Thanks for the memories. Lived in West Hartford about 2 miles or so east of the center on South Quaker Ln from an infant until 4 yo. We moved to Bloomfield shortly after my brother was born in 1967. When you first started walking, the Chase Bank and maybe the next restaurant used to be the South Sea's Polynesian restaurant. Decorated with palm trees and a big fountain/waterfall in the middle of the restaurant. We would go there about once every month or so. Was a big treat for us. My parents would order the same exact thing every time we went. Pu Pu platter for app. Dad would order Chicken Chow Mein and my Mom Shrimp with lobster sauce. My brother and I would get a little bit of both. Finished with small metal bowls of vanilla or chocolate ice cream and pineapple chunks. Good times. Everything changed there. The Ace hardware was a hardware store there but maybe a different name. The toy store I remember and possibly the pharmacy.
Great video… Blue Black seems too busy for me along with the parking woes that they use to have. Hopefully you don’t get a strike for that music in the background

I really enjoyed this. As a kid in the 50’s I used to bike around the center and all of those streets. Amazing change!
