- In this video, I'll install a Boss BV900ACP head unit in my 2005 Toyota Corolla XRS to replace the factory 6 disc head unit.

Great video. I have the same model Corolla and I’m looking into installing Boss system. It looks like this video is about a year old, how has your experience been? Also is there anything else I need to do with the electrical work other than the color wiring? Like do I need to put a reducer in somewhere to not short the electricity etc. Again, appreciate you posting this.
Car is looking good. Really helps when you know what you're doing . I wish I could upgrade my 2015 Corolla S OEM radio screen or audio system. Great job!

In my 03 Corolla CE, I have a dummy blank and coin holder left of steering wheel. Do you know of an USB insert to replace these 2 inserts?
I mount my phone via windshield sticky next to A-pillar.
I don't know of a usb insert, but there could be one out there. The other way that could work would be to run a usb extension to the dummy blank but depending on how clean you want it to look you might need to cut a slot in the blank for the usb to slip into
@@WillChang Right now, I have USB from stereo coming out of where the blank is. It looks kinda low-class, even though it does the job. 🤪
Was connecting the wires as simple as interlacing the strands together and covering the new connection with the red/pink sheath?

Yep, just need to connect the colors together. There's a few ways to do it, like how I did it with crimps, twisting the wires together and using heat shrink/electrical tape to cover the bare metal, or soldering the wires together (and using heat shrink/electrical tape over the soldered part.) I'm looking to install a pioneer head unit in my 2006 Corolla but I'm not sure where to connect the parking brake wire to exactly, could you explain a bit?
Will, can you explain how you connect the "red" wire to the park brake? You did not really show how and where (which connector) to connect. Thanks!
Just ground that wire so you can play DVD , that overrides parking brake
Could have cut out the bottom of cig lighter plug and slid the car play usb in the cig lighter plug with the bottom out of the plug. Just an idea
where did you learn how to work on cars?
Taught myself everything through internet tips and just going into the garage and doing small jobs on the car and working my way up to more complicated stuff

The wiring isn't too bad, it's pretty much just connecting the colors together. I believe Crutchfield does have the option of wiring them for you though for a small fee, can't quite remember how much though

Thanks for the support! It's a crimp splice I'm using, but it's not the only way to connect them. The preferred method is to twist them together and solder them, it'll reduce the chance of interference in your audio system

Yep! All the wires say what they're for as well with either tags attached to them or writing on the wire itself
How is it running? Ever skip or shut off randomly? Does the Bluetooth ever disconnect?
All good so far! I've had no issues with Bluetooth or Apple Carplay, and the remote that came with it is still going strong as well
Is connecting the wire to the parking brake required?
Yes if you want to play any video media it’s like that on most system’s, don’t know of any that don’t but maybe with less expensive Chinese stuff might not be an issue….
which tool did you use to unscrew the radio the 4 bolts?
I used a 10mm socket on a 4in extension. The extension was just to make it easier to reach the bolts but the 10mm socket is required
How’d you get that LE on your grille in front of the car?
Took it off my parent’s 2014 Sienna and glued it onto the grille with superglue
Will you install a backup cam on it?
I may in the future, not sure at the moment

No problems at all, works just as well today as it did when I installed it a few months ago!
