A side note regarding the Flyers, Dave Schultz leads the league in PIMs with 472 which I believe is still a league record. That is almost 8 full games spent in the box. He was so popular around Philly that he was asked to sing on a record which is called naturally, "The Penalty Box".
I have an old 73-74 almanac talking about an expansion to Denver and Seattle in 1977, which obviously didn't happen (though the Scouts would end up in Denver for a while, obviously)
wow, with the Expansion era in full swing this series has gone to a whole new level of fun! Totally love it, first thing to queue up for viewing every single day:)
Nice use of the Calgary flames logo to represent the Atlanta flames. I liked the 3 game series as it was unpredictable and threw out some nice surprises.
Bill McCreary really sounds like John Paddock (in Winnipeg) or Don Wadell (in Atlanta) with his generosity. His roster really could have done something (just looked the Seals 1974-75 roster and who was there by season end)
There was one award winner left out in here, and that was for the Jack Adams Award, which I guess is alright, considering it was only awarded for the second time ever. In any case, it went to Bob Pulford of the Los Angeles Kings.
You call yourself a Canucks fan. I have a trivia question for you. Who scored the first playoff goal in Canucks history? I give you a clue it happened in this playoff year. I can remember watching the game with broadcasters saying that was first goal in Vancouver history.
Preparation for next few days.... 6 pack in the fridge.. check.. knuckle cracking machine plugged in.. check.... jerseys freshly laundered... check. volume turned up ..check. waiting for Shannon and his multiple sour faces... check check check.

On quite the Flyers binge lately..
Glad these are getting longer, thanks man
As am I. More THG the better.

Dirty Kazoo Meanwhile Seattle is still waiting for a team

great memories for me in 75 :) thanks for doing this one
I think Washington celebrated that road win by lifting up the trash can in the locker room as if it was the Stanley Cup hahaha.
10:21 (from the broad street bullies documentary) "what are you you doing? You'll get rabies" Ricky's like 'what are rabies?' LOL
The birth of the Never-Say-Dielanders
And this was the first time in 33 years that it had been done.
This is the year I started following the NHL! Go Flyers!
Here comes the Habs dynasty next
Last full season of Bobby Orr :(
I looked it up and was surprised how short his nhl career ended up being. And still he is an absolute legend.
9:51 well Manu Ginobili knocked a bat down in the AT&T Center back in 2009, so I think it could still happen.
If these divisions were around now in the Internet age a lot of stupid guys would have lost their minds online!
Tampa Bay Fan almost makes it worth it to try it again. I'd criticize it then go about my day, but it would be like a troll extinguisher to some.
Wow this makes me thankful for the current division format.
One of the best chances for a Buffalo championship. 😖💀😵😱😐
sadly they couldnt win with Gilbert Perreault, Dominik Hasek or even Scotty Bowman.....
Talk about bad luck. Nwith the Bills and Sabers it's just bad luck.
Nice use of the Calgary flames logo to represent the Atlanta flames.

After winning 2 straight cups instead of winning a third one for the dynasty the Flyers ended up losing in the final to each of the next 5 dynasties
Not only did we get reverse swept, but our 1st bankruptcy happened right after the season. The IRS put padlocks on the door to the Igloo.
Great Vids THG. Philly knows Fog in Jinxs.
Guy Lafleur finally figured out how to score. Man he becomes a beast.
I wonder what the players think that they have to travel long distances to play each other in the same division at that time.
Was this the year Dave Schultz set the penalty minutes record
Yes, 472.
Great video, surprised you didnt mention the USSR games in this video.

Seems like it would've made sense if flames and devils swapped divisions
Good times never last, huh? Now it's up to Couturier, Giroux, Patrick and others to finally get this bloody Cup #3
Yea about that…
@@martinrosario4018 Yeah, yeah, the Flyers are crap. Another breaking news - water is wet.

The Bullies!!!Bobby Clarke was my fave player back then,i also liked watching Schultze brat people 1/2 to death!
The Hockey Guy do you remember the Boston Vs Edmonton playoff game that also had Fog ?
Hold up, who puts Los Angeles and Montreal in the same division?
The Smythe is so close to making sense but Vancouver
You call yourself a Canucks fan. I have a trivia question for you. Who scored the first playoff goal in Canucks history?

Remember the expansion year - Phil Esposito was the face of the Tampa Bay Lightning and Mel Bridgeman was the face of the Ottawa Senators.
I wish you said that the capitols have an Amazing record of 8-67-5 I would just laugh my ass off
3:45 Whos here after we had a Canadian divison
Bernie Parent is the only non-Penguins to win back to back Conn Smythe trophies
The NHL has no sense by not putting California, Los Angeles and Vancouver in the same division that season
The skate was not in the crease.... but it will be
I miss the Aud
Would pick that the Golden seals would probably be around today if they didn’t give away there top draft picks or make dumb trades
Same could be said for Atlanta Thrashers.
yay last time I'll see a flyers jersey in this series
Until 2019
@@yourneighbour2401 yea about that…
👍

There was no '75 season. What are talking about?! XD A year to forget for sure.
