    God, I hate UA-cam !!! On several occasions YT has unsubscribed me from some of their channels. Same with yours! So subd again
    A long time ago, we talked about O&M in Germany and the state/problems the orchids came with. Over the last months I had to order from them because a few orchid lovers I co-order for, wanted some of their orchids. So, since summer I placed 2 very large orchids with them and they seem to be on top of the problems they had, bug and rot wise. All ordered orchids came in in perfect condition, no problems at all! I ordered some for myself, including rupicolous Laelias and they are thriving and growing perfectly. No problems what so ever. I know you wanted to order from them because of these, so I would say go ahead, it's worth it now. I'm putting in one more order next week.

      HI Marc 😍💐 you can trust and believe that I have my grievances with UA-cam as well. Whenever I go into studio now, I am paranoid about what I may find next with their shenanigans. Constantly deducting the revenue... its scary af for me atm!! Thank you for the info on O&M! Great to know for future reference and also it is nice to know that they may have taken criticism on board and have made the right changes. That is encouraging to hear 👍🏼 really appreciate you dropping that information into the comments, and thank you so much for watching 🫶🏼 enjoy your newcomers!! 🥳

    I learned the hard way that in orchid growing, there is a direct relationship with the size of the orchid and the size of the pot.Optimum pot size is a mystery to me.Yes Nina, there is no room for complacency for an orchid hobbyist.We have to be always proactive while dealing with our orchids.Happy Rupicolous Laelias and happy gardening Nina.

      🌸🥷🏼Director Jose San 😍🙌🏼🤸🏼‍♀️🥰💐 there is indeed a relationship with the size of the orchid and the size of the pot... depending on the climate 😉 and never mind the subject of the media in said sized pot with said climate 😉 and on and on it goes with this hobby, unless we have our orchids in the trees 😉 complacency is the only golden rule that seems to show bad results across the board, where no other golden rule exists in this hobby 😆 thank you so very much for your time and support, amigo mio! I hope that you had a wonderful day and wish you the same for FridYAY! 🫶🏼❤️🌸

    Years ago I had a Laelia Gold Digger, it wasn't a very big plant but it was a very reliable bloomer. Really enjoyed it to as it even bloomed during the winter. I haven't been able to find another one like it, but that was a little over 35 yrs ago, but "Wewd" love to find another one.

      Hi Shirley 😍💐 I hope that one day, you do! They are great stocking fillers, and a voucher can be used in the spring time 😉 when they are weak though, and just showing signs of gaining momentum, I have to say... I get so apprehensive about doing anything with them. Still, having had such high humidity this summer, it taught me a lesson, my pots are not right for such high humidity and bit by bit, there will be changes so that I am not freaking out in case we have another summer like this. I have another little laelia that needs addressing, but am waiting for roots. Was going to show her in this video, however, did not want to make it so long. Hope she grows roots before more bulbs decline 🤞🏼 thank you so much for watching, Shirley!! Have yourself the most beautiful of days 🫶🏼❤️🌸

    All I can say Nina is AWESOME!!! It's about time all your efforts are truly paying off, And I know you baby them to death, or growth as it seems. 😂 Next stop is Bloom Time 🤞🏻🤞🏻 We're are back to 100° again today. Mother Nature just can't make uo her mind this year...and I know you Love the warmth. 🌞 Now you'll have your work cut out for you separating all the media and cleaning it for the next go around. 😅 I have been enjoying my motes Pixie Dusts this season as they have been blooming like crazy, such a fun mini vanda!!! And yes my twinkle has just pushed out 5 more spikes!!! Eeh Gads does it ever STOP!!! 🤪 It's been on a steady blooming all year now so far as you know. And it smells just like it's name, Red Raspberry....👃🏻😋 Hope you're feeling a bit better and got a good rest in. I shall catch ya later....

      🦋🦇😍 🫶🏼 heeeeyy!! The former is probably true for all the ones I have lost, the really iddy biddy ones! Tried too hard... and one got thrips 🥲 I am heading down with the temps, and now there appears to be a little rain, but it came and went just as fast, like... naaahh! Thunder over the Med though 🤷🏼‍♀️ tomorrow I am separating all the media out. I had an out of body experience all day today, so no filming, just worked on a few shorts while I could sit. As I can stand, oh goody... all the media will be sorted mañana! I have a spike on my Twinkle 😆😆 just one! Not sure if I should be happy or think...no way Jose! The day I can boast of a Twinkle like your's will be maybe 2030? Wow, another 5 spikes, that is just insane!! Not feeling better. I tried to film today, but was breathing too heavily into the mic. The past week, that was not happening, I could focus on the task while talking at the same time. But, the moment I stopped recording I would bend over to recover. Today, impossible. I was sounding like some attempt at Orchid ASMR commentary and that was not even pleasant 😆 off to have some hot chocolate and off to the boudoir with my derriere... there is always mañana 🤞🏼 thank you so much for your kind comment and for watching, Wingman! I hope YOUR day is fabulous not including your continuous bloomers which make any day fabulous, but in general, I hope your day is going great! 🫶🏼❤️🌸

      FFF 😍🙌🏼🤸🏼‍♀️🥰💐 good afternoon, meine liebe Freundin! Oh the roots mean so much!! I was glad to see what I believe to now be another kautskyana to have that root system because, the one that was gifted to me was not a shy root grower, and seeing what was in the pot with my OG, was another confirmation 👍🏼 methinks we will be ok with that one! Rupestris however, ... yikes! That one is quite something. But, here we are 5 years later and these roots are the first that I can see that ever showed some substance and potential. 🤞🏼 I had a big bag of lava rock at the beginning of the season and I thought, what on earth am I going to do with the stuff I do not need! I am now thinking... I may need another bag 🙄😆 I have processed the entire bag I bought in Spring and only have a small container of large lava rock left while I still have some laelias that need to have their seramis removed. Yikes! Less sore? Not really!! I have to take all my phals out for the coming days because it is supposed to be overcast. Maybe a little rain will fall but the chances of that happening are very slim to none! I feel messy because I don't have a plan for today seeing as I am not sure what I can accomplish because of the left side malfunction! Meh! Thank you so much for watching, amiga mia! Hoping that you are already off to a wonderful day and wish that it will stay that way for you 🫶🏼❤️🐾❤️🌸

    Thanks for this video. Your second orchid with one root gives me hope for my mini phal. She's 19 weeks in my care now with no new roots. I trimmed another root tip off as it was green but shriveled. But the shriveling was spreading, so it had to go.
    But I think she's finally told me what's wrong, as the bottom of her two leaves are turning purple. She had the standard no-id purple blooms but they went weeks ago.... She's too hot and too bright!? I did put her behind a curtain a few weeks ago, so no sunburn, but there's still times in the day when she gets super bright light being by the window. Daytime temps outside the window are 105f+ or 50c for another month here in sunny 🌞 Arizona 🌵. Inside, by the glass, may get up in the 40s. So I'm moving her back slowly, 2-3 inches per week. (Or should I just move her straight to my desk, which is about 3 feet away and gets no drirect sun but is 10 degrees or maybe even 20 degrees cooler?) She's in a low health state and doesn't need a shock. I'm worryed that the small amout that I'm moving her, is just compensating for the sun lowering in the sky because if the season change and not really making a real change in her environment.
    Her baby leaf has slowed, maybe 1mm of growth this week, up to 3.2cm. Very dark green, but plump and alert. Que te cuidas bien, mi Amiga! 💕🌞🌵😷

      😍 Hi Suzie Quetie 💐 thank YOU so much for watching this video. Truly appreciate your time and support. So, with your little charge... please forgive me for having to ask you again, if you already told me, I forgot. Is your phal lying on a counter and you dampen the roots on a regular basis? Or is it in some form of container that has a little water at the bottom, even if the roots are not touching? Please let me know. You are right to see what is up with the excess amount of light. It may be getting stressed by that much light without having the energy to metabolise it. Tough situation right now. Please let me know about how you have it atm. Thank you! Hope you wake up to a wonderful day 🫶🏼❤️🌸

      @@NinjaOrchids she's bare rooted and she has the spaghetti roots, not the big chunky roots. Most days she's in water with epsom salts, some days with home made calcium acetate and a few days with plain tap water. I take her out of the water a couple hours (varies) per day to get some air, but she's always silvery white when she goes back in the water.
      When out of the water, she's suspended in a duplicate vase that has a bit of water at the bottom, just out of reach. She's bone dry in a couple of hours, so back in to some water, where she stands a bit on her roots until her leaves support her about 5-10mm.
      Her 2 mature leaves are thin and wrinkled for months now. She has a long stem... A good inch for the tan part with roots and another inch with green leaf sheaths. There are two nubs in the green sheaths close to the tan but they are dark brown.
      The 5 roots are at the bottom of the tan part. The upper part has nubs that failed and root scars from roots that died. There are only the two spike scars that I cut off about 10 weeks ago, so I think she's young.
      For the last 3 weeks, I've been keeping the water level up the stem past the roots almost to green sheaths, because she's been so dry. And because some of the velamen is cracked where they attach to the stem. I think she likes it because her stem is less wrinkled and some days shows some green peaking out if the tan.
      A few weeks ago I had some white on the tan part, but it pretty much stopped appearing when I started raising the water level. (Back then the level was just touching the bottom tip of the stem.) When I saw the white, I brushed it off with the toothbrush and it would be gone for a few days. I never got around to applying peroxide. The white was never below the water level, maybe 1cm above the water level.

      HI Mary 😍💐 thank YOU so much for watching and for your kind feedback, lovely lady! Some are more vigorous than others, and yes, some just sit there and do absolutely nothing for years. BUT, thank goodness they do nothing because they don't decline either, which is great. While it can be a little frustrating to see an orchid just sat there doing nothing, I am glad when that happens, because it is not declining, meaning, it is figuring out what to do next, where to grow another growth because these orchids do not come with 'eyes'. Their new growths look like a little blister on their pseudobulbs and if not identified for what it is, can easily be mistaken for a pest (ie. scale) No eye, stressed, no roots, these guys will take their sweet time to make a move! I cannot tell you how happy I am that this year I saw movement, because others did not make it, despite my best efforts. Very pleased 🙌🏼 wishing you a wonderful day, Mary 🫶🏼❤️🌸

    Ciao. Apprezzo moltissimo 2 cose che tu fai e che non entravano nel mio bagaglio di conoscenze: mettere l'acqua nel vasi prima di aggiungere lava o altro per proteggere le radici, mettere un sostegno in ferro (penso) ricoperto e allargato nel fondo per migliorare la stabilità e (penso) per non facilitare il marciume rispetto agli spiedini di legno std che ancora uso. Queste orchidee che oggi hai mostrato assomigliano molto, solo però come salute, ai miei 3 oncidium e ai miei 2 dendrobium (questi ultimi però non hanno neanche una radice). Ma io, come te, sono proprio una combattente. Spero che lo siano anche le mie piante visto che andiamo incontro all'inverno, anche perchè non saprei cos'altro fare. Buona giornata

    • @NinjaOrchids
      @NinjaOrchids  Рік тому +5

      Ciao Luciana 😍💐 woohoo!! Sono così felice che questo video ti abbia dato più idee che puoi applicare alle tue orchidee quando lavori con loro 👍🏼 usare l'acqua per aiutare i media a toccare delicatamente le radici e, nel caso della leca, a cadere negli spazi vuoti senza abrasioni, è stata una cosa che ho fatto un giorno mentre rinvasavo tante orchidee, non filmando. Nel 2020. Ho visto cosa ha fatto la leca, con quanta delicatezza è caduta nel vaso e attorno alle radici, riempiendo anche gli spazi vuoti. Scuotendo il vaso, continua a riempire gli spazi senza urtarsi e danneggiare le radici, ecc. È stato un bellissimo momento, che ho avuto il piacere di condividere poi in tutti i miei video di rinvaso successivi, dove l'orchidea aveva una sistema radicale che doveva essere protetto 👍🏼 Sì, il supporto essendo rivestito in plastica e allargato alla base, rende il sistema molto più stabile, antiruggine, dall'aspetto elegante e anche riciclabile 😃 apprezzo davvero il tuo feedback e, ancora una volta, sono molto felice di sapere che questo video è stato utile! Spero che le tue orchidee si riprendano, ma sappi che, se non lo fanno, lo faranno le prossime perché impariamo lezioni quando le orchidee falliscono. Ho perso molte orchidee quest'estate, a causa dell'umidità elevata che normalmente non ho, e beh... non pensavo che ci fosse un problema finché non era troppo tardi. 🥲 ora, grazie a questa esperienza, sto facendo molti passi per rendere i miei vasi più controllabili e spero che non muoiano più orchidee a causa delle radici e delle basi delle orchidee che rimangono umide! Grazie mille per la visione e auguro anche a te una splendida giornata 🫶🏼❤️🌸

    So do you go through and separate out the lava rock from the seramis or are you just dumping it all together? I know what I would do and it isn't either of those things.😯
    I have to say that is one of the benefits of bark, you don't have to be so delicate putting fresh media around the roots, especially if you wet it first.

    • @NinjaOrchids
      @NinjaOrchids  Рік тому +5

      Don Miguel 🥰💐 hola jefe!! Yes, I separate all that out 🙄 at the end, there will be no lava rock in my seramis container or seramis in my lava rock container. Its fun when I have time, which atm, I do not, and it is annoying me!! A LOT! Agree with your take on bark, and I used to work with my bark wet back in the day. Pretty similar to what I do now when working with lava rock, not dumping all the bark in at once, but making sure that the roots at the bottom had even coverage. Meanwhile, I used to grow in clay pots, so, more often than not, I picked bark away from top to bottom, if the orchid was nicely rooted in the pot, and just filled in with fresh media after a quick rinse 😅 My pots looked nasty with patina and algae, but the orchid were happy 👍🏼 hope you have woken up to a fabulous day, Michael! HI Matt 😍💐 I am telling you... my rupestris did the same thing, and it never had a growing point for more than a year either. Until one day, something like a blister appeared at the base, it was tiny, and it came out of a bulb that had nothing! No eye, nothing! Tiny little circular blister, and I am so glad that I noticed that, documented it because that was the start of a new growth. But here we are 4 years later and it is so slow coming out of the gates. But, I think, and hope that now it is actually going to be ok. This new root system is the best that I have seen from it since 2019 🤞🏼 3 new growths is amazing!
