My 2 cents: There is something in the Dreadbox synth sound that speaks to me. There's that vintage analog flair (is that even a thing?), or maybe better called an organic vibe in its tones that still remains in the sweet-spot zone even when choosing extreme settings. I'm also a big fan of duo-/paraphonic modes on synths, so it doesn't come as a surprise that I was happy to see it here, too, especially in combination with sync. I am not a huge fan of the internal echo as a classic delay but found it to be useful for experimental sound voyages.
Brilliant demo, made me want to purchase one. Had the 1st and 3rd versions, and regretted selling them. This one tracks beautifully via midi or CV, and sound as good as ever! Thank you for this video.
Love the dreadbox sound, too. The Typhon blew me away... I wish I had the Typhon with 4 or 6 voices with the same UI. The UI of the Nymphes I do not like a lot - but the sound is great too. The dreabox oscillators (or is it the filter?) are somehow special and have a great tone. Nice demo again, thanks!
Hi! would this a good synth to learn on? i have the same controller and looking for a analog synth to integrate into my rock band. need for pads and fills live and at home for me just to learn and experiment for fun. need a compact solution in this price range. Can you help me decide? also love the nymphes but so ugly interface for a noob like me
If your goal is pads, Erebus might not be the best solution for you as it is only capable of playing two notes max at the same time. And even that only using its paraphony which is not really two notes. It's fun to learn with it and it has a great sweet spot which makes it fun to work it. Also it has no presets which might be a show stopper on stage. Is buying 2nd hand an option for you?
@@limbicbits it's my first one and i prefer new or just stretch the budget at 600. i don't know what to check in a used product and prefer for that reason new stuff. i can go digital if there isn't a solution for analog and compact. thanks for the reply
@@davide88rn Maybe the Behringer PRO 800 might be an affordable solution. You'd still have some budget left for a decent effect pedal. Alternatively, Roland SH-01a and S-1 are pretty good.

absolutely. I am still dreaming of a true polyphonic abyss. Maybe the Telepathy can cover that in parts. Looking forward to that one, too
