We are leaving on our 20th Holland cruise in a few days. We are addicted to them. We love everything- the crew, the food, the service, the cabins, the entertainment, just everything. No rides or screaming kids. Just perfect for us

We've been on over a dozen cruises, and Holland America has become our favorite. The food is always excellent, and the staff are the friendliest and most professional of any cruise line we have embarked on. I like that they focus on the quality of the shore excursions, and less on go kart tracks on board. They are head and shoulders above any other line for Alaska cruises.
Oh - and Pinnacle Grill is amazing.

The fact that Holland had a “live” band is a PLUS for me. Other cruise lines are depending too much on the DJs and their SET PLAYLIST.

We just did our first HAL cruise to Alaska~and loved it! Y"all nailed the vibe of the ship very well. The food, the service, the "classy but fun" vibe are apparent. BB Kings is the best!
OTOH, yeah~it skews a bit older. But people are there to relax and enjoy themselves; if you cruise Holland and say you were bored...either you didn't explore the ship or you likely need to stay with the Party Hearty cruise lines.

Looks like you enjoyed yourselves. We did our first HAL cruise in 2015 and are now waiting for our 4 star mariner status. We have had nothing but good times onboard. Two hard working people that the minute we board are treated like royalty. We love them, they love us. Those crew members go above and beyond every hour.

We went on our first cruise last June, on board the MS Volendam, Boston to Montreal. It was an incredible experience for us. Having an excuse to dress up isn't something we've had for almost 20 years. We had at least a few of hubby's Canadian military functions, but between being posted while I stayed back and retirement, and this cruise I had the Orange Party, two Gala Nights, and our 39th anniversary. I loved being seated, also something I haven't seen done in ages.

I cruised with them to Alaska. It was nice but it's an experience I would appreciate a lot more now. I was only 25 when I went. Alaska was amazing though and the food was great.

I agree about booking excursions thru the cruise line, just for that kind of mishap. The bartenders fixing your smokey drink were having way too much fun. -- I've been on 10 HAL cruises already with another coming up. They have always done us right.

Great stuff, I only book excursions through the cruise line If it’s more than five hours, other than that, you will save so much money if you just go with someone that’s really well respected like. Viator

Except when Covid 19 was rampant we have cruised HA over the past 13 years and have sailed over three fifths of the world some voyages over 50 days. Next month we will take our fifth Hawaii circle. We will meet our cousin and friend on board. Can't wait! We call the Koningsdam the big blue canoe".

If you booked through the cruise line They will wait but only w/in a reasonable amount of time. If it has to leave they will make sure you get to the next port of call and rejoin the ship.
Don’t want folks mad if it happens to them and the ship has left!

OMG, that restaurant looks amazing, how far in advance did you have to make reservations?
We made our reservations for pinnacle grill a few weeks before boarding. They send an email for people booked on the Have It All package to get their bookings for specialty dining and excursions well in advance. 👌
I never book excursions directly through the cruiseline but this has scared me straight
We really only book through the cruise line on excursions that we KNOW have a possibility of running late like seeing the ruins. If it is a short 2-3 hour excursion, we book local.
Just find you guys, and I must say a nice fresh view from a fellow African American cruise couple. Sometimes the point of view is what I am looking for You did a fantastic job. You are such a cute couple and Addy fashion style is fabulous makes me really consider HAL. I've been loyal to Celebrity and Norwegian. The food looked scrumptious Addy I see you're taking it a lot of sun.I hope you're not neglecting the shades and sunscreenI see your taken in a lot of sun.
