I feel like one of two things will happen. Either the majority of passengers won't get off ship, or they will end up buying most of the adult only area and Beach Club passes.
As a 70 year old adult I love CoCoCay. Just go down to South Beach and The Cove which are free and you can find a nice peaceful beach without all the noise. There are restrooms and a Snack Shack nearby so it makes a great day to relax.
I think it will be comical for Celebrity which is "mostly" an adult cruise line to show up at CocoCay with kids running everywhere. It should be interesting for sure. I thought Celebrity had it's own private island anyhow. Royal is becoming very greedy, that's for sure.
Our favorite cruise line by far is Celebrity because of the superior customer care! We generally like cruises at least 7 days or more. That being said we find ourselves today on the Celebrity Silhouette a 4 day long weekend cruise because that's all the time we had available! (We are in our mid sixties)
I think capacity is why Royal Caribbean group is making this move. They can still maximize the use of CoCo Cay filling it to capacity, but by bringing in Celebrity ships, they know Celebrity's guests will want to use different amenities than Royal's guests. Demand for certain amenities such as the waterpark will be lower than the same number guests all from Royal. Hopefully, the demand for each amenity won't greatly overwhelm capacity.
I have never been on a Celebrity Cruises as of yet but can't wait to try my first one with them. I am very excited about going to CocoCay with Celebrity.
I like the opportunity to take a shorter Celebrity Reflection trip - will be taking my daughter for a mother/daughter trip this November on a 5 day. Have sailed Reflection on the longer 11 trip and LOVED it!
Hi Justin! It was great to meet you on board the Celebrity Reflection. Celebrity is definitely reaching out for a new demographic - as a retiree, I won't be going on 3, 4 or 5 day cruises. I rarely get off the ship when going to a cruise line's private island.
The stop in Coco and the lack of kiddy pools is the top reason I booked my upcoming cruise on X. It will be my first time trying the line and my first time at Coco. We did book Hideaway, I think we are the first sailing there actually, in April. Can’t wait!
It's a great price but us west coasters would have to pay extra to fly to and from Florida...plus hotel ...it can become expensive. I wish celebrity would have a ship that docks in long Beach and sails up the coast and to Mexico...
Celebrity cruises out of port Everglades which is about a 30-40 minute drive from me. It’s also a cheaper option from RCCL so I will be on the reflection often for those quick weekend getaways
I just came off of the Celebrity Reflections a couple of weeks ago (June 2024) We LOVED it! My wife and I both agree we would do a weekend 3 day cruise just to THAT destination alone! Loved it! The one day that we were there, we spent in the Adult only area.. We sailed May 30th - June 1st. We lucked out I guess. The adult area was well populated, but not overpopulated. We got their relatively early...around 11am. All the private "Cabanas" were occupied, but we had our choice of beach chairs even at the front row. I am not a person that generally get's into pools on a cruise ship, but I got into the infinity type pool at the pool bar and thoroughly enjoyed myself..
I think Carnival has the same kind of idea with Celebration Key. They currently have Princess cay and half moon cay. Being used by all their lines. I wonder if they are going to revamp Princess cay to be more couples focused for Princess only. Or will the drop them for one big place once Celebration Key is open. Kinda like eden east and west from couples retreat movie, if you know the reference. Interesting either way.
Jay you have been an inspiration to me and I have just started my training for travel agent. Thank you! Will always follow you and look at you as my mentor
@@mfelicio1 Celebrity is a premium brand that is owned by Royal Carribean. Smaller ships and more elaborate, more adults yet also familiies cruise on Celebrity. Google their website to see their ships.
@@mfelicio1 from what I'm reading in the comments it seems like Celebrity is more geared towards adults than families with kids 🤔. Virgin Voyages is also adult oriented with no kids allowed at all. Royal seems like it's in-between. My mom prefers Royal as do I even though I've only been on two cruises with them years ago.
Yeah, I think it’s a bad idea. I don’t sail with Celebrity for family fun. I like adult time. But maybe with the adults only area of PD, it may fulfill that need.
I agree and have posted the same. RC is forcing its customers to pay extra for the adult only portion of the island. That's the point of them dragging celebrity cruisers there. They pay for one less port since they own the island, AND they can gouge you for more cash to pay for the adult experience you ALREADY paid for. Oceania cruises look better and better all the time. If you haven't sailed with THEM, look them up. You might be pleasantly surprised by the experience.
I think it’s a combination of a lot of things. I can see alot more “private islands” being built in the future

I am looking forward to going to the Adults Only section on Perfect Day at Co Co Cay, I think It is a great idea, I have done this before on Oasis of the seas but I was at the VIP club section, looking forward to visiting soon on my Celebrity Cruise Beyond
Hey J. Hideaway beach can house 2000 ppl? Wow. Didn’t realize it was that big. Plus all the other areas. I was quite content at Oasis Lagoon pool would like to experience Hideaway. We shall see how it plays out. Just hoping no areas get overcrowded.
I would love to try Celebrity. Do they ever have sailings where they waive the solo supplement or have solo deals? Royal never does so maybe this is the best way for us solos to try Coco Cay 🤷🏼♀️ Royal has made it clear they do not want solos to sail with them as they have priced us out.
I’ve sailed celebrity as a solo many times. Sometimes they do have a deal but celebrity has been charging solo travelers MORE than double (when not in a solo cabin- very few if any depending on the ship). Once they got called out on it they say they will stop the practice. However I recommend getting the quote for two and then as a single to compare if they are still ripping us off. Good luck
You are a very naive and closed minded cruiser. This almost 50 year with nearly 40 cruises under her belt thinks coco Cay is amazing. Try having fun. You may like it.
Just booked a 4 day/3 night Bimini/Perfect Day (didn't realize the Coco Cay visit was a new thing for Celebrity). Won't be purchasing the adult only pass, as we are sailing the weekend after Labor Day and don't expect many kids on board. Feel like we can find a quiet enough area in the regular section. Never sailed Celebrity, looking forward to it.
I travel on both and I feel like they are trying to bring Celebrity closer to Royal. There are fewer and fewer differences each year. I wouldn't be surprised if they pulled them all under one brand at the rate they're going. Oh and if you see this, can you, if you haven't already, make a video that outlines the differences between booking with my Celebrity travel planner and yourself.
Thanks, J..... I'm like you, this should be very interesting. A lot of adults without kids, who travel with Royal Caribbean, seemed to love Coco Cay. So, the ones on Celebrity should not have a problem. But, you are going to have those who do not want to be around kids, and will refuse to pay that extra money, just to be on the adults only side. But, then again, they should know what the itinerary is before they book the cruise.
With all the trouble going on in Nassau it seems like the timing of any and all Royal Caribbean Group ships couldn't be better in terms of visiting Perfect Day at Coco Cay
Are there any recommendations for motion sickness ? I have work on my first cruise ship soon and I want to make sure I’m prepared. I’d hate to be sick 😢
I don't care for the short cruises, too much hassle for a couple days. I also try to avoid cruises that go to the private island. Successful so far at doing that.
Paying EXTRA for the "adult only" experience you were already expecting by booking a boat with no fucking water slides and bullshit to begin with? Youre a clown.
Bad idea. I didn't spend extra for premium, on a ship with no water slides or water parks, and a minimum of kids, just so I could be dragged to RC's water park and be surrounded by the same type of screaming kids I paid to avoid..... All so RC could save money on one less port and FORCE people like me to fork over extra cash to get the adult only experience while on the island. Blatant cash grab. Once my 2 booked celebrity cruises are finished, I'm done with this company. Newer mgmt is shit.
Please no more cococay. Every other cruise goes there. I've been to cococay enough times. I prefer the experiences I haven't done before like going to different islands and doing different excursions etc. You are rather limited to what you can do on Royal Carribeans island.
First its not going to full up at Hideaway because its extra, and if it rains you don't get your money back and there is lots of room on the island to get away from the kids, go to Far Beach
For an ADDITIONAL fee.....That was already included in a celebrity cruise ticket....You know them right? The cruise line with NO WATERSLIDES? You types crack me up. You eat whatever the shitty mgmt on the cruise lines serve up to you, no complaints. Raise your GD standards fool.
What is the things that I’ve noticed? Is that when you become a travel agent. All of a sudden your English in watching what you say becomes the main source of what you concentrate on. Because you’re trying to avoid incrimination against yourself from negativity against what you’re trying to do. so you don’t want to mention that these cruises 3 to 5 days are just nothing more than cash grabs for the cruise lines. They don’t have to go too far which means they can save on fuel. And the turnaround is really not a heavy price to pay. I also know that in describing celebrity cruise line Being one of the most expensive cruise lines, you really can’t mention that, or at least disguise it in a more luxurious way of describing it. Although it’s the same ship, going to the same places, offering the same things as other cruise lines for some reason, they have the authority or audacity just to raise the price, but offer you the same thing. And that’s your foundation of your selling point to book cruises. It amazes me how you have to skip around the obvious negativity of what’s behind-the-scenes.
