An exciting time on your homestead.
Exciting times on your homestead!
I’m excited for you guys.
On one of the channels, they cut down a partial cattle panel and zip tied it on to thier waterer for goats. The goats were able to drink through the mesh. - I know sheep and goats have different jaw/ mouth structures.
I have to avoid tractor supply in the spring. I don't have self control around birds. It's to easy to come home with a 6 pack. 🤣
I also made a crazy impulse purchase at Tractor Supply this past Saturday. They had all the chicks and ducks for 1.50!!!! I came home with 8 Saphire Gem Pullets and my 17 yr old daughter got 6 ducks for 1.50 each. I thought it was a great deal, but not as cheap as yours. If they'd of had turkeys, I'd of came home with them too! It's so hard to say no when they are that cheap.
Nice lambs you got! I just love this time of year, all the baby animals.
Praying all your livestock does well and flourishes this Spring.
Nice looking lambs!
That's a great deal on those turkeys! Our tractor supply had them for $10 a piece. I didn't pay that. 😮
Perhaps you could look into buying a spray nozzle for the hose. It would make life so much easier 🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️
Probably should!
Lots of new Farm Animals. The children seem excited about the new baby animals. I love baby chicks and ducks. I've never had to care for any though, just baby birds that fell out of the tree too early. Hopefully all of them stay healthy and thrive. The sheep are cute too. Sam can help better this year, hooray! ❤
So exciting for the kids and your family. Ducks are wanted by my grands so badly-I hinted to my hubby that if they are $1 I may come home with them-he rolled his eyes. Exciting times.
I have a broody chicken sitting on a dozen duck eggs. It will be interesting to see what happens. I also got three Rouen ducks when they were $1. Poultry math is real.
I once had a mama duck hatch out some chicken eggs for me. She hatched them, but didn't want anything do with them afterwards.
Wow good buy Laura.I don’t blame you for cleaning it out. I watched you clean it out and it was painful just watching.I can’t imagine how you felt. Have a great day one and all.
So neat you were able to get ducks and turkeys!😊
You really don’t need a barn for cows. They do just fine outside. But what it comes down is what you feel is best for your cows of course.
If you have a milk cow it’s nice to have a barn to milk in. Cows for meat either or works just fine.
Best of luck with your new projects.
I know you two are young and healthy...but I still don't know how you do it all!
I sleep pretty good at night, ha!
So exciting! Ducks, turkeys and sheep… all at once! Very exciting…. Until tomorrow, then the chores begin. Y’all are doing so well at your homestead. I am proud of y’all!❤
I'm sorry, but it pains me every time I watch various homesteading channels and no one wears a mask when working with animal/bird manure. Please, for your health!
I'm almost 64 years old & I've NEVER worn a mask...EVER ..not even during "COVID"....& I have not been to a doctor in 23 YEARS. Even then it was a checkup. People worry too much about germs/bacteria/etc. My God designed my body with an immune system, & I expect it to work!! Just saying.
I hope your luck holds out.
