adam did this flawlessly. From now on he isnt Adam but rather Adad.
10/10 dad joke at the end there, absolutely gorgeous.
My immediate reaction was to cringe at the Dad joke but that was so well put that it made a little teary eyed instead. Adam did what any loving father would do and that's risk everything and anything to keep his children safe. He went out like a true dad, the Dad of Dads if you will.
Crazy to think if Shiva had actually fought adam he would've had his ass handed to him
Shiva actually out of the rest of the roster so far, behind Zeus, has the best chance of beating Adam.
The intense heat and combustion he generates, as well as the four arms possibly being able to make up for the onslaught of Zeus' attacks would possibly catalyse Adam's overheating process
@@fudouakio4759 Adam quite literally counters him though. Mysterious Weeb did a video on this
@@fatebags fr,and to be honest even Zeus would have lost if he didn’t get lucky that his blood hit his eyes at the perfect time
@@fudouakio4759Zeus won because his punches were 0.0000000000001 fast, so Adam couldn't keep up at the end because Zeus was using a lot of those punches, pretty hard to believe Shiva would've used punches that fast to counter Adam.

@@yeahdascammer7488 After getting kicked out of Eden, right ?
Dude when Adam fought Zeus and died standing I actually got really sad
I think it’s important to remember that Adam wasn’t just beating Zeus - he was absolutely mopping the floor with him.
Zeus, the strongest god and king of the cosmos, was getting ragdolled by some barely pubescent kid with a leaf and some brass knuckles. Absolute chad.
The final scene of Adam's fight was incredible. What with how despite losing, he is still standing while Zeus is the one kneeling.
My favorite Adam moment was when he walked into the courtroom when Eve was on trial for eating the apple, and Adam rolls up into the courtroom, he's got those big ass baskets full of apples and he only takes one bite out of each and spits them out! What a legend. He did it all for Eve. That's when I was thoroughly sold.
Everything he does he does for his family. True masculine figure
I know he hasn’t been animated yet, but man I hope one day we get an overpowered done right on Beelzebub and Tesla, both deserve an episode.
What’s even crazier is that Zeus won by technicality. Zeus was beat into submission but Adam died first which meant Zeus won.
Spoilers for the marineford arc in one piece
Adam actually reminds me a lot of Whitebeard, think about it, both are: extremeley op, S tier fathers, people who fought in gigantic wars for the sake of their children, died in said war, said an epic one liner that pushed the entire narrative into a whole new level and died standing.
Didn't whitebeard send his children to die in marineford
@@kgkkoyog7684 Akainu detected

Can we get much higher
Dont forget both made us cry in the end. A mix of happy and sad tears
This is why I love Shadow (Cid Kagenou), he's a total satire of the "good because he is" trope.
SURE, He's overpowered because he worked hard to get it AND now that he's OP... what does he do??
Let's have fun and look cool. He basically does all these amazingly good things by chance or on a whim. His cringe is so OP that it broke the meter and wrapped back around to being amazing.
They say that a man with nothing to lose is a dangerous man, but a man who has a family to protect is an unstoppable man.
the scene where adam is being pummelled and all the humans are begging him to quit but all he cared about was that his kids where crying
I have never been so fucking mad about someone losing a fight. And that attests to the incredible writing for Adam.
i wish Jack the Ripper saw Adam before he died
No one is fatherless Adam is our dad.
"dose any one need a reson to protect their family" is one of the coldest line in anime dead ass rivals esganor "who decided that"
while listening to your video I came to a realization, I'm one of the biggest fans of RoR and I never really considered where Adam and Zeus connect, every fight has a connection, somewhere there's a line that resonate between them, and I never managed to grasp Adam vs Zeus, but during this video it clicked:
Adam's resolve pierces Zeus way deeper after his line. Because that's something his very own father would never do for him, the concept wasn't The Father of the Cosmos vs The Father of Humanity, the true connection between them was The Son that Killed his Unloving Father vs The Father that died for the sake of all his children. And he recognized that mid-fight after seeing that Adam was already dead. Even after death the Father of Humanity didn't budge until he made sure the God that threatened his children was on the ground and he was still standing, even if victory wasn't his.
that one line nearly made me cry whenI heard it the first time. Truly a well written op character
I honestly felt conflicted about the Shiva vs Raiden fight. They're both awesome chads that have shonen protagonists kinda backstorys where they started from nothing and rose to the top and ended up having something worth fighting for. I would have been sad no matter who lost.
Amusingly, I'm pretty sure they had Shiva win because they did not want to risk more controversy coming from India again, but I do like that even if that really were the case, they made sure it was a hard fought victory regardless, so I can respect that very much.
same but the best fight in that way is hercule vs jack i was thiking who do i have to support because one is a human serial killer and the other is a god who love human and want to save them
i completely agree, if adams line didnt make you cry you definitely have some trauma, to him there is no one above him to protect him, he has to be the protector of everyone as their all his children, even when hes getting his ass handed to him, he hears a baby crying and thinks he has to push himself harder to protect it. i doubt there will ever be anything more resolute to humans than the love of fathers to their children and that truly is a beautiful thing.
"Is there a reason a father needs to protect his children?"
Tears. Literally tears.
"I love my children enough to sacrifice my very life for them." ~ Adam, the OG Gigachad
That fight deserved better animation
the anime deserves better animation
“The older they get, the Scarier they get” Zeus who is older than the big bang: *chuckles*
boys have All Might vs All for One
men have Adam vs Zeus
No,Chads have Adam vs Zeus
Bro even All Might vs Noumu was better than All Might vs All for One lmao.
Ok thank you Nux, now I can make my self even more clear.
I cried when Adam sayd that he is just protecting his childer.
You should definitely do a vid on Kojiro Sasaki Vs Poseidon. The fight has so many great themes imo about what it means to be born perfect and never experiencing a loss (Poseidon) vs what it means to experience losses your whole life, but learning from each of those losses and becoming stronger each time (Kojiro). Also I doubt you are looking over the manga, but there are some incredible fights coming up especially the next one coming up in the anime with Buddha fighting for humanity.
He is the world's strongest loser, after all.
Adam’s defeat reminds me of something George Washington once said…
“The one thing that separates the American from all other people in the world…
Is we will *die on our feet, before we’ll live on our knees.”*
Adam died on his feet for his children- for us. Just so that we can have the confidence to fight for ourselves… even when he is gone.
When Adam died I cried bro that scene was sad then I saw him and eve with their baby then that was the breaking point i shed tears for adam
Honestly I felt my heart breaking when Adam made that speech because of how beautiful he made the dang speech.
I know I'm late, but, a concept I loved is the fact that they refer to all of Zues' punches as one-shot kills, which implies after the first hit made contact, that should've been it for him, meaning after that first hit, he was fighting with nothing more than the remaining will to protect his kids
Adam gave his children hope, but he also restored hope in humanity for Zeus. "Humanity is awesome aren't they old man" -Shiva "Indeed they are but this a competition and we can't lose."-Zeus. I think Adam standing over Zeus when he was on his knees, really got to him.
and you forgot how much of a chad adam is.
eve got accuse of eating apples and adam casually walks in the freaking court in eden with a basket of apples, he gave an apple one bite, spits it out, insults it taste and do it again.
the court was filled with heavenly beings and he does not care he chose to be banished with eve than to let eve leave all on her own.
the balls you had to have in order to pull this off is completely massive
I love that he even though he died, he still beat zeus. While he lost the match, he won the fight. It shows there is more to humanity than the gods think. It shows our love, hope, and determination stretch further than our physical capabilities.
Adam is the Father who comes back with the milk!
Another Ragnarok video about Shiva would be awesome! This is literally the only manga I’ve read because of how cool of a concept it is. I’m so happy that you’re covering their badass characters.
Adam gave people hope then Kojiro made that hope real
Sharingan?
Madara WISHES his copycat eye had half the power of THE Eyes of the Lord
I like that each fight ahows a different aspect of gods and humanitys nature.
Adam- Humanities hope
Lu Buu- Humanities furocity
Sasaki? (I dont remember) - Humanities position in the battle
Jack the Ripper- Humanities brutality
Thor- The gods nature
Zues- The gods might
Posidon- The gods position in the fight
Shiva- The Gods will
Heracules- The gods heart
Thank you so much for making videos on Records of Ragnarok. I feel like people just overlooked this anime because of certain popular peoples' shit takes over a 15 second video of it.
I am caught up with the manga. Spill the tea bruv, who were they?

Adam will solve the daddy issues your actual father left

I've binged RoR at least 5 times now and I always get chills and teared up when it gets to the scene where Adam hears a baby crying and promising he will protect them from all the bad guys TwT It gets me every single timee
Also Adam got hit with that classic plot armour and lost, but zeus still acknowledged adam by saying if it was endurance he would've won. Adam was and always will be the goat

Awesome video Nux. I'm actually watching Records of Ragnarok for the first time now, I'm right at the start of Jack the Rippers fight. It is honestly a much better show then I thought it would be. Started watching because of you previous vid, so thanks, I'd definitely like some more of these as I watch the rest
Love the show too can't wait for the second half of season 2
I forgot Adam was voiced by Jonah Scott aka fucking Legosi
I would just like to show a bit of appreciation to the scene where as Zeus is beating down on Adam, a baby begins to cry and Adam vows to protect them (9:36). Teared up a little ngl. Easily one of the best fight scenes in all of anime.
I instantly started to cry when Adam said those words.
i had to pause this video to go watch all the episodes available. that shit was amazing. thanks bro.
I got emotional out of anger for adam being plot armored to death
At first, they showed his fist at an angle, making it look like he pointing it straight to the sky, and I really thought he won. But I cried when I realized it was really his soul and body fighting on till no more.
Why does a man need a reason to protect his children? Come my sons and daughters, let’s rise once again.
Adam would make White Beard from One Piece call him the ultimate father.
When Adam said that one line, I had tears that were so close to falling, just on the edge. But I was really crying when everyone was begging him to stop fighting cause I was doing the same thing in my head. I was screaming at him to stop cause it hurt. And I really started to sob when he said he'll protect the baby cause it was crying. I definitely recommend watching RoR entirely if you want to watch a heartfelt and a bit of a heart-wrenching anime with epic battles. 10/10
The last time I cried over an anime was vegeta's final atonement..but the Adam fight just hit me different..I sobbed at the end of the fight..I wasn't expecting this fight to be so emotionally intense at all.
When he heard a baby cry in the middle of the fight made me tear up no lie
"What father would not fight for his children?" I mean my guy Zeus is right in front of you
Man came straight home after that milk was bought.
I cried when Adam dies and got angry so much that Zeus is truly a piece of (....). not just in the mythology but in the anime too.
"I'm not saying I'll think of you as less of a person. I'll just PITY you a lot more."
Nuxanor recognizing the HUMAN of anime. Fucking love it.
The craziest thing about Adam is that he actually boxed a god. The divine weapons every human is using is so that they could actually injure these gods, but Adam was smacking Zeus with left hands that left him bloody. I really hate the Volund girl and author for only giving him 1 knuckle duster
I got chills... I felt the love deep in my bones when Adam said he didnt need a reason to fight for his children. That's never happened in any movie or tv show I've ever watched. ✨ChilLs✨
Loved these videos! I knew I wasn't the only one who shed man tears for Adam's last stand 🔥 The goat
And I thought only Gigguk got this good at making speeches when it comes to anime, good video Nux
That 11:50 onwards made a grown man cry, I love you papa
Can't say I wholeheartedly agree with the "good guy characters being good guys because being a good guy is good are badly written" take. More often than not, yes, they are badly written. But there are plenty of characters like that that are amazing. Mob from Mob Psycho 100. Dr. Tenma from Monster. Luffy kinda exhibits this. His character is all about freedom and just doing what he wants and what he wants to do is help people when he can.
crazy how you compared Adam's introduction to a wwe entrance when Zeus's is litterly based off one, down to the bow to the violinist and the dancing to his own music, and the pose of him falling down onto his back and legs, its so clear of a reference to Shinsuke Nakamura
What can I say? Even though it was a loss for humanity, he was able to restore a spark for them... It's true vengeance and hatred are either a man/woman gets their drive to make something work, or a fuel to start the fire. But for Adam, he didn't have any of that for the fight, Adam has and always been standing for the sake of his children.
Man what a father.....
I'd argue the eyes of god are straight up better than sharingan. You can copy ANY gods abilities.
Reading this for the first time I didn't notice how much it impacted me until I realized I was crying. Rare for something to get me like this did.
I was editing videos for 7 months and returned to this channel to see CHAOS.
0:00 Cut to me breaking down crying when news of Takahashi's death broke out
your forgetting about whitebeard a goated dad who didnt went to get milk
Completely agree. One of my favorite fights, and yes, I teared up lol. Now, I don't know if this was intentional or not, but Adam looks a lot like Poseidon. Being that Poseidon is Zeus's older brother and was more fear, it would make sense that Adam was made in his image specifically.
Zeus stepped in because he knew literally any other god would have been totally annihilated
When I discovered this show, I came for Adam but I stayed for Brunhilde.
I just now realized. The edits of the fight in this video look smoother than the actual anime itself. XD
A video about our dad finally
No cap, no generic comment for the algorythm. Banger video. Absolutely amazing, you have a great take on Adam and the respect he deserve. This is educational and entertaining, but more importantly this video speaks to your baser instincts, the desire to protect one's own children, and the beauty that lies within. This isn't just another overpowered done right, this is a glimpse into modern philosophy. Great video Nux, thanks! I think everyone on this platform should see this video
Bruh, Adam’s death FUCKED me up when I saw that. Especially when even after he died (I believe when he had grabbed Zeus’s hair or something of the sort?), he still kept fighting until the last punch, that Zeus even commentated him for! Giving his speech about protecting his children, and even hearing the crying of his son in the distance in his last moments.
Goddamn that hurt my fucking heart…
Remember to live a life that would make Adam proud.
Seriously the moment Adam says “ to protect his very own children” I will watch that one line over and over and over again that’s masculinity incarnate
