    Great video coach!
    Can you make a video especially about strength training for greco-roman wrestling?
    Would be very helpful and intresting!

      For greco you need to be explosive and have strong legs to throw and pick up people from par terre position. And you need good grip and very good arm endurance. We used to do 5min with bands doing pummelling with bands, snapdown and if you get good increase bandweight or time. Arm conditioning is very important in greco

    • @GarageStrength
      @GarageStrength  3 роки тому +1

      We will do more videos on greco in the future, but the energy systems will pretty much be the same 👍

      Love all of your videos brother. Could you make a video/s on strength training exercises, drills, and games for youth wrestlers (elementary age). I know wheel barrows, monkey bars and leap frogs are great and fun, but looking for more ideas to help young athletes get strong with bodyweight exercises that are fun.

    When it comes the oxidative system why not go for a sport specific training style? Like let's say you're a kickboxer,why not just do more rounds of sparing as opposed to running. Most guys in Amsterdam do it that way with the mindset "runners run ,fighters fight". Genuine question,and thanks for the videos

    • @HamzaAli-yw1qt
      @HamzaAli-yw1qt 3 роки тому +2

      Both improve cardio. Traditional cardio just does it without causing as much fatigue as sparring. Also sparring more increases injury risk as opposed to traditional cardio

    • @kenv3963
      @kenv3963 3 роки тому +1

      @@HamzaAli-yw1qt I just put sparing there to paint the picture , you can also do bag and pad work , no injury there and it simulates what you do in the ring more than running while improving the same thing just like you said

    • @HamzaAli-yw1qt
      @HamzaAli-yw1qt 3 роки тому +2

      @@kenv3963 yeah those are great options for sport specific cardio work. The video however is about strength training which implies non sport related work. So thats possibly why Dane didnt include those options. Traditional cardio still has its place though for quickly improving cardio. There are probably more reasons why doing traditional cardio is a good idea but idk. Maybe Dane can shed some light

      I train in boxing right now.. I'm adjusting my training methods to condition my body through workouts, not running. It's working well so far. Interesting thing is I'm conditioning my explosive movements by workouts. For example, doing ass-to-grass squats with only 1 plates, go down and up very fast at limited sets then transition to series of pause ass-to-grass squats afterwards. My % of weight varies over time as my body goes through cell cycles on muscle growth.

    • @GarageStrength
      @GarageStrength  3 роки тому +1

      I would support that mentality and approach to training for sure!
